It really is hard not to be a fan of Dolly. Even if you're not a country music fan. She is the real deal. Talented as hell, great writer, singer, and player. And to top it off, a genuinely kind and generous person. A true rarity in the music industry. It's unfortunate, but they don't make em' like that anymore.

I mean, it's tough to not like Dolly for her talent alone. The woman has written over 3000 songs, over 100 of them have charted, and over 25 have gone number one. On top of that, she plays 20 instruments, most of them VERY well. Just a sick talent through and through. Not to mention the woman having a heart of gold and being a very active philanthropist.
I've met Brian down here in Florida several times...he really is this cordial, friendly, engaging with EVERYONE. it is no surprise he is such a success, he's just a legit great down-to-earth guy.
A few years back, a buddy of mine met him in a Florida pub. Said he was super nice, and also told me the regular customers would greet him like Norm from Cheers, lol...
He really is a lovely man - met him in a hotel in the north east a few years ago - he even brought me a drink 👍 a very genuine gentleman
That's awesome. I met Angus, Malcolm, and Phil after a gig in New Jersey back in 2000. Got autographs and photos...very nice guys. Angus and Phil were pretty quiet but cordial. Malcolm was the most outgoing of the three and asked me how the band sounded. I was like, "Uhhh...great??" I was just shocked he was asking ME how THEY sounded. I thought that was the coolest, humblest thing.
We saw Brian get on the bus, but he just waved to everyone. I read later that he's not a big fan of giving out autographs because they usually just end up on eBay, and I really can't blame him because some of those professional autograph seekers are horribly obnoxious.
I hope I get so lucky!
@@keefriff99 People like that ruin it for everyone else. I've always had the feeling these guys are very down to Earth, and are genuinely nice guys. Phil may be the only exception. Could be he is a nice guy, but judging by his misadventures a few years ago, he's not quite as good natured as the rest of the boys, lol.

This goes to show that music genres are not boundaries, but different journeys that can be shared by anyone.
This is absolutely true. You either love music or you don't. If you're locked into just a single genre and can't appreciate anything else, then you aren't interested in music, you're interested in a certain lifestyle. True musicians are fans of music, all kinds, and take influences from everywhere.
This is one of the oddest of meetings. Dolly is pure Country and Brian is pure Hard Rock and Metal but just goes to show that musicians can usually appreciate each others work, especially as they mature.
Brian was in a glam band before ACDC, pigeonholing into genres is infantile and most musicians over the age of 25 just appreciate talent.
Also, Dolly can be metal AF in her persona lol

It's more recent than from when the video was posted but Elton John not only performing on a Metallica song, but also saying Nothing Else Matters is a gorgeous and wonderful song (which brought James Hetfield to the verge of tears) shows how true this statement is.

Brian is how I learned about Bon Scott. When I heard Back in Black when it came out in 1980, I went and bought all their previous albums.
Brian and Bon were fans of each other if you read on AC/DC's history. Brian worked very hard and has earned the love and respect from AC/DC fans around the world he so deserves.

Both of them look incredible and especially for their age. Brian Johnson is one of if not the youngest looking (and sounding) 73 year old men I have ever seen and heard. ....and Dolly Parton is 75. That is freaking incredible. I know that she doesn't hide the fact that she has had surgery to stay ahead of the aging process. But you can still tell how old someone is, even if they have had facial work, in most cases. But she looks fantastic and especially when you acknowledge the fact that she is 75 freaking years old.

Dolly Parton and others have said that Australians 🇦🇺 are so much like Americans 🇺🇸, Dolly said it’s like we’re cousins or brothers and sisters across the ocean 🌊!!!! Which if you think of the regions of the UK 🇬🇧 that most of us were sent out of both to Australia 🇦🇺 and American 🇺🇸 (colonies at the time), we are from the same stock/line of people!!!!! Just a joy of a interview and Dolly has said what a good time they had and how natural their conversation was even after the recording was over!!!!!

I'm a white girl from the south who hates country music. My second concert in 1979 when I was 14 was AC/DC. I'm a metal chick through and through. But I love Dolly. She's one of those people who you love no matter what genre of music you enjoy.

It is incredible, isn't it? Dolly is 75 and Brian is 73. It is hard to believe. When most people think of people being in that age group, they think of people sitting in rocking chairs. But these two people are still just as active now as they were 40 years ago. It is very encouraging.

Brian, who is a legend in his own right, is nevertheless star-struck, but Dolly immediately opens up, clearly enjoys his company and just treats him like some boy she grew up with. It was wonderful to watch two absolute gods of their respective completely different genres getting on so well, and I like to think they have remained great friends.

In these clips, Brian come off as that generous and gentle uncle that everyone loves, and you totally forget he's the lead singer of AC/DC.
There are other Rock stars who are nice and humble off stage, but they are always "ON" when a camera is in them. With Brian, you realize he's just a normal guy and think to yourself "this is me mate, Brian" even if you've never met him
