To the people who think that this is Surya Namaskar: It's actually the traditional yogic Chandra Namaskar. It has 14 poses, for the 14 Tithis (phases) of the moon, just like Surya Namaskar has 12 poses for the 12 months of the year. It is similar to the classical Surya Namaskar but with added the half moon poses in between. The second moon salutation is a choreography, a modern composition of poses. Marta S Thx! I would not make many repetitions of moon salutations. Sun salutations are better for multiple rounds. But I don't think many people can do multiple moon salutations anyway. Always listen to your body and feel what it needs.

I have one query how many rounds we are supposed to do it .l want to say I am doing 50 surynamskar daily for weight loss & if I have to add this in my work out then how many repitations I am supposed to it & how much time one should stay in that pose.does adding it will block wt loss effect of surynamskar.or doing both does it will give proper shape to body.(2) I do sunsalutation with chanting mantra is there also mantra for moon salutations if yes please guide me or share a link
I would not recommend Moon Salutations for losing weight, because Moon is cool and is supposed to affect the mind not the body. Moon salutation makes you introvert, while Sun salutations make one extrovert. So for weight lost I would stick to 12 rounds of Sun Salutation, 4 slow, 4 medium and 4 fast.
