I want kids, but I’m so scared to give birth and just everything that goes with it, it just all scares me. Listening to this gave me anxiety but I’m thankful that you shared this with everyone.
The joy and happiness far exceeds any suffering. If you work with your body and don't fear it's amazing power, you can have a peaceful birth. The contractions are intense, but I knew that they were bringing me my baby. Pain was basically gone when I started pushing, and I was happy and smiling while my body pushed her out. No epidural, just my own body pumped with endorphins. This was not my experience, but some women even have orgasms during birth. Wouldn't that be nice! Lol my second felt like fire coming out. He was huge.
My stomach literally just fell into my butt hole at the snipping part, .. I had no idea that was a thing... I just squirmed at the thought of that happening... the nausea is real. Nobody can tell me women aren’t amazing
Stacie Garcia I’ve done some reading since then (and I’m also pregnant now) and apparently it’s something that not a lot of doctors practice because it’s beginning to be deemed barbaric. So I was told that it’s safer to rip and just heal naturally unless it is absolutely necessary to cut. In times where the baby simply would have no room to come out and to minimize bleeding etc. So I definitely do plan to talk to my doctor once I get closer to my due date about their preferred practices
This is the best video ever. Now you know what to expect so you can be ready and not worry if this is normal or not. Congratulations and enjoy your new baby. So exciting!
Iam due next week I should have watched this before getting pregnant.. I cant do anything now😭😭😭 but Still waiting❤ Edit: Maashaallaah❤ My baby girl is now 59 days old😊
Samantha Beckhorn hugs Samantha! Be careful not to read too many horror stories bc the more relaxed you are the easier birth will go most likely. It's scary enough without worst case scenarios running in your head that you've read in preparation. Good luck!
Guuurl this is the pregnancy lessons we need!! Postpartum is no joke! Also edit: I took many baths postpartum - I had a lot of Epsom salt baths to help with the healing.
Not everyone poops, it is very common, but it's nothing to worry about. theres usually a nurse(or 2) in there with the doctor, and if it does happen they have towels ready and just wipe it away with no worries.
I'm 8 months (33 weeks) currently... I'm worried about pooping everywhere. As it stands baby still hasn't turned around... There still time but I'm booked for natural but if by my 36/38 week scan baby still hasn't turned then it will be a c-section.. Which I hear for healing is 10 times worse... Omg what did I get myself into...
Dear, pooping is the least of your worries when you are on that birthing bed. I was so worried about it before I gave birth but when I was on the birthing bed I pooped a whole lot without any care in the world. P.S my husband was there and my sister and the doctor and nurses...
Sierra Helton You're going to be fine. Honestly the pain goes away straight afterwards. The aftermath yes can be a little bit painful but you're body does an amazing thing! You're gonna be fine xxx
You should be but... it’s the most amazing experience you’ll ever have and remember every single detail with the utmost love and affection. In other words? It’s all going to be worth it and just keep telling yourself that as they grow old enough to cause other woes . Both my children were by C section the first by emergency because they almost lost us both. The second was because of the first we learned that I have a very tiny birth canal and my pelvic bones were too small to pass naturally. She was 7 1/2 and 21 inches long the second was 10lbs 3 and 1/2 oz’s and 19 inches long! No way was I ever having that second one normally. I feel like I missed out on not having them vaginally but at same time relieved! The first I was in labor over 40 hours with contractions starting at just 3 mins apart for that many hours. !! The epidurals and spinals were by far the worst pain until relief kicked in . The healing process was a lot longer due to the surgeries and metal stitches. I couldn’t stand upright for months and pain needs barely touched the pain . As long as we’re being honest here thought I’d share my experience 🤷♀️
Dont be once it comes you'll be in a labor mode and fears dont always stay just breathe and you'll be ok!! I delivered two babies and it will hurt but you'll be ok!! You will have a baby to pay for all the pain
I’m 20 and don’t plan on having kids any time soon ( and I won’t have any surprises of a baby) but I still find myself watching these kinds of videos bc I’m terrified of birth 😂
Maci Renee I’m in the same boat! I’m only 20 and don’t plan on having kids any time soon but I find these videos so interesting cause I have to prepare for the future 😂😂
Farm Oribib, Congratulations! I'm due May 2020, first baby. So nervous and anxious about the delivery. I want to know everything I can. Hoping for the best for you and your baby.
You should not use drugs if you don’t need them. These lazy women on their backs moaning. Need gravity to get things going. Epidural should be a last resort but my god that ring of fire. Good job she didn’t go through it.
@@danielwilliams8698 just personal preference! There are potential complications- it could simply not work, the procedure itself can be very uncomfortable, there's the very slim chance of spinal fluid leaks, paralysis, etc. It limits your mobility which ironically most women are more comfortable when they're able to move around. Also it often delays labor- one because of the lack of mobility, and typically you're not very upright so you aren't able to use gravity, and also just the mechanics of the drugs all of which makes you more likely to end up with a c-section. It can cause baby's vitals to slow down (another risk factor indicating a c-section). Also, it can make the pushing phase more difficult (how she talks about guided pushing doesn't need to happen with unmedicated births) and again more likely for intervention such as vacuum, forceps, or episiotomies. Also, there are some statistics indicating babies gave a harder time latching to the breast after an epidural, they may also have a slight delay in breathing on their own. All just for the benefit of less discomfort.
@@danielwilliams8698 It's a personal choice. Ie : I don't want an epidural cause the fact you do not feel the pushing is elevating the risks of having an episiotomy. Episiotomy lead to a longer after birthing process (no sports for 3 months at least in my country), risks of infections and some of the older doctor do what we call here the "husband suture" in which they close your vagina tighter so your husband in happy, but that can lead to pain during sex afterwards. Although I respect any woman giving birth with or without an epi. It's just a question of personal wants and fears :) :)
I was 2 weeks before my 21st bday when I gave birth to my now 6yo. He was an induced birth (emergency). I also found out I was allergic to the epidural medication! So that was a fun time. Those contractions were very very intense. My second birth (shes 9m now) was 100% med free and natural. Took a whole 30 minutes start to finish. The hardest part was pushing between contractions. They only got 1.5 minutes apart. With my first my body was pushing for me at the end. But I would do the second birth a million times over. They didnt make me poop after. They didnt measure my urine output or anything. I was up an hour after after birth to do whatever I wanted. She went to NICU because she was 34 weeks gestation. She was fine and huge. 19in and 6lbs 7oz. If you can go natural. C sections are also a major abdominal surgery. Many woman will swear by an elective c section. But why would you volunteer for a huge surgery!? Everything goes back to normal after birth too. It doesnt stretch out.
Good luck girly!!! I had my daughter four months ago and labor itself was incredibly easy. I had a harder time carrying my daughter then my actual labor. I was dilated to a 8 when I went to the hospital so I couldn’t get an epidural but it honest to god wasn’t bad. The only thing I struggled with was breathing. I didn’t know how to balance between breathing and pushing. I wish you the best of luck!!!!
Tahnee I've always been the same top! I'm 11 weeks now and terrified but I'm sure it will all be okay in the end. Just think of how amazing it will be to have that little mini you 😘 (also talking to myself here hahaha 😂 I'm bricking it)
I pooped on the table 😂 I had a mirror so I could watch and the doctor was very professional she just folded it up in the bed pad. I was paranoid about pooping but when it happened I DID NOT CARE. Of course my boyfriend had to laugh tho 🤦♀️
They gave me a mirror too and I told them to get it away from me after taking a look lol I didn't care if I pooped or not or who was looking cause I was in pain....turned out I did not poop...but no one cares if the women do. The vagina no longer looks like a vagina either lol It's just a big hairy baby head coming out lol at least for me it was. :)
I'm currently 37 weeks with my first child, I'm super nervous about delivery and this video has helped me feel more at ease at what's about to happen here soon than any other video! Thank you so much for sharing!
So the most vivid thing I remember was my first time walking after delivery. Your uterus is still large, but now it’s empty, so when you walk it kinda swings a bit. It grossed me out. Such a horrible feeling.
With my first I had second degree tearing and about a million stitches, could barely walk or sit for 2 weeks. Baby number two, I prepared for a rough recovery... ended with no stitches and I couldnt believe that I could actually sit up and walk straight after birth! I was so thankful for an amazing second labour and birth, after such a horrific first baby
Aimee Wainwright that happened to my with my first! Tons of vagina stitches and pain. I’m pregnant again and you’re giving me hope for a way easier recovery 😂
@@gamingwithgraciemae my gosh.... really? My baby - now toddler is beautiful, always has been, always will be..... I think it's quite obvious, at least to 60 other people that I was referring to the labour, birth and recovery when I say horrific, and not my actual baby 🙄
@@aimeeburke2087 yes i realize that but it was the way the comment was wired that people might not realize that. Cause the horrific is right before baby. Adjectives defines nouns
itzkalani 4life well it’s also possible that she might just not even want kids right? Regardless of whether someone thinks they can withstand the ‘FUN’ side effects pregnancy, some people might just choose not to because they don’t even want kids in the first place
I thought my water broke in the middle of the night...turned out I peed my pants 🙃😂 modesty??? Yeah what’s that. Lmao i feel like you’re in so much pain you just don’t even care. great informational video mama
hope4thesilentplanet mine too! My mom watched my cousin get one. I’m her second child. She saw the doctor grab the scissors during my birth. She said you better catch. She then proceeded to push me out at that moment without a contraction. She was not letting her cut her!
they do not need your consent... if they think you are going to tear up they should do it because you may tear very very deep and bleed like hell (aka dangerous) or they will have to stitch you up to your guts and you do not need that. some people need it some people don't and no one can know until the very moment comes and then they should act fast. so no, they do not need your consent if the need occurs
Something many of us never think about is educating ourselves on the laws applicable and our rights. But it is really important you do in order to make informed decisions. Something that you may consider to be an “obvious legal requirement” may not actually be. I think nowadays most hospitals have strict policies in place in respect of medical staff requiring your consent before any procedures are undertaken. But it is always worth educating yourself beforehand so that you know what is what.
Yes, especially because now there is quite a bit of evidence (studies of many women) that indicates that episiotomies often worsen the tearing. Someone described it as imagine trying to rip a piece of paper. It’s going to rip a lot more easily if there is already a cut in it....
Your first poop after a c-section is TERRIFYING! Also the “massages” on your stomach after having your baby-why does no one talk about how incredibly painful that is!!!
Yuji Kim it’s not really a massage, it’s where they pretty much press down on your stomach(uterus) to help with bleeding and cramping, it’s really painful!
I'm super concerned about some of the information. It didn't seem like you gave consent when given the episiotomy. I'm so sorry you had that experience, it seems your recovery went well and thank you so much for sharing. I just want to encourage all those pregnant going to give birth in hospital that consent should never be assumed.
I didn’t have a choice either. My son had breathing issues as well and had to come out. I’m happy he did what he needed because it got my child out in time. If her daughter had breathing issues too there must have been some indication of fetal stress etc.
Miranda Martin I didn’t hear her mention the baby was in distress or the medical procedure was indicated. Some OB use this very invasive technique as a standard practise. If it was indicated than absolutely for the safety of mom and baby, but if it’s because that is how the OB does it than I caution all moms to get informed prior, or upon arrival to the hospital. If the OB does do episiotomies as a common practice and you do not want to be cut unnecessarily inform them only if required to do so.

I believe in you. As she said in the video, you'll be so exhausted from the pushing that you wont care what happens next. Just, if you have a month before that pregnancy is due, I recommend getting into a calm "go with the flow" mindset so that everything that terrified you in this video, wont be as bad if it happens to you. And she did say it's only a chance some of those things could happen to you. So dont worry too much, you can do it! 😊
If one thinks there's something gross about childbirth, or that there's such a thing as TMI when it comes to childbirth..then they shouldn't even consider becoming a parent. BTW: CAT! 😻
pregnancy IS gross. childbirth IS gross. postpartum is GROSS. mad props to the people who can do it, but i'm never going to.

@@julianne1066 it's an extra stitch or more during the repair process after birth to tighten you back up - for the husband's sexual pleasure. It can have painful consequences for a woman.
Also, about the episiotomy, it's absolutely scandalous that your doctor didn't ask for your permission or at least WARNED YOU before performing it. He shouldn't be allowed to do that!!!
Hemorrhoids are common after birth. I experienced it with two of mine. Also, the warm water bath pan that squirted warm water down there was the best!!!
Great video!! I’m due really soon and nervous as hell, but I’d rather be fully prepared with the realities of it than to be surprised during the labor and delivery. ♥️♥️♥️
Jessica Gomez Both. Its hard to remember but it went better the second time. Probably bc i was more mature and handled the pain better. Labor went pretty quickly. I exercised during the pregnancy and ate well bc I developed gestational diabetes in first trimester. I followed a free postnatal youtube trainer glowbodypt I highly recommend bc I really think it helped me get in better shape and made delivery AND healing easier! Ended up having a drug free labor.
I'm a first time mom. 5 months in 4 to go. And the more I watch vids like this it does help knowing that I'm not alone and there's so many mothers out there with me.
The first postpartum poop was worse than my labor, and my labor was hellacious. I'm pregnant with my second and due in September - absolutely dreading that poop! And the hemorrhoids....ugh.
This has been so helpful but also terrifying. I'm 23 years old and 6months pregnant and soon to be a single mother... I'll have my dad helping with the baby a little bit.. but mostly I'm gonna be on my own.. so I hope and pray my recovery isn't a long process. I'm scared.. but your video has at least made me prepared.
I appreciate the TMI - these are the things that I feel more people should talk about and they don't. So thank you for being so real. It wasn't until a few years ago that I even knew about the whole "pooping on the delivery table thing" and I was (and still am) mortified about that. I also appreciate how real you were about your post-delivery body. No one ever talks about how they felt looking at themselves in the mirror afterwards and if they do its covered in fluff. Thank you for your honesty.
Dont be scared. Read the book ina may gaskin guide to childbirth. I gave birth to 4 babies naturally and 2 of them were breech. Birth is not something to be afraid of

Thank you so much for this honest and detailed video. As you were going through the list, I was repeatedly thinking: "Oh, yes, this too was so uncomfortable for me and nobody had told me it would happen". I feel like pregnancy and childbirth are scary for many reasons as they are and one shouldn't have to suffer being surprised in the critical moments. For all of you out there who haven't delivered yet: if the video scares you, it's only because you haven't been there yet. I've had a natural birth and everything that goes with it and I swear that the feeling of incomparable happiness when you see and hold your baby shadows everything else. Let this video prepare you mentally for some discomfort you will experience but don't think for a second that it might overwhelm you.
Thanks for this very informational video! Good job on explaining all of this and thanks for not wasting your viewers' time jabbering about your experience like so many other UA-camrs... This video was super useful and will definitely help me and many others!

This comment is not to scare anyone who is pregnant or wants to get pregnant. This is my story that my mom shared to me and how it was the most depressing and traumatizing time of her life. So, when I was still inside her, her water broke very early like only a couple weeks after they found out she was pregnant so they thought they’d lose me. But, fortunately they didn’t but little did they know, that wasn’t the last bad thing to go wrong. When I was born I was born 3 almost 4 months early (November) and obviously that can be very dangerous so they put me in the NICU. I apparently had Necrotizing enterocolitis and most of my intestines were dead. So, they had to take 16 inches of my small intestine out. While they did that they put at least 15 tubes everywhere on my body to help me live. I have 6 scars all over my body and one long one across my stomach. I had to stay in the NICU for 5 months and I finally got to go home on St. Patrick’s day. They said that I was supposed to lose all my teeth because they were black from all the medicine they were giving me and that I was supposed to be blind a deaf but luckily the only thing that is bad is that whenever I eat I have major stomach problems but I am very lucky to be alive. I hope no parents have to go through what my parents went through because they said it was just an awful time. If you are going through something just don’t give up hope.

No epidural, just my own body pumped with endorphins. This was not my experience, but some women even have orgasms during birth. Wouldn't that be nice! Lol my second felt like fire coming out. My stomach literally just fell into my butt hole at the snipping part, .. I had no idea that was a thing... I just squirmed at the thought of that happening... the nausea is real. Nobody can tell me women aren’t amazing
I think you can ask them, "if possible please dont do that" cause some doctors do it to speed things up when at times it isn't needed
Amina Love Fell into my butthole 😂😂
Have you heard about how horrible c-sections are ?
Stacie Garcia I’ve done some reading since then (and I’m also pregnant now) and apparently it’s something that not a lot of doctors practice because it’s beginning to be deemed barbaric. So I was told that it’s safer to rip and just heal naturally unless it is absolutely necessary to cut. In times where the baby simply would have no room to come out and to minimize bleeding etc. So I definitely do plan to talk to my doctor once I get closer to my due date about their preferred practices
J K Yes! I’ve read the same now that I’m actually pregnant and not just watching this video out of curiosity lol.
I told my nurse I was scared to poop on the table, she said “pooping is part of the progress” lol wasn’t worried after that lol
TheQueen is it tho? 2 babies and no poop here 🤷🏼♀️
Emmalancey I didn’t poop during my daughter’s birth. But apparently my sister did during all three of hers so it’s probably different for everyone
Octavia Blackthorn it’s always just a coincidence
If you poop it means your pushing properly. I pooped on my doctor. No shame. It happens all the time and they are used to it.

Also edit: I took many baths postpartum - I had a lot of Epsom salt baths to help with the healing.
Did it work?
Not expecting, not even married or in a relationship but still watching!
I'm not married yet. The pooping part during child birth is the one I am most dreadful about. 😬😅
I am terrified of tearing, lol
Dear, pooping is the least of your worries when you are on that birthing bed. I was so worried about it before I gave birth but when I was on the birthing bed I pooped a whole lot without any care in the world. P.S my husband was there and my sister and the doctor and nurses...
U won't care about it...
I am 8 months pregnant and TERRIFIED to give birth. And all the things that come with it.

@@christinam1513 I am due in August and this is my first. Good luck and enjoy the adventure!
6 months ago lmfao.
Are you ready for next month? 🤣
I gave birth to my baby girl last year without an epidural. Trust me,the pushing, the "fire" ring.. god, that pain was really too much.
Why do some people not get an epidural?
@@Ecoali05 alright thanks, useful info
@@danielwilliams8698 It's a personal choice. Ie : I don't want an epidural cause the fact you do not feel the pushing is elevating the risks of having an episiotomy. Episiotomy lead to a longer after birthing process (no sports for 3 months at least in my country), risks of infections and some of the older doctor do what we call here the "husband suture" in which they close your vagina tighter so your husband in happy, but that can lead to pain during sex afterwards.
Although I respect any woman giving birth with or without an epi. It's just a question of personal wants and fears :) :)
I’m 22 and two months pregnant. I’ve always had anxiety about labor since I was a little girl and I’m so scared, so I’m trying to prepare myself 🥺😅
Hey! Im 22 and 2 months pregnant as well!
Just think of how amazing it will be to have that little mini you 😘 (also talking to myself here hahaha 😂 I'm bricking it)
Remember those days, I’m 37 weeks :’( good luck
I pooped on the table 😂 I had a mirror so I could watch and the doctor was very professional she just folded it up in the bed pad. I was paranoid about pooping but when it happened I DID NOT CARE. Of course my boyfriend had to laugh tho 🤦♀️
I also got an episiotomy after pushing for 4 hours and it helped move things along real quick
He's a turd for laughing
They gave me a mirror too and I told them to get it away from me after taking a look lol I didn't care if I pooped or not or who was looking cause I was in pain....turned out I did not poop...but no one cares if the women do. The vagina no longer looks like a vagina either lol It's just a big hairy baby head coming out lol at least for me it was. :)

Every time I hear about an episiotomy without informed consent, my blood boils.
hope4thesilentplanet mine too!
@@ariantoula They have to ask your consent (legally and for ethics) If you prefer to tear, it is you choice to make. Your body
Seriously. Nobody tells you about that. One or two women basically putting their hands inside and outside and pushing on you.... ugh. It hurts.
.....what is this? Why do they need to massage you? And wgat do you mean *inside* and outside?😨
Yuji Kim it’s not really a massage, it’s where they pretty much press down on your stomach(uterus) to help with bleeding and cramping, it’s really painful!
Skylar Susano this was the WORST part of the entire childbirth experience to me! Omg. So painful!!!
I had a baby 3 years ago and have never heard of this! Omg, so sorry for you!

I'm super concerned about some of the information. It didn't seem like you gave consent when given the episiotomy. I'm so sorry you had that experience, it seems your recovery went well and thank you so much for sharing. I just want to encourage all those pregnant going to give birth in hospital that consent should never be assumed.
Melissa in what country?
Yeah I would’ve been horrified.
@@heatherkeaneyrmt8389 She did mention her baby was in NICU for 3 days with issues breathing on its own. So I assume it would be related to that.

Thanks for being honest, I appreciate this as a new expecting mom :)
I love your hilarious depiction of birth 😂😂
I love when you go shopping for yourself. You always buy nice things.
Oh em gee.. you poor thing, gosh 😮 I watched this thinking geez.. anything else? You should be so proud of yourself dear. Child birth is such a sacrifice.. mamas go through so much 💕 Thank you for sharing this x

Gracie Mosko just because it hasn’t happened to you or your mom doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen lol. My mom has had 6 children and she’s told me everything lol and I’m getting ready to have my daughter soon too.

I'm due October 1st. Very scared but also can't wait
OMG I'm giving birth for the 4th time in about a month and I agree with almost everything you said. Now I pee unexpectedly often! My midwife stretched me alot while I was in labour and that hurt but I didn't need to be cut so in the end it was worth it.Also, love love love your cat!
