  • Rain and mud. Vermont is depressing. Hiked 19 miles in slop and rain. Rocks and roots too

I am in New England - those rain storms the last few days were crazy and very uncommon. Hope you have smooth sailing for the rest of your trip

Last! You are doing great, this is difficult terrain and the weather conditions kinda suck lately for sure. Keep plugging my friend, I’m cheering you on! 🐜

Good (Thursday) Morning to you on your adventurous summer (A.T.) backcountry hike. UA-cam algorithms led me to see and "listen" to your video this morning.
It is ( Thurs. 6.27.24 8:46am MST Boise, ID = 10:46am EST) I'm a New Englander, born and educated in Connecticut and lived most of my life in N.H. and in Portland, Maine area. In the 1990's, I did an early summer morning weekend backcountry solo hike on the (Maine) "Speck Pond Mountain Trail" If my memory is correct, this little mountain pond is at the (Speck Pond A.T. Shelter area) as I met summer A.T. thru hikers at this shelter. Speck Pond mountain shelter (A.T.) Trail is western Maine, in the vicinity of the Mahoosic section ( AKA " The Hardest Mile on the Trail") as many thru hikers have remembered it, anyways when I saw your video of the Trail conditions after heavy rains, I sighed and emphasized , knowing you would have to splash your journey through wet slippery A.T. trails. Ugh! I think and believe , some hiking in sandals is preferable than wet sneakers. I'm glad you made it to the Stratton, VT (A.T.) hikers home hostel for a day of bodily rest from the Trail, I will subscribe to your channel, and will look for your A.T. Trail updates. Shalom to you, in the LORD! Dennis

Don’t lose faith! Of all your 63 episodes, you seemed more down yesterday than ever before. I’m glad you rose up and carried on. Lots of people are rooting for you. Stay strong and don’t lose the joy in the small things that make hiking so special! I truly love how you always appreciate the little things even when it’s cold, steep, hot, wet, muddy, rocky….!
