Tresco looked so peaceful and quiet. That moth was huge! How amazing to be there at that exact time to see it just after emerging. I can empathize with letting go of your family home. That's what I love about Tresco, the peace. It was super to be there at the moment the moth hatched. Will's hands are big and it practically took up his whole hand! Those trousers are gorgeous aren't they and summed the man up. The new family are just the right ones, as comments have said the house will be filled with music and they are young, they say it is their forever home and are so excited. I feel I'm passing it on not letting it go. How cute will Tommy look in the vest! See you next time. xx

Hi Angela, With regards to treasure it formed itself into piles. Piles I can't part with, piles I may be able to part with, lets give it time, piles that need to be passed on and piles that need to be thrown on the skip. I have appreciated time to do this. It must be hard for some who have to clear homes quickly. My holiday gave me renewed spirit to tackle it! We've almost finished and hopefully next week is less hectic. Enjoy the sunshine under your brolly. xx

Thanks so much Jeanette - likewise! I keep hearing my chickens, but its the seagulls and my body is saying go down and sit with them; I always had a song with them at teatime. It'll pass but boy who would have thought I would miss two hens so much! House is almost done, so I'm sitting watching tennis with a cup of tea. xx
What a beautiful place to spend your holidays...although I have to say, your garden is just lovely, all those wonderful plants. So sorry to hear of your chickens passing. I know all about clearing houses, we had to clear our parents place out last year after Mum passed. Some things are very hard to part with. The memories they give you is priceless.
You're right, just looking at a glass or trousers and the whole man is conjured up! The chickens not being in the garden is so strange and at the moment I am really missing them. Thanks Helen, Spent yesterday at the house and it is finished, albeit bringing the last bits home and bits that are going to be passed on. A good feeling and sharing it with everyone has made me be able to put into words that music will carry on in the house and young people are going to make it their dream home - I'm not letting it go but passing it on. Pete has tidied the end of the garden around the hollyhocks and its looking good but empty! I'm persevering with the thought of no more chicks but its a struggle! See you soon xx

Penny lovely to see your video today. You meet such nice people but I don't think you realise it is because you are so nice yourself. People respond nicely to you and I can see why. When we moved house a few years ago the very nice man selling the house for his sister gave us the keys to store our stuff and get the house clean before the sale went through. I will always be grateful to him. It helped us so much and it was a mark of trust for him to do that. I'm so delighted a lovely family will be moving in to your mams house and she would be delighted too. Keep positive you have a lot to be happy about and well done on this lovely channel.

Thanks for sharing it all with me Jacqueline. At the moment I seem to want everything around me, never mind my own house getting overcrowded! My holiday really set me up for clearing the house and we have booked another one for late September. I think getting away for short breaks really helps with grief.

Lovely to see the precious bits and bobs you are keeping from your mum's home. Everytime I visit my mum's home I bring a little something back with me. My husband's mum is moving out of her home and tries to give us something too, loads of books and china and as I can't bring them back on the plane to CA we leave them at my mum's, which makes it problematic as you can imagine. Enjoying Tresco so much, makes me want to go back! Thanks for the chinwag. Sorry about the chickens. Jane xx
Oh Jane you do have a problem! Books and china take up so much space! So pleased my films are bringing back memories. It's going to take time for me about the chickens. First thing is get up and see them and feed them, last thing too and then I used to spend time with them if I had any spare time and as my daughter reminded me I'd sing to them! Muscle memory is kicking in at the moment and pushing me to go down the garden. Hoping it will pass soon. Who'd have thought two chickens would have such an impact. xx

I read somewhere if there is something you really dont want to part with but must, take a photo of it, as sometimes you dont need the actual item to recall the memory that is so precious, a picture will do
Thanks, I thought about that too. We bought dad a present back from Italy many years ago and it was still in his study. I thought yesterday, take a photo of it and keep the poem we wrote to go with it and put that in the memory book. However, I can't stop thinking about it and am going to go round and rescue it this morning! Thanks for the thought. x
Oh, so sorry. Once probate is granted I know my head will feel clearer. It's like a shackle at the moment. I try to ignore it and let it happen when it happens but not easy. Our buyers have completed their sale and so want to get into the house but nothing can move forward. I cleared the house just in case. Now I need to take a breath and wait! Hoping the same for you too. xx
