Its very Soundgarden / Audioslave sounding for Pearl Jam back in the year 2000, it almost reminds me of Audioslave: Gasoline. The guitar riffs and bass / drums are very hard, heavy, sonically raw-garage-punk-grunge rock sounding. Its good 🌈🌅😍😇 for a simple demo song.
Agree great songs front to back... final mix and eds vocal washed out and low Live versions of binaural..especially light years and sleight of hand sooooo much better
I’d say this about almost every PJ album. They never capture the live spirit of the band. Not enough space, not raw enough. Binaural was probably the worst though. Just compare album to live versions of nothing as it seems with mccready going out of his mind. They could have done so much more with those songs with different production.
Haha!!Negative. Breakerfall is the perfect opening to the album. This song, while it doesnt suck and has potential, is a little elementary for the band. It’s off the record for a reason. Weird take dude.
Would be cool to see this developed further. Eddie seems to buried in the mix to tell if he had real vocals or just a rough idea here. There was such strong song writing in this period. You wouldn’t know they were battling writers block.

The opening riff is exciting and it seems like we're going to get something heavy and hard but then it turns into that weak crap that they sometimes play.

This song is very "binaural" to me. I actually really enjoyed this era of the band.

You're taking it as 1 track. This doesn't fit the album in totality. That's part of the tough choices artists have to make when making an album.

honestly I like the vocals pushed back.. it makes the rest of the band pop and stand out. Different mixes can help give the songs more identity.
