Tip....... carry a blank piece of cardboard cut to the same size as your number plate if you plan to stay overnight where private cameras record you ......which I do regularly.....put the cardboard over your plate as you drive in stay the night and when you leave put it over the back plate as soon as the image has been captured get out and take it off....... No number plate recognition....No trace....No fine
Nice video m8 . As a truck driver I also have to park in strange places , best thing I ever got were climair or team heko window deflectors so I could leave my windows open at night a inch or two and nobody could see they were open & don’t have to jump out of bed and shut windows if it starts to rain ! Cheap but cracking accessorie
Would be so much better to have the facilities like Aires over here.. 48hrs max stay £10 a night. Think more of us would travel around the UK and spend our Money here rather than EU ..
Another great vid Darran. It demonstrates how tolerant some businesses are. Asda is strange, they are owned by Walmart who are a boondocking, wild camping, favourite in America. We parked 3 nights in an IKEA carpark in Spain but they had designated motorhome areas and free water, grey and black dump 🙂 Stay safe Darran
12:47 *I Think Most Ikea Stores provide EV Charging Stations, be great if you got an adapter and used that to **_replentish_** Batteries and run Air Conditioning overnight, it's 85° right now and sure could use some cool air.*
How long before somebody messes up and all this superstore parking gets stopped. ? It only takes one or two idiots to queer the pitch for everybody else.
Daz...... you were right first time, the last parkup was Sainsbury’s squire! 👍 love these Parkup videos mate, keep them coming! Must admit never had the meatballs from Ikea before but only heard good things!
Daz brilliant video love how you talk quietly at 9pm just in case they hear you even though you are inside your motorhome.Anyway love this "stealth Ikea Park up" video warts and all showing it as it is you are Ace make more of these Urban Stealth park ups please very informative and also state as you did here where you are.I/e Milton keyns etc keep safe Daz atb Mike Skegness
You mentioned that you used approx 35amps over the evening and night. Then said you would be fully charged up by 10am thus being self sufficient till the evening then same again. I would be interested to know the figures and recharge times in winter months when daylight is much less and solar power too.
Having worked at Ikea, staff are also in there overnight for maintenance, security and replenishment, so there is a 24/7 presence. The store I worked at locked their public carpark at night, so that's something to watch out for.
Looking at comments others were thinking the same! Worried about your health. Please do a blood pressure reveal? Eat more starches, please? Great video thanks again.
Darren you should go to Manchester to ikia store to do a long week or a long week end stealth camping as long as you keep all your rubbish in a bag and put your rubbish in a public bin
Darren why don't you come round to my neck of the woods because you would love it very much at scotch corner services or my other place l have tried to do some stealth camping which is leaming bar services or their is the city of York railway museum carpark or askham Bar car park that's Another brilliant place to do some stealth camping
Hi Daz, quick question in regards to your solar and leisure batteries. Has your solar ever failed to keep up with demand resulting in your batteries completely running out of power? If so, does this damage the batteries? TIA
Daz mate! You really need to eat a bit more healthy get some fruit n veg up ya... Also why put a steering lock on when your kipping in it...ain't no one gona chore your van with you in it man...plus no lock means quick get away if there is trouble or danger.. Anyway keep rolling 🤙🏽
where do you get your intro music from and what software do you use to edit your videos ? i feel inspired by you, and would like to try to do something similar.
Great vid. Love your attitude towards life. So cheerful and optimistic. My wife wants to know how old you are. I said about 28 - 30. Don’t ban me if I’m miles out. Stay safe (got that from Smithys Kontiki) and all the best from Mal and Dave 👍
Ok. Good idea. Do you know any vanlife community in the uk? I would like to meet people from vanlife community in the uk especially vanlife people near London.
Daz me n my family love you mate we've been watching motorhome Mondays and weekly blogs religiously, how do we get a sticker? We are full time vanlife and have been since February in our 2005 converted sprinter loving life.
Ahhh that’s brilliant! Thanks for watch guys 😁😁👍🏻👍🏻 drop me an email at darran@theurbanmotorhome.com with your details an I’ll send some out to you 👊🏻👊🏻
Hi. I have some questions. Would you tell us how much you paid for your van ( i think i over paid for mine £20000 for an 03 4 berth.) . Would i get most of my-money back if i didnt like it in a year or so ? Lastly, would i be better with a caravan as the longest travel will be Scotland. Any advice ?
remember the police are unlikely to move you on as technically its not a police matter as you are not causing an obstruction its if the store decides to try and ticket you via a private parking company
Wow your amassing with your park ups I have been watching your b/logs for ages now love your camp outs and your mates have purchased a another van? old sparky he he love your Mondays how do you put up with all those silly questions oop's our motor home is vert similar to yours except we have a u shaped lounge? love the b/logs keep them coming... you will have to let us know how you faired with the storm LIGHTNING he he best wishes Ken and Christine
Hi Darren. That Adsa your on about. From memory its that big the staff have ride on buggies to get around on 😄. Great video mate 😎👍 cheers Paul and Sarah
Yoi are lucky that you can park overnight in that Ikea... the two Ikeas local to me have fitted height barriers st the entrances and exits so this can’t happen
Thats ikea policy. Everytime i go to ikea i arrive the night befor and sleap at the parking. At the morning i normaly go to ikea resturante for buffe brekfasr. 20 some years ago if you weer a overnigt caravan or rv at the ikea shop in Sundsval they brougth yuh som fresch baked bread in the morning. Stay safe, life are awsome.
i see a lot of rats at night on supermarket car parks at night its boy racers eating their takeaways and throwing food outside it attracts them just make sure they stay away from your van you dont want them nibbling on any van cables lol the rats that is lol
Stealth camping? IKEA has 24 hour security and a team to manage the car park. They knew you were there, because you came in a camper with lights coming out, you went in to the shop talking to a camera and you even exited the camper to talk to a camera in the dark. That wasn't stealth, that was the staff looking the other way 😂
Areas to avoid in MK Bletchley Fishermead Netherfield Conniburrow Great Linford etc all reall dangerous as i used to live in Stantonbury and it was bad back in 2004 , i do miss MK though as the people are nice and the house my dad stupidly sold was a huge 3 bed house , we used to have our own massive iceland style freezer inside the garage and also had our own bench at the front porch, houses in MK are so big compared to where i live now in Slough and also my dad sadly when he was diagnosed with cancer in 2006 went mad bought a mobile home and when he died i was literally left with only 2 grand , so ever since been renting rooms and i tell you bro im so depressed , only thing that keeps me going is i play guitar , otherwise id be dead.
you can park up anywhere you want, private tickets go to the registered keeper, but the contract is between driver and parking company so just give them the drivers details and that the end of the matter, so my driver is mr pike CO of my address then just bin the letters

Lmao that’s cheeky as hell. I love it 👍🏻

Wind deflectors are a life safer 2nd that pal
I love travelling through Spain in my camper. All the ikeas there had dedicated camper parking
Would be so much better to have the facilities like Aires over here.. 48hrs max stay £10 a night.
Think more of us would travel around the UK and spend our Money here rather than EU ..
Yes the continent is so much batter equipped for motorhomes & caravans etc. We’re lagging behind unfortunately.
That's not a rat; it's future meatballs 😃
I love these videos so much they are filled with so Much positive energy and very enjoyable to watch and cheer you up !
Another great vid Darran.

Hilarious Darren. You state I ain’t hungry but proceed to mention food at least 7 times throughout the video. Love how important food is to you!

Daz...... you were right first time, the last parkup was Sainsbury’s squire! 👍 love these Parkup videos mate, keep them coming! Must admit never had the meatballs from Ikea before but only heard good things!
That Ikea store used to be a rave venue, The Sanctuary Arena. Spent a few nights in there
No way, that was the Sanctuary? Didn’t realise! flashbacks to helter skelter nights 😆
@@lindaronald That's the one, I went to quite a few Helter Skelter events there
@@diamondgeeza06 Good times!!
For me camping at ikea means super breakfast and meatballs 😋
Love your videos man! keep up the good work
I drove trucks for years and IKEA was always a good park up and nice cheap food love it😋
GreAt entertainment Darren ! Stay safe as the saying goes these days.
The Taxis probably use it as a place to wait for their next fair if there is no restrictions there.

When you see the security it.might be worth wandering over for a chat and letting them know u will be off in the morning.

September 2024 - Watching this back!!
I got a ticket in asda .... i promptly filed it right into the bin 😁😁
Having worked at Ikea, staff are also in there overnight for maintenance, security and replenishment, so there is a 24/7 presence. The store I worked at locked their public carpark at night, so that's something to watch out for.
Hi Darren, A great video as usual. I think it is stealth parking because nobody would expect a motorhome to be used in this way, great stuff anyway.
do you not feel the "stealth" aspect is lost with the motorhome compared to the "vanlife"
Looking at comments others were thinking the same! Worried about your health. Please do a blood pressure reveal? Eat more starches, please?
Great video thanks again.
What do you do for you day job then
Darren you should go to Manchester to ikia store to do a long week or a long week end stealth camping as long as you keep all your rubbish in a bag and put your rubbish in a public bin
IKEA is a wonderful parking place to do stealth camping the food in the IKEA cafe is so so wonderful

Hi, is the ladder to the overhead bed standard equipment. The one in our van is wooden and puts the fear of god in me using it !
Yours would be a replacement - you didn’t buy it new I presume ?
Niv ours came with the van new.
Great video Jimmy how are you coping with the heat and humidity in your campervan.
This vlog makes me laugh. Ive watched 3 times. Youre delighted . A dont think will will be laughing lol. Ach im sure he will be

Parked in the right place deliveries run in from 10pm till 6am they do have a night crew on
You saw Mr Rat, I'd be interested in how many Foxes you see as of course they are higher up the food chain...
Great video darran
Even if you do get a ticket, surely they won’t be able to find you to give it you anyway??

There's an asda near me in Belfast. Someone's been parked up the last two months in it.
Pop the kettle on and settle down for this one, love these.
That guitaring at the end sounds very similar to a Hendrix song
asda cribbs causeway im Bristol is unrestricted. there are campers and trucks that stay overnight
Nice 1 mate
There seemed to be a few other vans in the car park. Were they campers or didn't you investigate?
Hire vans that they use
What do you use to film?
It’s great how you can just park up.
I’ve give you a 👍
Like the park up1s👍👍👍
Yoooooooooooo!!!!!! Check out your sexy b-roll footage and new transitioning!!!! Looking smooth mate!
Good that nothing happened. How frequently do people knock on your door at night when parking it car parks like this?
I think he's said before that he never has people knock, even when he's snoring loudly. 🤣
Fork in the road Bex haha awesome
Spot on Bex, only ever had one knock and they were looking for someone else lol
