make high walls also contribute to tc upkeep cost. that way you primarily nerf bigger teams for once..

Lol so dumb. The cost is worse for solo. Back before rust was so bad. You could build anything you want with no upkeep. So a solo could have a big base without being punished for that by needing to farm upkeep. Zerg don't care, they all farm 1 metal ore each and have 1000000.
As a solo that's stupid, that window gets smaller and smaller
I believe they understand that this is a social game after all. Prioritize that could potentially engage more people to the game

yes let’s make it harder for solos to get bps by taxing t3 T2 so now the only way to get bps is by going to cargo or oil where all the big 8 mans sit at.
Walls should still be instant if under your TC. Base compounds about to be dumb af to put down.

Very small sacrifice to prevent people from spamming tc's in main PVP areas to obtain the quick wall placement when needed
So then all roam areas in snow will be filled by random tcs so that people can instawall. It would be stupid.

Taxing is dumb imo. Decrease the cost of existing craftable guns and add more guns that are only lootable(to be better than craftable guns)

I wish the devs would consult with players, some of the changes have been good, but one or two I am not so happy about.
I think quite a lot of thought goes into the changes they make but yeah the game is evolving for sure
Its their game. dont like it? dont play. I stopped playing when they started scamming hard with pay to win skins and I never came back so I dont care how much you little paypigs whine
No change will ever make 100% of players happy
5-6 years ago they would consult with players.. A LOT. But when they stopped doing that, the game's popularity went up 1000x. How ironic, huh?
the devs are actively and constantly playing incognito on both FP official and community servers to monitor the meta and adjust as needed to keep things fresh

Now you can screw up garage doors in a floorstacked base for good. Door controller won't help.
The grenade wall flip being lost is sad ive made some epic trap and counter plays doing that😢

Hi Drizza, and everyone.
I have 4,000+ Hours on this game, and I was thinking:
A good idea would be adding more T1 and T2 weapons, e.g a "lower quality" sniper rifle such as a Winchester for instance. We already have a lot of T3 weapons and don't need more.
All tho I would love to see more T1&T2 weapons yes, but most importantly, more & NEW AMMOS too, for example the L96 ammunition being the same as for a handcrafted S.A.R.
I would love to see more calibers, because besides the Incendiary, H.V, and Explo variants, there is only 4 real calibers in the game (9mm, 5.56,12ga and Grenades for MGL).
I would love to see something like:
9mm for any pistols & MP5, but NOT the PythonRevolver,
it could be .357mag (since the Python is a pistol with high damage / high recoil gun).
Some classic 5.56 for the S.A.R & M39s
7,62x39 for the AK & LR-300
.308Win for Bolt Action Rifle & this new Winchester Sniper Rifle I suggested to add,
.50BMG for the L96 & all machine guns (HMLG, M249, Minigun)
Etc etc...
I think it would add realism AND challenge.
Because of course the damage rates of these different ammos would vary as well as their crafting costs.
Some 5.56 won't have the same crafting cost nor stats as some 7,62x39 and the .50BMG won't have the same cost nor stats than the 7,62x39, etc...
Instead of trying to ruin the small groups experience's , and pulling out updates to "Nerf big groups" but in reality they do the exact opposite (example: Tech tree taxes), they better focus on the game quality and change this new meta that I call the "pussy meta" (wich consist of running naked to the Outpost , recycle and buy everything you need from the safe and comfort of a SafeZone then rushing back outside slapping a base 1 grid away from the said "safe monument").
Rust is a survival game , what's the point of adding updates that make Death not feared at all, people have 15 bags in 1 grid (congrats on the 15bags limit update, really worked out as you see) so if they die they just come back in the fight within seconds. Etc etc...
Anyway,
Other than that I truly hope Facepunch hears us out.

These ideas are pretty cool but you cannot have realism and challenge with these specific ammo types for those weapons, the IRL LR-300 shoot 5.56 just like the m249, The l96 doesnt shoot 50 BMG, it instead shoots 7.62 x 51 / .308 winchester. The Different Ammo types is a good idea and would add more challenge to the game, but that challenge will really only apply to smaller groups who cant farm ammo as efficiently as larger groups, and it really cannot be realistic.
@@ME-fn4zz I know about what you said on the calibers, but I said those examples for the game, not to be the exact reality, in real life the M249 shoots 5.56 yes but in Rust the M249 should be something like .50BMG because it's the biggest and most powerful weapon in the game (if you don't count this new minigun they just added, which is actually an aircraft minigun lol fun fact) but yeah also you mixed a little bit on the 2 different topics I was suggesting in my comment, I didn't say adding new ammos and weapons would help small groups, I just said it could be a cool new feature and a good update to come with from the devs, better than "hey look walls now take 3sec to place and foundations now can't be spammed for fast sealing mid-raid" basically this new update was taken by the community as a " f-u small groups and solos🤡" from Facepunch. So adding new guns and ammos won't change the current state of the rust "pussy meta" as I call it, but at least it's a better idea than a "f.u everyone 🤡"
Now the 2nd topic I was abording was, basically, I don't have any real strong examples about changing this current pussy meta happening atm, but it definitely needs to change, they defo need to rework outpost and safe zones and monuments, etc...et

Upgradable weapon platforms would be smart too.
Have it start crappy on T1, then upgrade it and bam. T2. Then slowly build to T3.
Instead, we have crap guns that never get used again while a couple are highly sought.
I do VERY MUCH like the TC auth, the fact that you can now demiolish walls. (why that was not a thing before is beyond me)
But why do we need to always nerf stuff when we do fix stuff. Did any one ever complain about being able to instant wall?
I like that the MLRS timer went up. And the door controller stuff.

Only one complaining about insta walls is pvp bums that can't get a kill on this baby recoil mode already.

I just want them to add a QOL feature where whatever code you used on the TC (for example 1234) will automatically auth every player on every door with the same code. Then if you wanted to have a different door to be inaccessible to certain players for whatever reason, you’d place the door, input a different code and only players who know the code can use it.
Last night I placed like 30 doors throughout base and it’s so boring for teammates having to go through every door adding codes.
30 doors take like 2 mins if that to auth on. Get over it brah.

We will still have to manually put codes in for 30 doors.

I will always say that the worst thing about this game is the aimcone mechanic (besides the performance). I miss rust legacy where every shot was dead accurate so whoever had the better aim would straight up win.
They just changed the first 4 shots on aimcone it should be better now

Recently just started with my gf (200h/70h) so im either in a noob duo or a noob solo. Getting into that game is already hard enough considering you get shat on by bigger teams all day anyway. Scrap is kind of limited anyway early on (later small monuments get emptier) so i probably wont ever get proper tech until a couple days in. Its such a fun game but its just too hard to get into and its all just favoring big groups. Plaiyng in big groups is just unfun though, youre mostly invincible roaming and killing all the people that just want to farm and all.
This update sounds like im already gonna quit again, looking at the direction the devs seemingly want to go. (And no, solo only servers are boring as well)
You really gotta pick and choose the right servers to play on as a solo or duo. Stevious 2x are great or any community trio servers
Cant escape taxes..even in Rust.
I always play solo, the satisfaction of making a play as a solo is incomparable to being in a team.

If before you could just use it with one button, now you need a power source
@@goldman_ya This makes it infinitely better. For multi doors you have always needed a power source. With this you do not need an HBF sensor to ensure only authed people can open/close doors. Additionally if you did use door controllers before, they only toggled which some opened first before closing again.
Now with no need for HBFS and the option to close you could wire this on a smart switch and have the option to close all doors for the low cost of 1 power per door.
Btw it needed way more electrical components to setup up if you wanted it to work correctly
Old: 3-4 branches, 2 AND switches, button/switch, HBFS
New: 1branch, switch
@@heinrich3326 Now you also need a constant power source, and if someone destroys it all doors will stay as they are, Before if someone destroyed power source everything just closed
@@goldman_ya Thats assuming you do not have back up battery power in your base which is almost a standard to electricity in the game.
Also if it is wired to closed on the controller no door will be open if you are being raided, because you would pull the switch that closes them or have closed them before logging.
Additionally you can automate this with HBFS. When non authorised players enter a section of your base or compound it triggers the controller to close any open door. Crisis averted

Rust lost its survival spirit... after team update its dead game for me... 6kh solo experience... Its just too oblivious they only want big teams to bring new people buying skins, but oldschool player base is dead... new players are afking in big team bases skinning weapons... and sometimes look from roof... Raids mainly offline.. bad game experience...
Idk about "meta change." Facepunch clearly doesn't care about its hardcore community any more. Still waiting on recoil to become learnable again, but we all know thats not gonna happen
There are multiple metas within a game like rust and not everyone can be pleased but i did hear something about gunplay changes coming soon hopefully it's good
@Drizzza what meta you talking about farming scrap??? It always been about scrap since they introduced the tech tree. I believe the tech tree ruined the game along with the recoil change 2 years ago. Facepunch devs are far from what they used to be. Rust is in ruins.
