Of all the places you have flown to, I'm surprised you have never visited Italy. Easily one of the most beautiful countries in Europe and the BEST food.
California resident here. My favorite foods whenever visiting England: 1. Fish & chips 2. Full English Breakfast 3. Donner kebabs 4. Indian takeout with fluffy nan bread 5. Wrapped packets of mackerel from Marks & Spencer 6. Washed down with shandy or Jamaican ginger beer 7. For dessert, 99 flake, Digestive biscuits and/or Cadbury's Dairy Milk.
The ITA planes look as stylish on the inside as the outside. Must say that Italy is my favourite country - the history, culture, architecture, scenery, food cannot be beaten and the Italians I've met have all been very friendly.
@@markiangooleyI flew on a blistering summer day on their blue Ita airway plane from Dulles to Rome and it was probably one of the coldest flights I’ve ever taken
@@markiangooley, APU or ground ACU exists. Some airlines require pilots to always keep APU on above certain outside temperature. I flew Royal Jordanian B787 and after standing in overheated jet bridge for 5 mins, the airplane was icy cold.
Nice video! As an italian i'm proud of the presentation you made of ITA. Let's just hope they keep doing well, we haven't a great story when it comes to air companies. BTW, arrivederci is goodbye, and we only say that when living. It litterally means "to the next time we will see each other", sort of see you later, so since you're coming back it was not so wrong!😅
Noel, you are so right about the ITA Airways colour scheme. I love the bright Azzurri blue that the a330 is painted in, very imaginative - clearly someone is capable of thinking outside the box. But it's also very fitting for those of us who know a little bit about Italy.
22 year expat from the uk living in Canada, and i can confirm, a chippie tea is always a must whenever i get back to the uk. Sausages are especially important. Enjoy your chippie tea!
JFK-FCO flights were always packed even when I flew several times to Rome over 40 years ago on 747s. My sister went from JFK-FCO on an Alitalia 747 in March '81 as part of a Latin class high school trip. The plane was full save for one businessman in FC. The blue ITA livery reminds me of Formula 1 racing for some reason.
When we lived in Malaysia when I was a child, there were many things we were asked to bring back to the other Brits living in our village. They included- Clark’s school shoes, gingham checked school dresses (it was a British school so British school uniforms), marmite, Cadburys chocolate, walkers crisps and PG tips! It was also the early/ mid 90’s so no security so people would sneak bacon, black pudding and gammon in their hand luggage (usually in clean nappies) to get them through. Easier than driving over the border into Thailand to buy them. Always felt odd having a suitcase full of British food (company paid luggage fees) and my grandma always got us in chippy dinner the night we got there. Nothing beats fish and chip shop chips from the UK!
I am shocked there was not a Clark's store in all of Malaysia. We had two of them in Huntsville, AL (a city of barely 250k)... Having had fish and chips in London and at several places along the West Coast of the U.S. I don't understand the sentiment of feeling the need to act like you can only get good F&C In London. The problem most Americans have is that they have no clue about making sure their fish is fresh off the boat (that morning). Heck, I even had delicious F&C's in Rosarito, Baja/Mexico...
@@travellinman382Just curious, what did they use to fry the chips back then? Lard? Is it like McDonalds that switch from lard to vegetable oil assuming it was healthier but turned out to be worse ?

How nice you were recognized by a fan in the airport. I've always wanted to visit Italy like my Italian friend. They rented a nice little convertable & drove to small towns & wineries & stayed on old estates where the owners rent out rooms to pay for the upkeep & serve meals & of course wine. ITA should have given you another glass of proseco for being 1 hr late! The plane looked very nice & the food even better!!! It does feel strange to return to a place you once lived as a visitor. Enjoy your time & say hi to the King for me! My late hubby loved going to the pubs when he was in London on business. The people couldn't believe the "Yank" liked football & watched it on the telly with them . Of course, he enjoyed a pint or 2....& a steak as well.
I live in Germany, and like you find traveling back odd. I lived in London for over 30 years but now I feel like a tourist there. The views when you land at LHR on that approach are fabulous though, and especially when you recognise all the parks, buildings, stadiums, and streets. I don't miss the crowds though, it's better seen from above.
I loved the shirt! The ITA 330neo was gorgeous, inside and out. The chaos of the boarding in New York was ridiculous. That type of experience leads to travel stress and contributes to bad behavior of passengers.
As a Londoner for over 30 years, I can attest to the fact that there are very few decent chippies in London. Almost all of them try to support an over-extensive menu covering far more than fish & chips, like kebabs, burgers, chicken etc rather than doing one thing well. Out in the provinces though, it's a different story, proper chippies everywhere.
It's the same down in Surrey/hants where I'm from the fish and chip shops sell everything from pizzas to kebabs but they advertised as a fish n chip shop and that's the food they cannot get right. Most of the time it's dreadful. I think we need to go north of the border for good fish n chips Fried in proper beef dripping.😉👍
As a Northern Ireland guy living in Indiana US, there’s no good chippies here apart from one run by a British family about a 2 hour drive away. Also got good fish n chips in Newyork at a British run cafe. A good chippie is always my first go to when get back home.
Agree, but depends wher you live in London. We’re lucky in Hackney to have Sutton and sons Excellent fish and chip, they’re also fishmongers so you know it’s all fresh.
I recently moved from Georgia to Colorado and I flew back into Atlanta a few months after my move. I experienced a similar feeling to you flying into London. My family now also lives in Colorado, so there really aren't any of my things or family left in Atlanta. Its a strange feeling being somewhere so familiar to you, but no longer at home, in fact far from it. Anyways, I love your videos. Keep up the good work.
I had an aunt who was originally from Belfast but spent most of WWII in England driving trucks. We took her out to an Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips. (Remember those?) 16:09 I say it was more famous as the place the French Emperor Napoleon was exiled to after his forced abdication following the Treaty of Fontainebleau, and conveyed to the island on HMS Undaunted by Captain Thomas Ussher; he arrived at Portoferraio on 4 May 1814. He was allowed to keep a personal guard of 400 men and was nominally sovereign of Elba, a step down from Emperor of the French. However, the nearby sea was patrolled by the French and British navies to ensure he could not escape. During the months that he stayed on the island, Napoleon carried out a series of economic and social reforms to improve the quality of life. After staying for almost ten months, he managed to escape back to France on 26 February 1815 with about 1,000 men.
Well, I know that feeling when everything is familiar but it's no longer your place. I used to live in Bialystok, Poland, city only 40 km away from Bielarus border, now I live in Chicago suburbs. Few days before last New Years Eve I flew there after 6 years of absence. Can't even express the feelings I had. I felt like I got back home from a very long vacation, not the other way around. But when I got back to US it felt like I never left. It's a very strange feeling.
Noel - I believe one of the queens former chefs is working on setting up a restaurant in Dallas (likely a food truck) of fish and chips. He also has a YT page too. You should check him out if you want a shorter trip.
I was pretty much raised in the South and I am a die hard sausage connoisseur ! Can't ever get enough! I know how you feel about being gone from UK for just a year, except I was raised in N. Florida, but have lived in Georgia for the past 45 years. I went to a high school reunion the past week and the city seemed strange to me. Sad part was that I was glad to leave and get back home!
Loved the approach into London... I have never come in from that direction before to see the whole city. Awesome. This airline seems to be pretty good too. Will have to try it some time.
4:55 Many people don't seem to notice that most universal power outlets actually now have a usb-c in the middle. I tested it on various airlines (Emirates, China Southern Finnair etc) A small but great touch
I had to stop and breathe after just minute 3:00 - it's the reason why I hate flying these days. I can't handle crowds anymore (thank you fibromyalgia and social anxiety for that) But I'm so so so lucky that I got to fly a lot during the 80's and 90's, so I live with those memories. And travelling to the UK; I'm not British but grew up watching the BBC (Blue Peter, Biker Grove, Eastenders ...) so I feel like it's my 2nd home. I can't wait to drink Ribena, have a nice sarnie, and a packet of salt & vinegar crisps. That's coming home for me!
I love how far you'll go for a good meal! I remember you flying from UK to Texas for a steak! My, how times have changed! Reminds me of my dad (who grew up on the east coast). He came home from a hard week of work at UAL, and he announced that he "had a hankerin' for baked beans." "Pack your bags, everybody, we're flying to Boston for the weekend!"
As a Brit who’s lived in Australia for the past 12 years, we went back for the first time this year - one of the first things we got was a good Indian take away. 😂 The Aussie haven’t quite mastered it yet!
I'm pretty sure New Zealand would have an issue with seeds hidden in bookmarks! Looking forward to my own adventure from Manchester to Singapore soon. I've been frantically scrubbing the seeds from my walking boots - not a euphamism
Italy is a great place, but I prefer further north. Turin is one of my favourite places on Planet Earth, and just a stone's throw from the Italian Alps, too. Agree about the fish and chips and we haven't been back to the UK since 2016... Nowhere good to get fish and chips in Manila, although I do make my own pork pies now!
Noel starting November Reno will have twice weekly flights on the start up carrier new Air Pacific's new routes, also the 2 new cities are ONT-RNO, ONT-Nashville. On Nov 16th and 17th respectively. They do ONT-LAS regularly.
Great video Noel the ITA A330N to me looked like the best long haul service/flight you’ve taken . If the catering in Y class is half as good as business class well worth a flight .😃👍
For sausage in the States, you just need to find German/Polish parts. I grew up in a very German part of Southern Indiana and sausages galore. They even have a blood sausage, which I think is very close to English black pudding.
Thank you for sharing your trip here. Yes, the Air France 🇫🇷 Lounge looks very nice. And I laughed as well when you went down to the gate to see all those people. Wow!! To many but you walked on to the ITA and that is a cute cabin look!!!☺
Born in England. Moved to US when I was 2. Love some proper British fish and chips, and tried it everywhere in the US only to be disappointed every time. Then a few years back I was in Gibraltar and took a taxi (really a tour guide) up the rock and around the island, and he dropped us off at a chippy in Gibraltar. So I asked him, “I’ve been searching for good fish and chips in the US for years and can’t find any. The fish looks amazing, but then it’s so disappointing when I eat it.” He says it’s not the fish, it’s the malt vinegar. US malt vinegar (it’s usually Heinz) isn’t the same as British malt vinegar. So I bought so Sarson’s on Amazon and took it with me to get some US fish and chips. Sure as hell, it was way better. Something about US malt vinegar being more acidic and British malt vinegar being less acidic and more sweet……whatever it was it made the difference. Give it a whirl. Keep up the great content.
My two favorite places to go for fish and chips is Whitby where I had the full lot in a sit down restaurant with white bread, tea, and mushy peas. The other place that was actually amazing was Beamish, the living museum. That felt like I was served half a fish and two whole large potatoes worth of chips (yes, must have salt 'n vinegar!), all cooked in beef tallow which both made the food taste amazing and gave the fish a crispness that was beyond anything I've had elsewhere. Pretty sure my pulse slowed for two months afterwards with my heart trying to push all that around! Thanks for the review of ITA's new A330NEO, I hope you had a great time, now try getting some real Texas BBQ in London once and see if you don't miss Texas food after that!
There used to be a good Fish & Chips in Richardson, Texas on Coit Road called Fish & Fizz, run by a guy from Cornwall. They were sadly forced to close back in January as their landlord wasn't willing to negotiate a price for the location that they could afford. But for those 5 years, they'd gone strong.
Small world. American co-worker was so happy to find a decent chippie in Texas of all places back a couple of years ago. And it was exactly that one. Sad to see it go.
This man truly makes the absolute perfect videos that I can always easily watch from start to finish. I’ve download like 20 random videos from the channel to watch while on my flight from IAD-GIG (Washington-DC to Rio de Janeiro) next week🤣
I flew on UNITED Polaris - it was lovely - I slept better on United Polaris than I did on Lufthansa first - I absolutely love your videos - I give me a desire to start my videos and live streaming again
I've flown them back and forth to Japan this year, on their A350, and it was the worst experience I've had so far with an airline. The crew did not interact with the passengers at all, they were impatient and one of the cabin crew was smoking an electronic cigarette in the aft galley. I will avoid them as much as I can.
Noel, Noel, Noel. Time for another lesson. You are a Texan (or so I thought)! Texans travel for beef (especially good brisket), BBQ, sometimes for seafood (crawfish, gulf crab, shrimp). Texans do NOT travel for fish and chips. That Tesla rental really got into your heard. Rachel, get him back in line!!😲
And another thing: IF you are so hungry for fish and chips, what you really need is fried catfish and hushpuppies. And the place to go is Hagy's Catfish Hotel on THE river (Tennessee, not the other one that starts with an M) south of Savannah, Tennessee. Worth the drive from almost anywhere. And the caramel pie is the absolute perfect finish. If you need a little exercise afterwards, you could go tour Shiloh National Military Park. Anyway, ready when you are. 😉
Noel, here in the US, we pretty much consider sausage a breakfast food. Like a sausage muffin with egg and cheese or pancakes and sausage. That being said, we will eat it anytime, in a sausage sandwich with peppers and onions. You should try one, Noel. They're really very good. But no, we don't eat sausage with fish and chips, lol! If you want a more British style fish and chips, come up to Boston and hit Quincy Market. It's delicious(PS- I've had English fish and chips up in Manchester. It was very tasty. Only, I prefer fresh squeezed lemon on my fish. Malt vinegar makes me yak!)😂😂
I even enjoyed your taking me with you for (OUR) sausage and chips Noel. The love of fish and chips is alive and well here in Australia too. While we've gone very cosmopolitan in recent years those old British staples are firmly entrenched in our mainstream eating habits. Meat pies are as popular as ever too. Thanks for your videos, much enjoyed!

The amenity kit full of stuff you can use at the hotel is like an advance, "We're very sorry about losing your luggage," gift.
Loved the approach into London... I have never come in from that direction before to see the whole city. Awesome. This airline seems to be pretty good too. Will have to try it some time.
Loved the A330 Neo. It's now my favourite plane. Of course next week I will change my mind lol. Thanks for sharing your travel Noel.

Many people don't seem to notice that most universal power outlets actually now have a usb-c in the middle. I tested it on various airlines (Emirates, China Southern Finnair etc)
A small but great touch
Travels to London for a fish and chips. Gets the sausage. Love it
Chip shop curry sauce and mushy peas is what you need
@@CricketEngland chippy curry or gravy are to die for

had to be the worst fish and chips. do it right mate. where's the paper!
Ciao Noel, I live in Italy Lago Maggiore. I’m soo happy that you made a video about ITA I love their new liverys and planes. I love your channel!🤗
Thanks a lot!
Very sincere, detailed, and respectful review. Appreciate your graciousness in the era of constant sarcasm.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Best fish and chips are in Whitby and seahouses in northumberland where I go.nice video enjoyed your flight
I love that you are recognized around the world by aviation lovers like us 👍
I love how far you'll go for a good meal! I remember you flying from UK to Texas for a steak! My, how times have changed!
Reminds me of my dad (who grew up on the east coast). He came home from a hard week of work at UAL, and he announced that he "had a hankerin' for baked beans."
"Pack your bags, everybody, we're flying to Boston for the weekend!"
As a Brit who’s lived in Australia for the past 12 years, we went back for the first time this year - one of the first things we got was a good Indian take away. 😂
The Aussie haven’t quite mastered it yet!
Think there aren’t too many Bangladeshis in Australia to run these ‘Indian’ restaurants.
I'm pretty sure New Zealand would have an issue with seeds hidden in bookmarks! Looking forward to my own adventure from Manchester to Singapore soon. I've been frantically scrubbing the seeds from my walking boots - not a euphamism
Yes please dont bring any seeds to us in New Zealand. We have a very delicate ecosystem.
Love to see the A330 having a bright future ahead with the NEO
Italy is a great place, but I prefer further north. Turin is one of my favourite places on Planet Earth, and just a stone's throw from the Italian Alps, too. Agree about the fish and chips and we haven't been back to the UK since 2016... Nowhere good to get fish and chips in Manila, although I do make my own pork pies now!
Just don't tell pork pies. 😁
@@TheUtuber999 No, really, I do make my own pork pies, warm water pastry and all!
I love that you keep saying arrivederci for hello when it means goodbye!
From one Brit living in the US to another, I’m disappointed that sausage wasn’t battered!!
And no curry sauce!
@@nico_pen You can keep that!!! :D
Give all the weird stuff to Rachel, she will love it.
Italians have style !!!! ❤
Arrivederci on board 😂 how have the Americans gotten to you that quickly?
Lol exactly 😂
"Hayes & Harlington - Sounds very posh" Thank you for the laugh out loud.
You should have come back up north for fish & chips fried in dripping .
Do you have any idea how hungry I am right now?
Welcome back Noel. We knew the chippy would lure you back sooner or later 😉
They are nothing compared to the Long John Silvers in Hoboken New Jersey!
You should have flown up to Leeds Bradford or Manchester for some great northern fish and chips. They are the best.
With A Piccled onion
The Lancashire Hotpots!!
@@peterpain6625 The best chippie in Texas is the Long John Silvers on 5th and Madison in Waco
@@citrusretna2088 Thanks. Will give that one a try as soon as the travel warning is down.
This man truly makes the absolute perfect videos that I can always easily watch from start to finish. I’ve download like 20 random videos from the channel to watch while on my flight from IAD-GIG (Washington-DC to Rio de Janeiro) next week🤣
Wow, thanks!
Oh god how I miss British chips 😢
I flew on UNITED Polaris - it was lovely - I slept better on United Polaris than I did on Lufthansa first - I absolutely love your videos - I give me a desire to start my videos and live streaming again
Of all the chip shops 😂
Gota hand it to the Italians... They know style... That A330 was sharp looking inside and out
I love the shade of blue on ITA's livery.
It's a beautiful livery!
just how wtf , 5 DAYS ?! lol
@@indyledragon8199ikr
I would have been upset if you had not tried a slice of that pizza! Looks like they nailed the catering.
Did the pilot forget to start the APU 😂
It’s my understanding that the airline is pronounced “e-tah” and not I T A. In fact you can hear the cabin crew say it at about the 17:48 mark or so
I use my VPN to watch UA-cam commercial free 🎉
Love the sausage and chips outside Kwik Fit - you can't get more grounded than that!
hey there i love your videos i wish one day you coud fly to Madeira its so beutiful i live there
American Ignorance has rubbed off since he left UK
I Like The Livery ITA Airways,And I Like Business Class Cabin,I Hope ITA Stays In Skyteam.Great Trip Report
I've flown them back and forth to Japan this year, on their A350, and it was the worst experience I've had so far with an airline. The crew did not interact with the passengers at all, they were impatient and one of the cabin crew was smoking an electronic cigarette in the aft galley. I will avoid them as much as I can.
Very strange. I never heard of this problem. Knowing executives I will make sure to report it. Very sorry
Great vlog as always! Glad the food tasted a lot better than it looked. I thought the lasagne was ice cream. Lol! Keep up the good work. Be safe!
Only Noel would fly to the UK just to have fish + chips 😂
Stunning livery and the interior looks great..
Flew all the way to the UK for fish and chips. Gets one from a kebab shop😪
Stock a coin in the meter, haven't heard that in a long time, takes me back.
I LOVE WHEN YOU MENTION HEB ON YOUR VIDEOS - NOW YOUR A PROPER HOUSTONIAN - YEAH - GOD BLESS YOU AND GOD BLESS HEB
We flew ITA to Rome last year and it was the worst air experience I have ever had. I hope this means they are getting their act together.
They will never improve as long as it has Alitalia genes
Unfortunately sometimes it happens, event ti the best. This year they improved a lot. Being close to the direction of the airline I am very sorry
The welcome drink is not Prosecco. But Spumante, probably a Franciacorta
Noel you’re great. That’s for the easy viewing!
That was an absolutely butter landing at 24:10
Good choice for aerial footage at 23:19, I immediately recognised my house from it! :D
The love of fish and chips is alive and well
here in Australia too. While we've gone very cosmopolitan in recent years those old British staples are firmly entrenched
in our mainstream eating habits. Meat pies are as popular as ever too. Thanks for your videos, much enjoyed!
Nice seeing a fellow Kenyan on the set and also the KQ bird at the London Airport
