You guys need to check out the CGI in the new Flash movie it is absolutely horrendous😅 I think you guys would enjoy it
Have you reacted to FNAF VHS tapes yet?
Kinda late with this, but just thought it would be cool if you all did video reacting to all white house explosions in the movies.
Hey corridor so recently I remembered a show I used to watch when I was little called roll play and I guess it was a show where they tried to get kids moving and the way the show is done is that they’ll have a black background with 3d animated animals however recently when I went through and watched some of their music videos the animation seems a bit rough and early 2000’s style I was wondering if you would consider checking it out
Tell Wren I also have a huge arachnophobia. Can’t watch fake or real, small or big spiders. I couldn’t watch the part where the creepy crawlers come.
hi guys!! I'm one of the directors of the Small Soldiers trailer, with my brother Xabier Urrutia. Just wanted to say that we are super happy that you watched it, even more that you reacted to it!! By the way, this is LUMEN, not Path Tracing, which is the Real Time renderer in Unreal. We were surprised by how powerfull it is! Gotta say though, there is a lot of post work done on it too, and as you said, all animations are done outside Unreal, in 3dsmax. I'd definetly love to talk about it with you guys whenever you want, big fan!
Hey, I'm Julen's brother! Thank you so much for the analysis of the short, really glad you guys liked it, I don't need to tell you how much effort goes into making this stuff, so this is the biggest compliment we could get!!!🙌🙌🙌
commenting so they can see this!
another comment to keep this post up there - great work guys!
hell yeah!!! As part of the team and a real enthusiastic of your channel and your work, it is a great honor for us that you watched our short film and you took the time to make a video reacting. It makes us so happy, a dream come true. By the way, don't hesitate to talk with Julen and Xabier, apart of being the best directors posible, they are great people to work with too!
This is Lumen!? Wow! I'm blown away! Thanks for sharing your insight!
Fun Fact: the comment that Niko makes at 11:25 of "they're highly pressurised spiders" is actually closer to reality than you'd think! Most arachnids use Hydraulic compression as the chief source of locomotion in their legs, with Hemolymph (an invertebrate analogue for blood) acting as the hydraulic fluid. So, in a way, Eight-Legged Freaks actually got that scene right - if a spider was supersized and one of its legs got cut off, it'd likely eject a lot of pressurised Hemolymph. The more you know.
was goinna say the exact same thing
Though it needs to be noted that hemolymph is not that similar to nickelodeon slime.
Comments in UA-cam like this worth, thank for sharing
This just reinforces my view that bugs are just bio-machines lol.
you're probably making someone arachnophobia worse
I'd love to see you guys take on Anaconda (1997) giant cgi snake, defyin' gravity, 360 degree biting Owen Wilson as it warps through reality, regurgitating a character. So fun.
Reasonably sure they have covered this in a earlier episode
@@Mattfinish1311 I'm like 90% sure (and dropping) they haven't.
Quality jumped 1000%
Yeah they did that already.
They spent a bunch of time specifically looking at how they did the shot inside of a snake as it ate someone.
The very first use of particle systems in a feature film was the Genesis effect in Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan. I’d say that’s a pretty impressive VFX shot, in historical context!
Yeeeeesssss! I'm a big Tron fan and it's very interesting to compare the computer visuals from both movies. It's really hard to believe they were the same year (1982), as the Genesis Project scene looks so far ahead of anything else at the time. I'm just glad they were used in the best Star Trek movie 😀
All the effects in Wrath of Khan looked incredible for their time, especially considering the tiny budget they had compared to the previous one.
I now want to see Corridor Crew do a short with Wren becoming the human torch and fighting CG spiders.
yes
Corridor presents: "Kill it with fire"
and then there's an explosion
yes plz
animorph wren to be a tourch to scare off the spiders 💀
A "CGI phobias" competition would be pretty cool, making the scariest heights, spiders, or tight spaces.
and they experience it in VR.
@@theldraspneumonoultramicro405 they did that once already! kinda. the video is called "We made him a game about his WORST FEARS"
WHOA SATAN!
in some games i get the fear of hight that it makes me kinda concomfortable ^^
DUDES, ARACHNOPHOBIA WARNING WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE WTF
14:10 "THEY MADE HIM DARK" that's so unintentionally hilarious
Since we've officially opened pandora's box on star trek, Corridor Crew HAS to review the DS9 episode where they go back to the original enterprise. Early CGI, but in many ways they seamlessly integrated modern actors into 1960s film. It's impressive to this day.
And they did it on a '90s TV show budget, which is amazing.
14:12 “He’s dark! They made him dark.”
Yes they did Niko, yes they did.
Lmao
💀
Twas spicy but not really 😅
Their explanation about CGI fire also helps explain why the Balrog in Lord of The Rings looks really good and still holds up to this day.
Number 1, the fire was actually real fire that was filmed as a separate element and then simply manipulated using a particle system
but also Number 2, the Balrog itself is a visually dark character and nearly all of its scenes also take place in very dark surroundings and dark lighting, thus the fire doesn't lose contrast or exposure.
I much preferred the look of the Balrog in Fellowship to the Balrog in Two Towers! I think they went with fire sims in the second movie, and it just didn’t have the stylised punch of the first movie. Fellowship Balrog remains one of my favourite CG creatures.
@@Daveyboy100880 I wouldn't have thought so.
I think its more that because the Balrog is falling for a lot its scenes in movie 2, the fire and some effects are being somewhat blown away. And in its final scene, a lot of the flames have been extinguished, but the smoke is still there.
Eight legged freaks is such an underrated movie, also bizarrely it stars an early Scarlett Johansson
It’s my absolute favorite movie. So good.
Man i gotta do a video on that soon 😅
Why bizarrely? Everybody needs to start somewhere 🤷♂️ she was in Home Alone 3 and that was a pile of shite.
I'd love to see you guys do your own spin on a Human Torch. You really talked about a lot of the best of both films and I'd love to see you try and unify the two, perhaps with a bit of more recent technology
I want to see them react to the 90s unreleased one that RLM watched hahaha, that Reboot-level CG human torch with his walk to the store jankyness
Love Niko’s impression on the Dune explosions- They treated them like actual characters of the scene.. what a brilliant thought!
I've been loving this show for years! Please don't ever quit!
yes please😢
Doesn't even feel like "years"
had to pause and just say how cool it is you're finally checking out Small Soldiers! One of the movies I watched on repeat growing up, and always holds a special place in my heart. Thank you for covering these beautiful gems.
About the Fantastic 4, despite the fact that the new fire effect is "realistically better", I still like the older version. Because you can see his facial expression and acting. Also, with the fire not as bright as the real thing, we are paying attention to the intention of the character but not the flashiness of the flames. Sometimes realistic and grounded are not always the best way do to.
Same! I can see Evans there, and how he's acting. With Jordan's Torch it looks like a 3D mannequin lit on fire - doesn't even look like there's a person under that fire...
At the very least, I think the lips, cheeks, and eyelids should be diffusing some of the light from the mouth and eyes, instead of being completely opaque. It would have given his face a little more dimension and liveliness.
Finally the Borg Queen! I LOVE that shot and Alice Krige is so creepy and awesome in that role. However you guys should do the V'ger scenes from The Motion Picture. Late 70s visual effects at their best really.
I've been waiting for Trek!!!
I'd also love for them to talk about the Mutara Nebula sequence in STII. The Genesis Device computer animated demo sequence too (some credit as the first), though they may have talked about that one.
If you like the human torch shots, don't forget the best scene he was in (and only really good part of Fantastic Four 2), the chase sequence with the Human Torch chasing Silver Surfer
Would love to see you guys talk about Star Trek the Motion Picture, directed by the legendary Robert Wise. Specifically the 2001-esque Spock spacewalk scene. Lots of really incredible looking shots in that movie!
Yeah, and the beautiful (but admittedly boring) entry into the V'ger cloud - the visuals in that sequence still mystify me. I would love to see the guys get into the background of that.
The effects in The Motion Picture do NOT look like it was made in 1979. They reused a lot of footage for Wrath of Khan in 1982 and it still looked incredible.
Another Star Trek suggestion: The surreal time travel sequence in Voyage Home. IIRC, it was the first time CGI used an actual scan of actual actors in a movie - which was a huge step forward for 1986! It might also be interesting to look at the Genesis Planet animation from Wrath of Khan, since that was a jawdropper back in the day. Longest CGI shot up to that point, in 1982.
It's more interesting than that, scanning people wasn't really a thing back then, they used a sort of digital pen that can plot points in space, so they had to sit still while a guy would go around their face point by point to plot out the wireframe mesh.
Pixar did they same thing with their character designs, if you've ever seen the original clay sculpts for the characters in the early films, they have gridlines drawn on them as a guide so they can map them out with the pen.
Alright, Nico got me with this prompt. There's a scene in the movie Mirrors with Kiefer Sutherland where he lights on fire and it is BAD. It's brief and I saw the movie one time years ago, but I immediately thought about it when Nico said worst fire you've seen. I imagine that movie must have lots of other VFXs worth breaking down, as well.
I think one of the things that really sells the "Small Soldiers" animation is the fact that the movements of the action figures have a stutter, or jitter/wobble that is very reminiscent of stop-motion, like we would get from most other forms of live animation for a similar size (claymation, armature animation, etc.) and that subconsciously convinces us both of the realism in the image, and the scale of the figures, because we've seen it many times before.
I have been asking for that shot to be on this show for YEARS, at least since the first ten episodes. FINALLY! And I'm really pleased you guys liked it.
which shot??
@@SirWrender Boo, I didn't even specify - the borg queen entrance :)
I like how the one dude attacked by a spider who says “Looks like the only thing going is you dude” literally looks to the side where he should have seen the spider coming at him, yet he still doesn’t react.
Also Wren stating the spiders are jumping, is because they are just that, jumping spiders!
That's such a common thing in movies & TV: a character gets attacked from off-screen moving into frame - surprising the audience - but the character was facing the off-camera attacker the whole time so it shouldn't be a surprise at all.
Great episode! So glad to see you guys react to Star Trek effects. If you’re looking for more, I’d love to see a reaction to the DS9 episode “Trials and Tribble-ations” where they inserted the characters into an episode from the original series that was shot 30 years earlier. Lots of great scenes to choose from in that one!
Yes, this 100%!
Yes, really well-done!
I asked for Small Soldiers in a previous videos comments section, so happy you've looked at this and will do properly in future at the original!!
LOVE that did you guys did First Contact. One of my all time favs
That Borg Queen shot is ingenious and insanely impressive!
Fun fact: In the opening Battle of Sector 001 scene, the Millennium Falcon flies by. It was the first Trek film to have effects by ILM, so that little easter egg got added. No Wilhelm Scream though, fortunately.
Honestly, I think the human torch holds up VERY well. It's lacking some detail you'd find nowadays, but it's completely believable.
It doesn't take me out of it, and there's not much cgi, especially particle stuff, from back then where I can say the same
I love how you guys changed the bass at the beginning, great change from the older videos !
there are definitely more Trek vfx shots to choose from - would love to see a breakdown of the wormhole scene from Star Trek The Motion Picture
You know, not a movie that you’d usually think of being great with VFX, but the Ella Enchanted intro and the movie in general deals with a lot of magic. The single tracking shot intro is very interesting and I’d love to see how you guys analyze to see how they pull it off.
I would love to see you guys do your version of the human torch. That would be awesome.
Yeah. They could like set Clint on fire. Oh wait.
Hey guys, just wanted to say after watching your channel since 2019 yall have inspired me to get a laptop and use Unreal Engine to develop my game I've waited years to work on. Thank you so much!
So glad they're covering the Small Soldiers trailer; that project deserves the attention
The "CHARGE " Blender short would be awesome
for the VFX series. As well as *Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia!* where you could do a comparison to the "live action" Lion King. Also at the end of second Chronicles of Narnia movie there's a big water creature, so it might be cool to see what you think about that.
Maybe also, Max Schneider's Gibberish music video, the editing kinda breaks my brain there.
The *last agni kai fight from ATLA* would be perfect for for the Animators React. It's so stunning!
And for stuntmen react It would be cool to see you react to the duel from "Potop", it's really good sword fight
I would say that's one of the two best Star Trek Effects, with the other one being them crashing the saucer of the Enterprise onto the planet. I remember that being a "Holy sh*t!" moment for me in the theaters. Another one that was really cool for the time (but looks VERY dated now) was in the final TOS movie when they attacked the klingons in zero-g and they had the blood drops floating around in the air. That was 1991, so it was pretty cool back then (only spoiled by Terminator 2 coming out earlier that year).
What about the enterprise ramming the other ship at the end of Nemesis. I really didn't like that movie at first. But I do think the CGI was very good.
That zero-g attack was pretty good
For what it's worth, I think the Voyager opening still looks fantastic.
Admittedly, part of me wants to see it discussed so the trivia of that infamous "Amiga shot" with the missing textures from the first episode comes up - aka. why splitting up renders between multiple different computers and ensuring every one of them has the same assets is difficult.
To keep this short that Toy Soldiers was well UNREAL 😂
Personally love watching these reactions vids etc when I get notified, really makes me appreciate more the finer things in films, TV shows, anime etc. A much more deeper and rich experience too so many thanks guys ❤
Eight legged freaks holds a special place in my heart. My moms best friend took me on a trip while babysitting me to the theater and on my first bus ride to do so. Seeing a movie based in AZ where we lived was the coolest thing my 7 yr old brain could imagine because to me only “cool” stuff in movies happened in LA or NY.
Small Soldiers is a classic, and I wouldn’t mind a reboot that looks like that!
They should do a crossover with toy story
Poor Wren! You guys should do an episode making animations of things Wren likes!
Currently re-watching Where The Wild Things Are. Great movie, and I love that 'Wild Things' are a combination of practical and CG effects
There is a scene in Dune (2021) around 56:30 where these balloons come out of a ship to help lift a container and the balloons look so weird when they are inflating, would love to hear your guys’ take on it. Long time fan, love the content!
Ive been having really rough weeks recently but the one thing I can always look forward to are these episodes. They always bring my spirits up no matter what and leave me feeling better afterwards every time. Thank you to all of you guys at Corridor for being you. Please keep these coming!!🖤
Eight legged freaks and Evolution were the two movies I had burned on disc when I was a kid, I watched them like a million times each. So glad it showed up on this series.
I'd recommend Evolution, actually. That show had a bunch of pretty cool shots.
I'm looking forward to Dune Part 2, but I'm also prepared that they likely took more liberties with the story. Most of the action or battles take place off screen, and so much of the dialogue is a mental game of chess these characters are playing. When a scene starts getting really good, the author pumps the brake and transitions to a completely new scene. As you read the book it becomes increasingly more clear why Dune has been so difficult to adapt.
When you talked about the light through the cape, I immediately thought about the dumbledor voldemort fight where you can see the magic beam through voldemorts cape
One of the best series in all of UA-cam!! I hope you guys feel proud to see how far you’ve come and how you inspire people to follow their passion just like others inspired you guys.
I'm gay
Just saw that Small Soldiers sneak peak a couple of weeks ago, I'm glad they covered it
When it comes to some of the worst fire cgi I beg you to take a look at Riverdale S5 ep10 at 23:17-23:42.
Also I bet you guys are very familiar with the Lockout (2012) Uniclycle Chase scene, but it would be so good if you cover it on the show!
Never seen the show but just looked this up. Oof that’s rough 🥴
That initial ignition looks like a pancake.
To me, one of the most "signature" Star Trek visuals is the Mutara Nebula sequence in Star Trek II (1982). Another from the same movie is the Genesis Device demo sequence which is often credited as one of the first fully CGI sequences - though I think that one was covered on the channel before as it was done by the ILM CGI department which would eventually be spun off as Pixar.
There were also really good shots in the first Star Trek movie (1979) which was one of the first post-Star Wars effects-heavy films.
Small Soldiers War For Nekron became one of my favorite proof of concepts the moment I saw it, I'm so glad you guys reacted to it!
In another episode I think you guys were asking for a clip where the CGI was better than it needed to be. I recently started watching Resident Alien with Alan Tyrdek and IMO the CGI/VFX are really good, looks like they put a lot of effort into morphing from Human to Alien and the Alien looks real. Sometimes they have shots that seems like a flex, which IMO is funny for a show that really isn't about the CGI, it's more about showing off the human side (it's a comedy).
It's probably a simple shot, but I'd love to see yall discuss the transition in kingsman golden circle when it goes from weed bag to jungle, that's been one of my favorite scenes for a while, something about it is just so satisfying
I know this is super old (1931/32) but Vampyr would be a great one to see you guys watch. The way they had to play with shadows to create their effects. The early tracking shots. It’s impressive for the time and how they came up with this stuff with such limited resources.
I remember going to see First Contact in Theatres at 13 and being blown away by this scene. I'm not a Trekkie, but damn that was a well made scene.
That opening pullout from Picard's eye into the depths of the Borg Cube was pretty well-done too. But yeah, Star Trek VFX tends to be grounded and functional, rather than showy.
(Although it would be cool if they cover the morphing heads in Trek IV, or the Genesis Planet CGI from II.)
@jasonblalock4429 it may be more functional than showy but I've gotta admit I'm not a fan of Niko's clear insinuation that the use of VFX in Star Trek is kinda dull, especially since it's a movie they're reviewing. In First Contact the battle against the Borg cube with the physical and CGI ships and the subsequent enormous green explosion is damned spectacular, it was right at that 90s peak of model work supplemented by CG before the whole industry went all in on CGI and gave us nearly two decades of VFX that age badly.
But also yeah, I agree with your suggestions, they're good takking points for VFX history, I've suggested them too in the past as well as the Enterprise D saucer crash
@@mdmn-ARCA Yeah, the Saucer crash had a really good sense of scale. Excellent model work.
I'm going to add a qualifier to Niko's statement: Trek VFX tend-*ED* to be grounded and functional - emphasis on past tense. The last 10+ years have been quite consciously the polar opposite of that.
Been commenting for a while, I think a great episode for them to do would be to just go through home external ship shots for Trek have been done through the years, going from TOS through to today, just the changing technology and techniques.
You guys have inspired me to be a vfx artist! Keep up these amazing vids!
An awesome subtle vfx shot is in the latest season of Righteous Gemstones during a sort of music video part where Billy sings There'll Come a Payday. He's wearing super reflective sun glasses in the scene, but you never see a camera or any crew and his eyes are visible behind the glasses under the reflections. Subtle but cool
Loved Small Soldiers & still do! That War for the Nekron looked insane!! 🔥🔥🔥
Legit I cannot wait for this series, I get so hype for the new episodes
I really love this series, keep it up Corridor Crew! 🔥💪
when I first discovered this channel one of the first things I did was check to see if you guys did a react to Eight Legged Freaks. I still think a lot of the CGI in that movie is pretty impressive for 2002, especially the scenes that take place at night
It would be really cool to see a video about shooting for vfx. What are some things to keep in mind when you’re shooting for certain effects you want in post?
I’m so mad that the small soldiers thing isn’t going to be a real sequel it looks so damn good.
Hoping for a RvB fight animation react. Definitely not the most detail, but the weight and sound behind all the actions is something many animations miss. Also incredible choreography.
Seasons 6-10 of RvB and first two seasons of RWBY have some of the best fight choreography ever. Monty Oum was a master of making creative weapons and then being even more creative with those weapons, then you add on a perfect understanding of movement, weight, and impact and his fights scenes all look incredible. That's not even mentioning his ability to sync his fights up with the great music from Jeff Williams. RT honestly lost half the value of their animation department when he passed.
These videos are always great. Watched Carter (Korean Film) yesterday - that would be a great movie to do a react video on.
I've been waiting years for you guys to talk about Star Trek! Please do more on the original movie era!
The Star Trek effect actually took about 8 months to do because the alignment didn't work properly with the motion control - they had to then manually shop each frame and move her slightly to the left (or right, I can't remember).
You guys should definitely do a Star Trek react episode. Throughout the various television shows and movies, there have been some amazing (and some not-so-amazing) effects. Recommendations include the space battles in Strange New Worlds and Picard season 3 as well as their use of Volume-like sets, as well as a look at the Abrams movies versus the older ones.
Strange New Worlds is pushing episodic VFX up a peg for sure!
Unrelated to the reactions but I have so much appreciation for the fact that Sam is wearing a Sleep Token shirt, seeing them pop up in unexpected places lately has been such a joy.
Great channel, just found you guys. Super fun
Glad you guys covered that human torch effect. I watched it at the movie theater and came out telling my wife that we are officially had gotten to the point where we can make superhero powers not look like a computer game.
Then we started getting the marvel movies and the rest was history
Seeing you guys cover "8 legged freaks" reminds me of the movie "Evolution." Have you ever covered that? I used to be pretty impressed by it!
Borg queen melting is also an excellent sfx shot, toward the end.
Something I actually really love about eight legged freaks is the variety of spider species it shows, from jumping spiders to orb weavers to big tarantulas it’s so diverse and even thought in highly arachnophobic I have fun pointing out the different kind of spiders I see
Someone is going to clip 14:10 and try to cancel Niko out of context lol
Loved Eight Legged Freaks since I was & still do now, underrated homage to 50s SciFi.
Legit one of my favorite movies as a kid
Get back! You eight- Legged FREAKS!!!!!!!!
Would love to see a Yogi The Bear(2010 live action) breakdown, i think it still holds up today....BIG FAN, NEVER STOP!!
Hi guys! Would love to see you react to the VFX in the three Chronicles of Narnia films. A lot of the effects have really stood up well considering those movies are 18, 15, and 12 years old. And then there’s a couple of shots that have really aged. But for the most part, the movies still look really good! There’s some great miniature shots in those movies too!
Have you reviewed the Chronicles of narnia movies? I loved those and would like to see how well they hold up today.
Star Trek: First Contact, one of the best ever Trek films
That new Small Soldiers clip gave me big Borderlands vibes when I saw it in the preview, I guess the sort of graphics they used along with the colour choices.
A huge portion of what makes and always has made a nice scene is the skill of the artist that creates it, and not just the tools used.
I'd love for the guys to compare the vfx between the first half of The Flash CW show and the second half. They also have a full cg gorilla that walks and talks, and in my opinion it looks pretty good!
"Make america grod again"
Would like to see the crew react to more Japanese special effects, a medium known as Tokusatsu which includes things from Godzilla to Ultraman tv series. Maybe having one of the modern directors like Kiyota Taguchi to come onto the show to describe the effects may help! I'm sure Taguchi will like to join your couch and explain what Tokusatsu means!
I swear i submitted that star trek shot months ago in the comments, stoked to see it finally make it on, i think all star trek vfx look awesome for the time honestly, bit janky but hey thats tv vfx in the 90s for ya
Would be AWESOME for you guys to do a deep dive into the opening title sequences of the Bond films, from right back to Dr No through the decades to the innovations in the 90s/00s/10s/20s CGI openings... so many old-school techniques used and just a really great example of raw creativity to set the tone of each film. Even the MUCH hated Die Another Day has some of the best opening title elements with the fire and ice 3D characters which, for the time, were mind-blowing! :)
the fire in The Devil's Candy 2015 i remember being superrrrrr not great haha
The spiders, squirting blood from their legs like that may not be too inaccurate, given the fact that they move their legs with blood pressure lol
Just saw Wren today at Open Sauce. It was awesome!
I have an old friend who is somewhat of a elder stuntman named Jimmy Graham. Got his start as a circus clown, he plays the banjo, and he’s been in some classic movies. He’d make a hell of an interview.
Plz bring more episodes of vfx artists reacts to bollywood/indian cinema
I wouldn't call that the best cgi in trek but it is nice to see trek get some love on the channel. 90s trek used a lot of practical effects, which have mostly held up over time. Some of the cgi on Star Trek Enterprise, which aired in the early 90s, have that dated, tv series cgi that doesn't hold up as well. It was mainly just the starship models, as by that time they no longer used physical models. It is interesting though, that Star Trek Voyager was the first show to use a cg ship...yet it actually looked better. I think it's because they made a physical model and modeled the cg ship after it...where later shows created the ship fully in computer...which gave them that artificially lit appearance that all 2000s cgi had.
Models, I think, cause they have to move the camera around them, have a better feeling of mass and realistic movement compared to most CGI shots. The shots of various Enterprises swinging past the camera, when they were done with models, really do still look gorgeous, where as some CGI ones the ship doesn't seem to move right as there isn't enough graceful momentum in there movement for a ship of their size.
But still, CGI gave us shots like in DS9s Sacrifice of Angels with the Federation Battle Fleet, and those shots rock.
6:00 if we’re finally talking Trek, there are tons! But you guys need to check out the TOS episode “The Trouble With Tribbles” followed by the DS9 episode “Trials and Tribble-ations”. They include characters from the 90’s show (DS9) into the 60’s show (TOS) and it’s flawless.
Dude I haven't seen eight legged freaks in forever love that movie!!
I don't know if that Small Soldiers: War for the Nekron used any stop-motion (it looked like it did) or if it was ALL Unreal Engine. But, it looked ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. It really looked and felt like action figures coming to life and moving like they realistically would (slight herky-jerky movements as if someone was moving them by hand). Not to mention the little dust and hair details that make it look and feel more lively. That whole clip honestly blew me away. And the lighting and shine on the toys and plastic was FLAWLESS.
I love how they captured how light the characters would realistically be, given how small they are and the materials they're made of. But also the slight follow-through on fast movements, like their joints aren't quite stiff enough to stop when desired. Or else their joints are too stiff, and so when they stop suddenly their whole body rocks, instead of flexing to absorb the deceleration like a human would.
I think jumping spiders just look ridiculous in movies. It's when they are crawling really quickly. I honestly thought the spiders in Harry Potter were damn good
Jumping spiders are easily the least scary for people, most would even call them cute
I think it was around right around the time of FantasticFour that FumeFX was released. still got an old lifetime-license laying around somewhere.
Another great episode
