- Welcome to a brand new aircraft tutorial in MSFS, this time covering the study level Airbus A310 by iniBuilds, that has been added to the sim for free as part of the 40th Anniversary Edition update. During the course of the flight from London Gatwick to Glasgow we're going to cover all phases of flight in greatest detail, including a start-up from cold'n'dark state, all FMS functions, simBrief integration, loading of pax, cargo and fuel, the autoflight, navigation and most other systems, and finally the descent, landing and shutdown procedures.
I hope you will enjoy the video and sorry for my post-flu voice this time.

How does the APU fuel supply work? I have heard that it has it's own pump, and can indeed be turned on and running without left inner tank pump on. But I've also heard left inner pump should be turned on...
Yes that's true, the APU has an own fuel pump (the button to the right of the APU Master switch), but it only gets used in case the aircraft isn't connected to External Power.
So when you start the APU from battery power, you use that fuel pump. Otherwise the left inner pump is used. Afaik that should be proper procedures ;) Cheers
Thank you. I come from Boeing PMDG and this tutorial is really good in helping me learn the Airbus . I’m really enjoying the airbus. Thank you, my friend.
That's great to hear, thanks for watching :)
Thank You Sir! Great Video as always! :) Love the way you go through all checks and procedures, just the best!
These videos are great. I love this plane and learning from these videos makes me feel like a pro. Thank you for the detailed info on flying this plane correctly.
Thank you for an instructive video. My 238 passengers landed safely at Glasgow, with not too bumpy a landing!
Very nicely done! The way you explain it makes it seem so easy.
Thanks! Indeed the more often you fly, the easier it gets :)
The best tutorial ever.
Awesome guide, very clear and easy to follow. Keep up the great work om your tutorials !
EXCELLENT ! Thanks for a great tutorial. No manual required. cheers,
Great video, everything explained clearly and straight forward like all your videos.
This is going to be a joy to witness
Nice job. Thank you for this top level tutorial !
Amazing tutorial, thank you!
Excellent! Looking forward to this
Thank you
Great Video! how do you get the views from inside the main cabin?
Thanks! I have a full tutorial covering the views system here: ua-cam.com/video/xHr4cqCJwlo/v-deo.html Regards
I forgot to watch the entire video, only made it 3/4 ish of the way through. Didn’t know how to setup the ils on the approach
Thank you!!
One issue I have seen with the A310 (in fact the only real bug - it's a great add-on otherwise) is that the VNAV is overoptimistic on it's ability to lose speed and altitude on descent. When in Profile mode, I always seem to hit waypoints high and fast, including at the final fix for an ILS approach - usually around 10 miles and 3000 feet AGL. I always end up at least 1000 feet higher and still cooking at ~220 knots. You are better off managing your descent manually.
Yes I noticed that too, but I didn't fly the A310 since a very long time. VNAV had quite some issues back then in general, I hope it improved over the last updates :)
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe Sorry to say it has not. I flew the OAKES2 approach into KOAK Rwy 30 yesterday. That approach has a lot of fixed altitude and speed restrictions. and intentionally let it handle everything. High and fast at pretty much every point. At 6 miles final I was still at 3000 feet, had to go around.
@@acfiv1421 That's a bummer. Inibuilds would blame the age of the aircraft for that behavior I guess ;) Maybe it's kind of realistic, who knows...
Hello, thanks for your video. I am slowly getting familiar with this aricraft. I have used the FBW A320 before. One thing that does not work for me is the scratchpad. When I put values in there, they don't show up, but when I press the corresponding button, they do get inserted. Would you happen to know what the problem might be?
I never had that problem. Are you using the current SU15 beta? Maybe the aircraft needs an update for it.
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe No, I am using the stable release. I might have to add I'm using VR. Haven't tried it without it yet.
@@BenalRida Maybe that's the reason, I'm not using VR so I can't check it out...
Fantastic tutorial thank you! What is wind correction and where did you get the value for it?
Thanks! Wind correction is half the wind component at the arrival airport, e.g. 8 kt corr. for 16 kt wind. You always enter a minimum of 5 and maximum is 20.
Thank you!@@SimulationChannelDeluxe
I've had an increasing interest in the A310. There are some things I've noticed first shouldn't the auto pilot partially disconnect if I hold the control column for more than 30 seconds? Unless Airbus fixed that issue after the Areoflot 593 incident. Also I've intentionally stalled the aircraft to see if letting go of the control column would return it to stable flight and in some cases it worked others it didn't.
Yes, the AP should disconnect when there is user input. I think there's also an option in the EFB for "realistic AP disconnect" afaik. I personally didn't try any abnormal maneuvers with the plane though ;) Regards
Great vid ! How did you get the passenger cabin view @1:03 ??
Thanks! For the "special views" you need to hit "Insert" on your keyboard, then cycle through the views with either A or S, I can't recall now.
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe ok, any add ons required for that?
@@Krtm1-h2n Nope. All your questions should get answered here: ua-cam.com/video/xHr4cqCJwlo/v-deo.html Cheers
Is there a bug regarding certain SIDs? I have tried EKBI with an ABINO6A departure from RWY 27, and I get an odd first three points in the F-PLN over 3000 NM away before returning to BI364 and the rest seeming right. They should represent a short tight close in set of restrictions for an almost emediate right turn, and not go 3000+ NM away. Using latest/current AIRAC from Navigraph. Can anyone else try this out please, and help bug report if needed. Don't know where to do it. Thanks.
How do you get the wing view from the passenger window?
I have a full tutorial covering the views system here: ua-cam.com/video/xHr4cqCJwlo/v-deo.html Regards
is it better now, after the updates ?
Didn't fly the A310 since this tutorial, but I heard that there are still some VNAV quirks and that the sounds are worse now...
For me, it won't follow any waypoints after the end of the SID, either in NAV or HDG mode. Works at the beginning of the SID. Was doing CYYZ-CYHZ/DEDKI5 RAKAM EBONY FUNDY5. I am forced to fly manually until I get closer to the STAR. Please help!
EDIT: Wow, I literally just found a fix for this. To any who need to know what I did, turn off all assist settings (all to hard)!
wiat does this mean you have to turn on the crash thing? because I like to keep that off do just mess around sometime
I have the same issues too
How did you fix the MSFS disappearing cursor problem that's been around since update 5?
Dunno, this didn't happen to me yet.
I turned on the batteries and its started beeping
. so much information and you're absolutely steam rolling through what you're doing.. its obvious that you are intimate with the proceedings, where things are, and why and how things correlate to each other and in what order things need to be done...
unfortunately for someone like myself who has no experience in the a310, no matter how many times i re-watch a certain spot to try to understand, you are just moving so fast that all the information jumbles together and overwhelms me...
maybe you could make a tutorial that you break up into multiple videos and go over the procedures and what each does and the locations and stuff.. maybe, do a video about going from dark to start and then from start through taxi and take off into the climb, then cruise and decent then landing taxi and shut down..... as it is this is so much info crammed into it that i cant make heads or tails of whats going on and/or why even though i have watched areas 3+ times trying to figure it out.
I understand the video is fast paced but sorry, chances are high there won't be new tutorials coming for this bird.
Very nice what program do youm use to get the liveries with no genetic liveries please?
Do you mean the A310 livery or the AI traffic?
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe AI Traffic
@@Pickers19725 In this video it's the default MSFS traffic, enhanced with Aerosoft Simple Traffic for the real life repaints.
How you got the FS2Crew? I want that.
Google for Pushback Express. It's a payware tool by FS2Crew and can be purchased on several stores.
Why does this plane try to ho straight up the whole time
why DH -5?
I heard that they do that for takeoff in real life...
What if you don't have a cute little iPad.....also what if all you Airbus' have this bug where it just turns itself off in mid flight? I even had the AI and already running on the runway and it never fails randomly at some point in the flight the airplane just shuts down, no failures are on. It also does this on the gliders. And I can't get it back on, not even the RB +Right D Pad can get it going, on Xbox One. Also, I just had an up date End of Feb 2023 and now I can't steer my F-18 on the ground to taxi....I just have to gun it and then drop the plane in the sky to enjoy flying it, but man what a turn off.
Not a bug, you most likely hit something on the efb mid flight which reset the plane.. it's a video game so not 100% accurate, and the hornet has a nosewheel steering button behind the stick that you have to turn on in order to use it
worst upgrade ever for xbox
Get a pc
Xbox 😂
@@hopethedawg4609i have xbox gamepass but soon i will have card for pc and xbox
This thing tries to kill you every chance it gets on Xbox lol. I find turning off auto trim helps the stability issues.
I lost my will to live during pre flight.
XD I wouldn't recommend the Boeing 727 then ;)
