- Family, friends, fans and band members of AC DC gather at St. Mary's Cathedral in Sydney to farewell AC DC guitarist, Malcolm Young at his funeral held on 28 November, 2017. Brother, Angus Young can be seen carrying a guitar to the hearse as his wife, Linda, son, Ross and daughter, Cara, say their final goodbyes. A bagpipe marching band led the hearse away with renditions of AC DC classic, 'It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll) and 'Waltzing Matilda'.

I wish people would've put their phones away and payed respects by just living in the moment. You don't need to film everything man this was a funeral not a concert or a parade. RIP Malcom.
It’s a joke no respect whatsoever no matter who it is
I agree man.
I would agree !
@@HUFF-N-PUFF-2023 why would you want to watch this video ?
The match is on sky or bt
Angus is the face of AC/DC , and deservedly so, but Malcolm was the heart of the band.
He was the most important part of the machine that has thrilled millions of fans for over 4 decades.
Rock in Peace Mal.
According to Angus there would have been no AC/DC without Malcolm. He said it was Malcolm's idea.

Yes rock in peace Sieur Malcolm

It was a long way to the top, but he made it... rock in peace, Malcolm!
He's probably reading this in rockandrollheaven
No real ACDC fan would believe he went to heaven, he 100% ended up in hell rocking it with Satan dude!
This made me tear up, all the way from 1974 to 2013 he rocked his heart and soul out for all of us to enjoy
I see what you did there
Did you pay the Stevie wright estate for using that opening ? It was the name of his last concert? It is very sad that he passed away. Dementia is a very sad and lonely illness to have to go through. 😢😢😢😢
It is especially hard on the family members who have to watch and not be able to do anything for your Loved one 😢😢😢😢😢 Malcolm you will be missed.
Rest in peace beside your brother George in heaven ❤❤❤. Rock through all time with everyone you meet. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
As an Aussie, I was so touched that the bag-pipes played 'Walzing Matilda'. Born in Scotland, raised in Australia, where the band was started. What could be more appropriate? That was cool when they started playing the bag-pipe break from 'Long Way to the Top'. Thanks for all the fun, Malcolm. You'll never be forgotten.
I like the guy with the ponytail off to the right of the camera standing there quietly saluting the hearse, then the hand goes back up to salute each and every vehicle that drives past, all with family members in them. Simple respect.
Totally agree. He was the one person who paid respects. Sad that we've turned into a world of phones rather than watching and acting accordingly.
Made me cry this guy....he represents our sadness and respect....
I noticed that too. God Bless 🙌
Profondément affectée...
That's how it should be done saluting great guy it broke my heart when malcolm died I cried all day I'm from the uk but every year I remember malcolm
The Late Malcolm Young was a musical genius, and the best rhythm guitarist ever.
And in spite of all his well deserved success and fame, Malcolm always remained humble and modest.
R.I.P. Malcolm Young
Sorry it was sad to lose yet another Rock icon but Rick Parfitt in my eyes was the greatest rhythm guitarist bar none!!
@@piledriver6365 It's subjective, dude.
@@piledriver6365 just let the man write a nice message to a late great guitarist. Who cares that you have a different opinion on who the best rhythm guitarist is. just like comment and move on
@@piledriver6365what a stupid shit ass comment to leave lol what a douchebag
Hearing bagpipes makes me proud to be Scottish! Cold shivers
I'm an aussie through and through , and they give me goosebumps !
Dear Mal , you are so very loved and missed 💖
I was at the doctor office getting some injections in my hands for pain and an AC/DC song came on my doctor and I both were singing the words together and then we were laughing talking about awesome the band is.... got home later that afternoon found out that Malcolm had passed away. It was so serendipitous... Not like I talk about music or AC/DC to my doctor normally so it felt very odd and wonderful at the same time.
Did the injections for your hands work out?
@@rabarebra they did for a little while but they were started to give me migraines from the prednisone I think, and then I’ve been playing guitar more again and that seems to be helping the injections did help but unfortunately the side effect for me was I think I do believe I’m not absolutely positive but I believe it was a migraine
Absolutely started crying when the bagpipes started playing “Long Way To The Top”, we miss you so much Mal. God Speed mate

The look on Angus‘s face when he stood at the back of that hearse to this day still gets me teary. I know this is weird to say but I would have loved to have been there as a fan and a friend. Even though they don’t know me, would have been a privilege to have said goodbye to Malcolm. The proper way not thru the internet. But just know this Malcolm, you will always be in our hearts. You will always be there in spirit at every single concert, all around the world. Through every friend who knew you and loved you. As a guitar player and as a person.
This is also me.

I didn't know they played a bit of "It's a Long Way to The Top". R.I.P. Malcolm, you were the best...
As soon as I noticed it, I started balling. What a tribute 👏
Better than Highway to Hell. I am sure he was on his way up to jam with Bon.
Yeah just a short piece starting at 1:36 . I was surprised they played Waltzing Matilda because everyone keeps saying they are Scottish and didnt consider themselves as Aussies. Sorry I grew up with movies and not bands, but I got to be their backstage security guard in the 1990s in Adelaide for 1 night.
Its really so sad to lose your brother specially when both have spent all their live for a band ac dc for ever the legends of rock and roll.....
Makes me so sad to see this. As a teenager growing up in America his music was such a huge part of my life. Those grooves were just amazing and stuck with you. Malcolm was an absolute legend. R.I.P.
a very simple and authentic person, without attachment to material things, he was never seen flaunting wealth, a true musician that we are going to miss a lot, fly high malcom mission accomplished, you left acdc as a true rock legend, for me the best of all

Hello from France guys✋🏻🇨🇵
A nod to their heritage, respect.
Malcolm you live in my heart 💖💖💖
Rock in Peace, Mal. You are missed. ⚡️🤘🤘🤘
Agora ele vai pro colo do seu mestre .
AC DC was the first band we seen in 1976 that they had cordless guitars and cordless mics. It was at Market square Arena Indianapolis Indiana. They went completely around the top floor of the Arena. We were blown away we thought how can they get a cord that long. When everybody at the concert realized it was cordless we all went crazy. After that most bands went to cordless microphones and guitars. Thank you AC DC for the fond memories. By the way I've seen them three times
haha that would have been a spin out. I saw them and remember Angus popping up at the other end of the stadium. imagine how much the guy run around every night with shows almost every night?
funny tho how everyone uses wireless mics but most bands would never think of moving anywhere anyway
I'm from New Zealand, I've been a AC/DC fan for decades, this is very hard to watch, saw AC/DC in 1991, at Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland NZ have never forgotten it. 45 thousand people. I have the Live At River Plate Blu-Ray, and other AC/DC Dvds and vinyl, the hardest part is seeing, the pyro go up, and Malcolm looks so scared. He's in heaven, nothing more to be scared of. Bless his heart.
My mom seen them in 1991, she was at Donnington Park. She’s from Scotland she immigrated to America in the 70s, so she’s been to an AC/DC show or two with Bon Scott as well, a beautiful biracial immigrant, (race has nothing to do with it I know) she told me about the show because she coincidentally was there visiting some family and decided to go. And then in 1997 during the Ballbreaker tour her and my dad went, and she got pregnant with me. I’m her sixth child. She went to AC/DC shows pregnant about four times. So four out of six of her kids pretty much have AC/DC flowing in their blood. The other two they were not touring at the time. I know that’s an over share but it’s literally in my blood because I love them. That’s why this video is so sentimental to me. I can’t imagine what this must mean to Angus. And how horrible and scared he must feel when he watches it over.
I saw both Dallas Texas shows in '91. You could tell how malcom played he was the driving force and who kept the rhythm section, drums, etc together
What a beautiful send off. Gentle hugs for Angus, his family & the band
My Scottish heritage kicks in when I hear those pipes. All my teen memories of those awesome songs.🏴🙏🏻😢
I spent more than half of my life with these men, on my TV radio, live concerts etc... I am so glad they shared this because rock and roll is like a family. Help us all get it back We need his spirit
Bawling my eyes out here. Been 3and a half years and the loss is still so goddamn raw. Will it ever stop??
