- This is "Is It Still Playable" the series where i go back and play older games to see if they are still playable as of today. In this series i talk about hackers, connection, player base, as well as other various subjects revolving the game featured.
This time I'm revisiting Black ops 2 as it was requested numerous times. Threw it up ion the voting poll and the game won by a landslide. So you guys must really want me to check this game out once more... and that is exactly what i have done.

Plutonium, assuming it’s not taken down, is the only real way to properly experience the multiplayer of this and other CoD games today. It’s sad to see these titles become shells of their former selves since they were so prolific in the seventh-gen, but I still have fond memories playing this game
not really,plutonium is filled with sweats and in most servers you can't play whatever you like because of stupid rules,the og experience is sadly gone.
+ i like matchmaking more rather than a server browser,only matchmaking can make a truly random experience.
I mainly just play bots on these older cod games due to the amount of hackers in them. Bots give me all of the fun but none of the assholes too!
The map vote system sometimes doesn't works because black ops 2 sometimes uses dedicated servers (yes you read correctly) and for some reason without a real p2p connection with a player acting as a host,the map vote system stops to work as intended.
I figured out this because i had mods on my ps3 (mainly for free games and protection against other cheaters) and when the map vote system doesn't work i noticed that i can't see anyone else's ip in a lobby,everyone had the same ip,pointing to a dedicated server when i searched that ip with an ip lookup.
And because you choose "best connection" the game only connects to the dedicated server near you,but the reality is,this servers are barely used because most of the time the game just rely to the old p2p system,for some reason.
So this dedicated servers are used as a backup system if nobody has a good enough connection but a the same time they all need to be close to that server to establish the connection instead p2p.
Yes the choice between p2p and dedicated server seems mainly a random decision by the game,and i don't know if the Xbox 360 version of the game also has dedicated servers.
Fun fact: you can't end the game when using mods and when you are in a dedicated server lobby and you also can't crash the lobby.
I found a pattern in hackers where they won’t start modding unless someone else in the lobby is already modding I know the names of most of them and they usually spectate the game for a few seconds and if they don’t find anyone who’s modding they will leave I have a huge respect for those who do that.
The problem starts when you can’t find a other lobby were they aren’t modding but apart from that the modding has gotten better
See that's the same thing i would do way back in the day when Cod 4 had hackers. Me and my 2 friends all had the hacks but never used them until someone on the opposing team did. Outside of that we had never used them except for private matches. I never saw the point of hacking video games. It's not even like clever for trolling
totally unrelated but did you know castlevania curse of darkness has a few mangas? I found them at my local game store yesterday they go for a stupid amount but apparently they exist, which is good for me because I loved the game when l played it last year
Curse of Darkness Manga? No never heard of that. I used to play the hell out of that game back in high school many years ago. It was the last castlevania i liked.
@@FoxParasyte same here I don't care for lords of shadow but I played curse of darkness and lament of innocence in the past two years for the first time and they're pretty good maybe even underrated. I don't hear about them much
The reason why the map voting doesn’t work is when the lobby is on a server host. If there is a person in the game who is host, you can vote. Note: if you are not in a game with a server host, people can pull your ip/ freeze your console.
That makes sense. I've never had people freeze my console though. The only time i ran into a serious issue was in World at War when i was absolutely destroying the enemy team and this rat bastard Doxed me

Anyone and everyone on any Xbox that runs bo2 can acquire a mod menu watching 2 video in theatre mode its literally thd same as someone using one from a jailbreak ps3 or 360
I've heard of it, i think that can actually still be done with the ps3 with zombies.
