The 3v is no slouch for torque production and still carries over up top well enough to be a contender. Good engines!
Turdzilla sounds awesome, and the 3v is straight up sounding nasty and strong with the cams! Can't wait to see it drive again, and this is my second favorite New Edge behind the red Terminator Cobra. Great job, Andrew! Can't wait for the next video.

Im doing a 4v Aviator swap into my sn95. Running it on the 2v harness, uses the 2v oil pan, shares heads and cams with the Mach 1/ Marauder/03+ Terminator etc but its 10:1 compression and has a different intake manifold then the other na 03/04 engines.
So great to see Turduzilla running again. I love this car and hatred to see it leave. I am going to do this swap with my 94 gt and I was hoping that you would deal with the stock exhaust manifolds. Lms did a 3V swap some time ago and used the adapter for the headers. There was a brand supposed to be used that would fit. I know some swaps use 2005 headers and only the driver's side needs to be modified. Cannot wait to see it running!!!

@@brandoncastle04 yes but with the lock out the timing position is wrong if your running 2v computer so I had to make some adjustments there
I’m doing the 3v swap right now and I’m almost rdy to drop the motor in. I’m using the Holley terminator x for the 2v. What kind of adjustment did you have to do?

My cammed 3v has 195k miles runs like new takes a beating every day . Have boost for it ready to go just got to get supporting modes fuel pump and injectors . Then getting parts for bottom end and 600+whp and sound good while doing it

I know I’m going to sound silly but I like the sound of the 2V much better. Even if it costs me a few HPs.
i was thinking about some ideas like blower pulley being speed controlled by a hydraulic system separate of the motor oil off the crank plus a similar system that controls independent valve actuators that push valve and spring to any controllable level for on the fly valve lift and duration control ...

NICE! I did the same swap last year. Glad to see others doing the same. It really is a great swap! I know Dewayne Logan, personally, and I can tell you he isn't about to start making the adapter kits again. I ended up cutting the 2V flanges off my headers and TIG welding 3V flanges on. My engine ended up making 352rwhp on the stock intake and Cobra TB. I have since put the FRPP intake and accufab TB on it, but have yet to get it on the dyno. Should be closer to 375 at the wheels.
I'm curious about your TB setup. How did you guys go about blocking off the IAC openings without using a plate behind it? Also curious about your IAC plumbing. Looks like you have to hoses going to the plenum.

So I did the swap on my 96 mustang exactly like y'all used your UA-cam video as a reference for the whole build only thing that I cannot figure out is the camshaft reluctor wheel configuration I do have it hooked up on the passenger side like y'all but it is still pulling a code

Hey guys, I have a couple questions if you wouldn't mind helping me out.
So a guy mentioned that he needed to tune the 3v cam position sensor? How would that work with the 2v ecu?
Also, what is the configuration for the cam reluctor wheel a guy asked about here? I assumed the reluctor wheel was that 5 arm wheel that needs to be ground to have 1 arm read instead of 5? Didnt think it mattered which of the 5 were used or not?
Lastly, a guy says with the lockouts, the cam timing position is different than the 2v and he had to adjust for that in the tune?
Im learning, so please answer and let me know so I'm not confused on this.

Funny part is, I used my buddies Milwaukee grinder to cut my bump stops on my truck. It started smoking not even halfway through the first cut.
If those are the same eBay headers I have you’ve gotta weave the shaft through the headers

If you plan on staying n/a I would switch to a oem intake with the cmcv's the Ford racing intake actually loses power n/a set up forced induction they response well

The grinder would last if you used it correctly. Using a hard wheel to cut makes no sense. Get a cut off wheel and you would have had it done in a quarter the time with less shavings.

At 12.47 on the video, what is the piece with the 2 hoses and a elec connector? Is that the IAC solanoid? I have a 03' Crown Vic P71 I am wanting to do the swap in. It takes to much money to make good power and torque out of. Seems the 3 valve makes alot more power easily.

What camera are you using it’s crystal clear?
My 3v makes 344 whp fbo and hot rod cams. Stock manifold. You guys should easily make 350whp. Not too far off a stock gen1 5.0
Exactly! The 3v isn't a bad engine. It's an easy swap for a 2v much more budget friendly than a coyote and it loses weight too because all aluminum vs the iron 2v. They make a good 50+ rwhp more fbo and cams. It's an easy swap, loses weight and can make decent power. It is not a bad swap idea especially for 2v guys.

i bought a 97 mark 8 parts car for my 95tbird and am in the middle of refreshing the engine. Pretty excited, so far everything is a direct swap
@@brysonshires9742 Even mostly stock, those Mark Viii 4v's are a huge step up in performance compared to a 2v.
@@madmod yeah unfortunately the bottom end seems to have alot of resistance dispite the oil filter looking clean. So itll be awhile before shes fully assembled.

That's crazy. I had no idea that I was unsubscribed from this channel. Fking UA-cam and their bs. Anyways, had no idea you went from the 4v to the 3. I'm curious why the change? It's a couple years too late but everything in me says that a 3v swap is fantastic since you can get more power NA than you can with a 4v but the 3v is still a much weaker engine in the long run, albeit much cheaper since they were in everything from explorers, mustangs, and f150's to expeditions.

Ford Racing intake is terrible for an N/A 3v. Looses tone of low end torque. Even if you cam lock outs and tune.

Imho, I’d drop in a 5.3 before a 3V. 3 valves are literally the worst engine ford has ever made.
This swap is much easier. And 3v is not the worse engine ford has ever done. I can think of plenty of others. We have a 5.3 LS swap currently going on and it costs much more than this swap
@@MustangLifestyleTV exactly God people are stupid when it comes to this stuff. A 5.3 won't even make much more power than. 3v anyways despite a decent displacement advantage. 3v is lighter too. Much better swap than a 5.3 for a 2v car.
350+ rwhp from fbo and cams from 4.6 liters sohc from 20 years ago isn't bad. Why do people regurgitate this stupid crap? This is a much cheaper and easier swap for a 2v and it is lighter because all aluminum and it won't make much less power with similar setup despite being down decent on displacement. Stop pushing the over used in mustangs ls bs.
Truth hurts sometimes gentlemen. Phasers, timing chains, broken rocker arms, gunk build-up(doing oil changes at 3k), and the list goes on. Weather it’s a 4.6 or 5.4, they are absolute trash. Honestly, I’d take a 2v over a 3 valve.
My 3v has 270k miles no problems that ls motor will need a rebuild at 150k.
