    Thanks for sharing. I appreciate your input. As a parent of a child with developmental challenges that didn't show up until elementary school age, I am hesitant to take the risk. Because as children grow, things change and if I have too many and all have higher that ordinary needs, i can't begin to imagine how I would be 100% present and available for each child. I get what your saying. But respectfully I think it’s reasonable and fair though for parents to want to save money for the kids they have and be able to have good experiences like vacations and doing things. There is nothing wrong with wanting to have money to have fun with the family you have.

    • @KaylaBuell
      @KaylaBuell  11 днів тому +16

      Money isn’t a bad thing! I also don’t think it’s wrong for parents to want to have money to do fun things with their kids! I totally get that! But I do think it’s something that needs to be consistently discerned because money very quickly becomes an idol and if you’re making decisions like this one in particular based solely on how many extra financial things you can have or give to your children, then I think that may not be the correct heart posture. Just something we all need to pray about and discern for ourselves 🤍

      Sorry for blowing up this comment section but I love this topic. I want to add too that the more children we have had, the more we see how such a gift a new sibling is to our current children. Better than a vacation. Of course there are many many many other factors to consider. But we have four children currently and they truly are best friends. Yes they bicker and fight at times but when they’re older I can never see them saying they wish they only had 2 siblings instead of 3 or 4 and went on another vacation or two. Just another perspective for someone struggling with that dilemma as I have in the past!

    I got pregnant 5 month pp while ebf, I wasnt able to properly track my cycles as they were extremely irregular. I know this is going to be extremely challenging for us but we do have an amazing village.
    We are in Australia so cost of living is WAAAAYYY higher than in America and definitely something we have to be aware of. Purchasing a house when the average house is a million dollars is out of reach for many. The more kids you have the less likely you are to get a rental and being homeless with lots of children seems extremly reckless.

    • @motherthinks
      @motherthinks 11 днів тому +1

      I’m also in Aus so your comment caught my eye - from the recent data I’ve seen the ✨average✨ cost of living in the US is actually higher, but also it’s hard to measure on an individual level as in both countries it’s very dependent on location and such. Moral of the story is that I think every family needs to make a personal decision. I agree with your general points, however!

      @@motherthinks My husband is American and we lived there for 6 years before I came back to Australia in 2023 to be with my family, we lived in the Midwest in the states and moved to the Gold Coast. Both our properties in the USA were around 300-350k. Anything worth buying on the GC is over a million. We spend way more on petrol, food, car registration ($1000 vs $50 lol) BUT healthcare in Australia is universal so definitely much much cheaper than in the states. That being said, we are a year in and still saving for our house - my husband bought his first house in the US 7 years ago at the age of 22, I'm not sure many Aussies could have afforded that at 22 even 7 years ago.

    • @motherthinks
      @motherthinks 11 днів тому

      @ I’m on the GC too, hey local 🫶 Yeah I agree that property market is something that the US is winning at - especially if you consider what you actually get for your buck vs just the price of getting into home ownership. Otherwise it’s a complex comparison, for example QLD is not the best when it comes to wages and while prices here are lower than, say, VIC, it’s not “proportional”.

    I’ve been following Kayla since Riley was 4 and I enjoyed her youtube channel anout everyday life with kids and in pandemic. Back then she seem fresh funny with energy. Eversince she moved to Miami all I see it’s been a gradual downhill - a exaggerated story about Jesus devotionals having more kids and more, growing longer hair dressing „ churchy look”. Life has shifted to religion centered one. It feels like watching amish family. it’s a change that i didn’t see coming and im afraid i will no longer watch this saga of 500 kids plus.

You verbally said “my birth control” for one of the items you were packing. I’m confused. Were you not catholic then?
    Second: it’s okay (and responsible) to consider your own mental health when it comes to having more children. Especially for women who have a history of Post Partum Depression/Anxiety. So do you actively check your ovulations dates and stuff? Because sometimes our bodies can ovulate earlier and later. That’s a risk all the time, especially if you’re using absolutely no protection (not even pull out). So if that’s the case, that stuff can stay in you for up to 6 days. Don’t you have to be kind of perfect in not doing it certain days or do you completely abstain for long periods of time to prevent that?

TMI but our sex life is still amazing and actually way better than if I was on birth control or manipulating my fertility. If we are avoiding pregnancy we abstain 6 days before my ovulation and then after that occurs we have many more days open for sex. As a Christian I guess it's hard for me to understand that if u can't afford more children, u must abstain from sex for most of the month. Even then, a woman could get pregnant. And if there are good reasons not to get pregnant- health reasons, cost, etc....then it would really be risky to have sex at any point in the month. That is not the natural way of things between a husband and a wife- in my opinion. The way u r explaining it, the sole purpose of sex is then to create a child. I am not expecting u to defend this at all- it is just hard to understand it.

    • @KaylaBuell
      @KaylaBuell  11 днів тому

      Yea I totally get where you’re coming from and it’s hard! But 1000% at least as Catholics we believe that God created sex to be unitive between husband and wife AND procreative so you can’t separate one from the other. Not to say that every time you have sex you have to get pregnant but that’s the reason for intimacy between husband and wife. Again, a lot of the resources I linked in the description box explain it so much better than I ever will but I get that it’s hard to understand because i struggled with it for a whileeee!

I kept saying after my 4th no more but after I had him I still had this maternal instinct of feeling like I would love to have another 1. Then due to the loss of my last baby I still knew i wanted another but was fearful understandably but the truth is we plan and god plans and god is the greatest of planners always 😊❤️ oh and the only diff regarding birth control with Muslims is that we can use natural methods such as condoms or pull out method phew 😅 lol but yes baby’s are really the greatest gifts of life. ur videos really do make me smile ❤️
    p.s have been following u since you were pregnant with Jackson as I was pregnant with my 3rd at the time who was also a boy 💙

In my opinion it is. 🙂 And to be forbidden to have sex in fertile days around ovulation is torture, because it's natural to have the greatest desire to have sex. 🙂 So, this is just my opinion and I understand anybody can have different one. 🙂 And I wish you health. I feel like having more would take away from my other two but im also 40, I had energy for it two years ago, but now having a two year old sounds hard, and I’m happy to be done with the baby phase. I have anxiety and I mentally can’t handle anymore, so we do pull out. My husband will not do it inside because he doesn’t want another and with my daughter I ovulated on day 9 when I normally ovulate on day 14, so the woman’s body can ovulate when there is stuff there. Pull out has worked with us, but there is still a chance God willing. We are Christian’s not Catholics.

    You have more fertile years left than you have calculated.
    In perimenopause and in menopause you can still get pregnant. The problem for those women is that the hormonal inbalance which makes natural birth control totally insecure. Should women at 45, 50 or 55 stop haveing sex because they're to old becomeing a mom or just dont want to get pregnant at such an age? Just thoughts,no offense. Everybody do as you like.

      @KaylaBuell  11 днів тому +1

      No offense taken! They’re valid thoughts of yours! I struggle with those thoughts too! The thought of being 45+ and getting pregnant is terrifying, but I’m trusting that if Joe and I work consistently with a good NFP instructor, and abstain during our fertile periods (not forever), we’ll be able to avoid pregnancy and if we don’t, then that’s God’s will for us. I actually know a very faithful couple in our church who has grown children and the mom is 45 and yes, she’s having a baby. I’m sure she’s also terrified, but it’s still a gift 🤍
