- Institute of Public Affairs Brianna McKee says there is a “free speech crisis” on university campuses.
“What we’ve seen is that universities have policies, and they use terms that are so broad and so subjective that they can be weaponised by activists to censor speech,” Ms McKee told Sky News host James Macpherson.
Universities used to promote critical thinking and stand up for ethics and accountability. That has all gone in favour of staff and student manipulation and a complete dumbing down of courses. When a pass of under 30 % let’s you become a teacher them the future education for our kids looks bleak. It’s all about dollars and image and those that question the University hierarchy are punished through retribution.
All the more reason to go to trade school.

Nobody has a right to not be offended. Offense is taken, not given. Therefore the perpetually offended should look in the mirror rather than trying to shut down the speech of others.
Whatever you do dont look into the correlation between views the largest demographic on campus, women, and the propensity to censor speech in the name of "harm reduction".
Australia has no constuted right to free speech for starters. Secondly university is a place you go to get a degree then get a high paying job thats it.

The issue is that universities have expanded , lowered standards and become very inclusive - that is open to too many people who just aren’t thinkers for vocational training.
Also they’re marketed significantly to the children of totalitarian governments overseas so of course they don’t want anti totalitarian speech on campus.
University is where you get degrees to get a high paying job. Why are you lot so concerned about speech? University is not for that, sit down shut up and piss off after your degree.
