- Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society) explores the artists that made him, his experiences with Ozzy Osbourne (who plucked the young shredder from obscurity as a teenager) and Elton John, why hearing "Saint" Randy Rhoads for the first time felt like The Beatles' breakthrough, his deep relationship with the endlessly positive Dimebag Darrell of Pantera, what Miles Davis said about the blues, his fondness for yacht rock and lots more.

Damn man the way he feels about randy Rhoades an his playing is exactly how millions of guitar players feel about him nowadays what a legacy!
Nowadays? We’ve been repping Randy for decades
I think you mean it’s sad that ppl just now are realizing this 😬
And even then I have no idea what you’re talking about since everyone listens to rap and rap and rap, and more rap…
Randy Rhoads is an absolute god of guitar.
My whole guitar life has been around St Randy Rhoads. Since 85'
17:16 - "I always say with great musicians.. you feel them, you don't just hear them."
Couldn't agree with you more, Zakk.
I bet Layne Stayle came in mind to him.
I teared up a bit when he talked about St. Dime rest in piece Dimebag and Vinnie SDMF ⚡️GIFD
Yeah that was nice to listen !
Damn rite CFH4L Stronger Than All Getcha Pull. Rock in power Dimebag and Vinnie. I have a Dimebag tattoo and a Pantera prosthetic leg it has all the band members on my leg.
At what time does he talk about him?
Really impressed with the new Black Label record. Has an old school Black Label vibe to it but without feeling stale.
LIKE it as well!! COOL RIFFAGE!! And ZAKK has such a good vibe, and always pays respect to other musicians! Beautiful Thing!!
The last two albums are both phenomenal
Zakk’s always remained the same if you listen very closely. And his attitude as well. In our corrupted society, he is one of a kind.
Been jamin it for two weeks now. So far "Forsaken" is my favorite song on it. Love the badass riffs.
I Love how honest and personable this guy seems to be..in interviews.
Easily one of my favorite interviews with Zakk….he has a lot of good things to say when he’s not constantly talking about fondling his genitalia lol
"When you drink like a man, that's fine but when it's time to stop you better stop like a man"
I have reached that time in my life recently. Found this words very inspirational. Cheers dude.
Zakk Wylde is one of the coolest dudes alive. Such a nice and down to Earth individual
I have played guitar since I was 14. I judge a guitarist on how passionate their playing is and how they connect with their fingers. Zakk was brilliant at this from the beginning.
I'm strictly judging on enormous cod pieces.
I agree my friend, all in...
I love Zakk so much. Dude is such a beam of goddamn light.
👍
Met Zakk twice....great guy. Just a total joker but a damn nice guy all around...and a beast of a player
As soon as I heard crazy babies on no rest for the wicked I was sold.
This lady gives the absolute best interviews. Hands Down !!!!
I wouldn’t mind another ‘Pride and Glory’ album, Zakk!
His explanation of buying Black Sabbath " We sold our soul for rock and roll " was my experience too.
Zakk is a real Class Act ,, He’s spot on with the Black Label Family - connection with People. I’m from Boston and meet so many different people at the shows and we all connect. The New Album. DOOM CREW INC. is Killer ! See u at the next show Zakk - JD - Dario - Jeff and the DOOM CREW
There's not a better person than Zakk Wylde !!!
Definitely among one of the most serious and amazing interviews Zakk has ever given. Very down to earth as usual, love the passion he puts into anything and also the way he as public person encourages anyone no matter how young or old one is to start pursuing and achieving whatever one's call really stands. I can say for sure knowing Black Label Society more in depth prevented or probably saved me from depression and a tough time I went through.
The Songs Zakk Has Written & Performed *MIRROR* My Life *EXACTLY.*
I'm a big fan of Zakks ever since his first days with Ozzy and I loved Randy Rhoads and Dimebag Darrell Rip Dimebag and Vinnie Paul together again
this was awesome! Thanks for posting. He is a huge inspiration for me. All he ever does is big up other players, but his talent across acoustic and electric is near unmatched.
Zakk is funny and inspiring and oh yeah a great guitarist. That was a great interview i enjoyed it start to finish
I'm so so proud of zakk for getting sober and being a God fearing Christian Amen brother keep on Rockin 👨
I'm already gonna say it without watching. Tale a drink everytime Zakk says "you know I mean".
Lady... You are a great interviewer. You really got some amazing responses out of Zakk, who is an influence of mine and I learned some things I didn't know. Very professional job. Thanks.
Hellyes! Thanks for the zakk wylde interview!
Doom crew inc. went already on my top 3 of 2021. Amazing record.... it has this magic touch
REVOLVER STAY METAL! I just always remember how much Pantera appreciated your guys' dedication and stalwart commitment to heavy music when that other British chick used to interview them. I liked this interview. A lot. Nice to see a normal, enjoyable conversation with a legend about music and inspiration and life and how it all interrelates. No woke shit. No politics. Just humanity. Beautiful. Thanks again.
Great Interview!!! Zakk has good knowledge & Wisdom
Love Zakk his style and ultra great Humor ! Thanks for a Great Interview!
These interviews are incredible!
Zakk is the best interview subject, because he just loves to talk :D
Yesss! I did the transcript via this AI thing, and it said he spoke 89% of the total time. Exactly how it should be!
God bless 🇺🇲
R.I.P. Leroy Wright (Jackson Boys)
I was lucky to play once w Leroy in H.S. His daughter was a friend in my class. I'm a Jackson Boy. Zakk is a LEGEND in my hometown. We have a lot of hidden talent in my hometown. And some went to play guitar for Ozzy.
~"JB"
Zakk is freaking badass. He's definitely in my top 5 guitarists, has been a big influence in my guitar playing of 33yrs. Everything he has said in this interview is straight up facts of life. I would freaking love to one day meet and jam with him. KEEP ON ROCKING!
Thank you Zakk for your contribution to music. Some songs I rock out to some I cry to. No shame. Crazy though I've seen Ozzy 4 times and Black Sabbath in 1999..I've never seen you play with The Man. But did see you at Ozzfest in 2010. My friends were drinking while I was watching. Thank you Cardinal Zakk!!
Just saw Zakk last week. Great show! Love the kilt!
Anyone who frequented the Valencia Room back in the day could end up front row when Zack would jump on stage with the house band and shred. He would often show up with the base player from White Lion and sometimes with his manager. I sat there drinking with him on several occasions on the nights he didn't play. Always a straight forward homie. Cool dude.
Love the new BLS album ....can hear Sabbath , Trouble and BTO influence.......
Love it 🤘
Shelter me is one awesome riff 👍
Zakk is the best
This interview makes the world a better place
Thanks heaps Zach I know that was from the heart I am brother all in
So.so.so bad ass is he's playing..one of the best there is....thank you for this
I really needed to hear that
Get Zakk on the boat with the fellas 🤘🤘 Shiprocked 2022
It's pretty hard to not like Zakk as a person... this interview shows that clearly.
That’s right and there’s right there are no options just go straight through that or straight through it
YOU INSPIRED ME!
THANKS 👍
The Dime and Vinnie part reminds me moreso of being 'in the moment'. Seems to be Dime's MO. Stop living in the past or future and just...live. Sounds easy, but not so much in the everydayness of life.
Great interview
I hear Zach Wilde all of those bands and we get The privilege to explore and listen to it all and even the old stuff is still modern I mean that stuff will never go out of date and you with Aussie and Black Sabbath there’s nothing like it and the blues and allsorts of stuff I’ve got such a great music vocabulary and it’s only growing I’ve watched your videos many times they are crazy you’re so awesome Zach forever a superstar you are a legend and what a great video interview great to hear from you and I can’t believe your life in the most craziest bands It’s just mine blowing your legend Zach I’ll say it again you’re a legend
Great Interview 👍
This guy is a true fucking beast with the guitar and without!!!
Zakk is my hero!
every day was the weekend...
thats how i like to live it, without booze or drugs...just food, music and FREEDOM, and fine women
The new album’s really really good
Zakk being the wise guy that he is I feel he bit his tongue when she asked about having an emotional connection with his hand when he was young.....
😂
Oh damn, I’m surprised he didn’t run with that lol.
He punched a DJ here in St Louis Missouri years back he seems better. BUT he was a prick years ago .
I was thinking the same thing I creative imagination and pricing it slapping it around and really going deep you’re right on the money Zach
Awesome Zach legend

51:21 Which artists inspired the greatest shifts in what you’ve done as a guitar player?
I was at the BLS show at Washington County Fairgrounds (2009, IIRC) before Zakk went into the hospital in Eugene OR - Mitch Lucker was still alive at that show, as well.
We heard about Zakk having "pantyhose" (his words) installed shortly thereafter; we thought it was a prank for a hot second.
Wish it would have been.
...... 😊..... "AMEN".. in our D. N. A..... I had" one" (literally one) student, who was willing to learn guitar a few years back, and she touched me, in such a deep place inside, I cry shamelessly when she sends me newest recordings... Last one I heard a nod to "me"!!!.. "you believe it!!!..." I feel fulfilled and satisfied for life with this one!!! She has old-school qualities and sees me better than I see myself !
"Zakk Wylde" "hail"... "haIL"... "HAIL"!!! 🤗
Great interview.....and yes Zakk, we DO know what you mean haha
Believe me I’m trying to get on that boat and use my Imagination 💭
Zakk Attack!
Zakk is friends with another one of my favorite 🎸 players Nuno Bettencourt
What I really like about this guy is that he’ll bring up someone like Barbara Streisand in an interview
Zakk Wylde really puts thought into these interviews....well spoken about his craft and music history....it is so much fun to listen to his music and play some of his iconic riffs.
If ony they did a Pantera reunion when Vinny Paul was still with us & had Zakk Wylde fill in for Dime-
RIP Dime & Vince 💯💙🤘
Beautiful man.
Well said Zach
I noticed Elton John is really motivating for dark heavy song writers,"example"... Jerry Cantrell!!... Zakk... I think thats great to absorb all kinds of different influence!!.. My best friend growing up "Mike 13", "made it to the big leagues "His passion for guitar left him working at a diner in Manhasset L.I,and liw and behold..."LL cool J came in,and Mike gave him his demo!!!... The rest is history....he used to steal my mioms "strange wig" collection.. the ones with llong blond hair....put it on,and walk the neighborhood with his Gibson Les Paul Custom"trying to mimick his hero!!!... Ha,!!!.... "Score 1:for the underdog"!!!
It’s to Zach I really like the flavour of that
You know ,you know and everything like that you know
Saludos 🇲🇽 atodos wuooooooo
he is on the way to become full accomplished wizard
Not the biggest fan of his band but love Zach.
Zakk rocks "you know what i mean?"😎😎😎😎😎
I admire his formula of writing good u.s.d.a grade A songs!!!... Zakk "holding the torch", Dimebag left him!!!!...
Wow Zakk is the same age as me I waa born in December of 1967
Zack and dimebag Darrell are the best guitar 🎸 ever rip Randy Rhodes
Starting my timer to see how long it takes him to make a "doing my nails" or "wearing fishnets" joke...
😂
What's to vs. grunge is fly by night metal is forever
#REVOLVER #AMAZING
Elton John is so damn good, bout to listen to some El Dorado
I think me and him started a mosh pit watching disturbed at rotr 2011 i wish he could see this and confirm of it was really him
I agree it’s like learning a song he just do it and just keep playing it and playing until it’s done just gotta smash it there’s no other way and you when you’re in the red goddamnit boy do you smash it
Goddamnit Zach you’re making me hungry talking about all these flavour and I’m struggling Did you hear what she said especially is somebody like Aussie goddamnit he’s such a lucky man
Remember zakk and Ozzy met when zakk was way young, and zakks parents died when he was young they were older of course ozzy and Sharon are like his parent
And just go yeah like I like your style
I know what you mean Zach online is going a bit crazy with his Redhead I just can’t stop watching I’m fully embracing it and swallowing it you’re right it’s in our blood
57 min of the god Zakk (you know what I mean ) Wylde 🤣 he is the best
The Stephen King comment was fantastic analogy

Also Slash and John Petrucci....
Yeah looking good baby I really like redheads just thought I’d let you know
Yo Brother Zakk, Neil Fallon wants his beard back. 😜😉
Imagination.
Great interview but please try to go for a better sound quality next time, at least for the host. If you're sitting on a PC, get a decent USB microphone for 50 bucks or so. It helps a ton!
Thanks. I have a podcaster mic, angle was just wrong for this one.
I've always wanted to learn to play an instrument but I'm 54 so I'm too old and don't have any confidence
Oh sorry that was meant to be when there’s red there is no options don’t worry about going around that brick wall just ran straight through it if you go quick enough it should leave the shape of the body perfectly straight through and pounce
