Why does anyone expect a road hazard warranty to result in a "free" tire when the problem was not a manufacturing defect? No company provides a free replacement for anything that isn't their fault. Reading the material shows you that right up front, it's not a secret, it's not hidden, it's not even in "fine print." Mileage warranties are, of course, pro-rated like so many other things such as batteries. Warranties and insurance on most items work that way. That's not unusual, nor should it be surprising.
It is a break even proposition at best for you. You can patch a lot of tires and pay for a lot of rotations for the cost of the coverage. If you have to replace the tire it is not worth it. They only take a percentage off of the new tire’s price (full price). I recently went through this and spent 100 bucks to replace a covered tire . So the coverage saved me about 80 bucks but I paid 100 for the coverage in total. Won’t ever purchase again.
Cost analysis, shows it’s not worth the warranty. And 4 wheel drive cars may require tire tread depths of all tires to be within a range, and if not you’ll need more than one tire (and claim covers one tire not two or four tires.) alignment adds to cost too.

Depends on the tires you have. If you have low profile tires are definitely worth it. 1 tire for me is $500
