The most important mistake you made during the whole video - leaf lover's special is not a beer, it's an elven anti-alcoholic buzzkill drink and therefore you should never ever ever drink it anymore :D Welcome to one of the best coop games this side of the universe, Rock and Stone!
Leaf lover is something all greenbeard would drink only to realise the anti-beer that the company placed for free without any upgrades so to destroy all sort of drunkness during mission.
Remember: your laser pointer is how you give bosco instructions in solo, but in multiplayer it can be used to ping anything along with a context sensetive voiceline, so you can communicate effectively without ever using text or voice chat. Also, if you see people tying "r" it means they are ready to progress an objective or start an event. Also, be careful of purple floating rocks. they summon demons from rips in the fabric of spacetime
So just a few things about this game from a greybeard (and a scout main): 1. Breaking your legs is something every scout will do at least once KEKW 2. To mine minerals high in the walls there are several options. But the most common and expected is usually that the engineer shoots a platform right below it for the scout to get on. 3. If you see green, purple or golden spots on the ground that seem to be shining a little bit, you should mine there to extract a big chunk of minerals. The green one is Jadiz which you need for all kind of upgrades, the golden one is a big gold chunk which gives you around 300 gold and you can ping it to say "We're rich!" to annoy mission control (he will complain at some point, then you rock and stone and deposit it). The purple one is a bittergem which you need to collect 10 in total (overall) for an achievement and it does the same "We're rich!" when pinged. 4. Minerals you mine and deposit give you in general XP. Some of them you need to upgrade your stuff, craft overclocks and promote dwarfs. Gold gives you additional credits (1 gold should be 2 credits iirc), so its not bad in the beginning to collect most of it. I can only recommend to join lobbies, since there are a lot of helpful people in the community and in my almost 1k hours i encountered like maybe 2 or 3 actually toxic people. For guides on different topics like overclocks and weapon builds i would recommend to check out LazyMaybe. For highlevel gameplay and some guides to classes there is for example AxisKronos. There are a few more things i could explain, but for now ROCK AND STONE BROTHA! Ps: if you have any questions, feel free to ask

Another weird wall particle thing to look out for are weird little white balls in the walls which show the presence of an enor pearl. Enor pearls are one of the minerals I find I usually need the most of and have the least of so get as much as you can.
26:58 As a driller main, i can note 2 things: 1) Congrats on thinking up one of Driller's main objectives in the team! There are 2 ways to mine stuff high up on walls as Scout (well 3 if you count Bosco): 1. Engineer has a platform gun that he can shoot to make a spot to stand on. Usually in pubs its custom for the Scout to ping minerals with the laserpointer to signify that they want a platform there. So if you do that people will catch on quickly without you having to type anything in chat 2. If you are solo Scout (or have no Engie) you can grapple up and then power attack (needs pickaxe upgread) at the right angle to break a hole into the wall where you can stand in. It takes a bit of practice tho but if you can do it consistently you can mine pretty much everything solo, i recommend taking hoverboots perk (blue perk) when you practice so you don't die of fall dmg as much Welcome to the game miner, Rock and Stone ! Non-objective stuff, gold, non-nitra minerals, and plants can be used in crafting and unlocking A LOT of stuff. 8:00 - the IFG grenades create an electric field that slows enemies. It deals 0 damage, but enemies are considered 'electrocuted' while in the are, which can be important with certain weapon upgrades.
Totally, dude. I was a big zombies player from WaW to BO4 and given that I haven't been passionate about zombies since BO3, this game on the highest difficulty scratches that itch. I've got hundreds of hours in this game but before I reached hazard 5 I bounced off it for a while
This reminds me of my greenbeard days. When every cave felt bigger, yet smaller. When every aspect of DRG felt grander. When the Rockpox Comet was still in orbit. When i played solo cause i didn’t feel worthy of a team. When i’d drill into a wall during a swarm looking at my terrain scanner in a 225 Morkite mission. When i didn’t know how to operate Bosco. When i had to deal with GOD DAMN *[REDACTED FOR SPOILERS.]* FCK YOU *[REDACTED]* I STILL BEAT YOUR ASS AS A GREENBEARD YOUR CLAWS AND LURE AND SHIELD AIN’T NOTHING WOOOOOOOOOOO Edit: Also just a tip. Leaf Lovers isn’t actual beer. When you get access to Oily Oafs, stop ordering it entirely. If you need to get sober again, just throw yourself into the ring of fire
The music is indeed awesome! It's also on UA-cam and Spotify, if that's your thing. Also, that "bwow" song you heard during extraction is called "Follow Molly", and the sound designer has a making-of video on it! It's super cool; would highly recommend. Rock and Stone! oT
This is the only game I'll say this for. The core of the gameplay comes from playing with randos. Then once you get how everything connects through clicking it with your lazer pointer. Then friends. Love the vid. Keep up the good work. 👍
watching greenbeards experience this game is a sight to behold indeed... also you handled the core stone event pretty well imo. also: gold=cash, nitra=ammo, other non-secondary task-related minerals and plants contribute to XP(and also for upgrades of various kinds).
Even on haz 2 they're relentless enough that running doesn't even help with dodging them, slows like sludge and electricity are probably the only good ways to deal with them.
Super fun video to watch, really enjoyed seeing someone discover the game, truly one of the most wholesome experiences :3 Hope you have fun and enjoy playing for days to come. I would highly recommend switching to hazard 3 once you become more tuned in with the game, as it is probably the closest thing the game has to a “normal” difficulty, but it can be very punishing if you don’t know what one is doing, which no one does when first playing lol From personal experience, having someone who actually knows what’s going on is extremely helpful in getting you kickstarted, especially on higher difficulties, since they can help show where to go and what to do in stressful situations. Like how not to run off a cliff and die of fall damage (been there and done that, so many times lmao). I personally can fill that in if you would like, or don’t have a friend to fill the role (no shame in that at all, just making an honest offer) But most importantly, do what’s fun, even if it isn’t considered optimal. Weapon builds will work no matter how dumb they are, and the dumb ones are almost always the best to play with. I salute you, rock and stone.
@@GriffithRex thanks GRIFFFFIIIIITHHHHHH, I agree the best of any game is the first part. Honestly part of the reason I record the first time I try anything, you can’t get that feeling back
12:28 - you can use your grapple to move down, it completely negate fall damage. (unless you let go too soon) 12:49 - depends on class. For a Scout I would personally step back away from the wall then grapple towards it. Finally, release the grapple and power attack the wall to carve out a hole to stand in. If done right (difficult timing) you end up standing in the hole you just carved out. Other option would be to carve out stairs to reach it. Then again, if you weren't alone other classes could provide platforms, drill up to it, or create a zipline.
management only cares about morkite, any other mineral you mine (except nitra, naturally) you get to keep in your pockets btw some people may say that mining gold is "inefficient" and "time wasting" - don't listen to them, it's fricking GOLD, man! (unless a game host wants to do mission AFAP ofc, shouldn't make them wait)
Well if you want to make credits fast, it is infact more efficient to skip all gold (unless you have to wait for something to finish) and do missions fast. However that does require a certain level of experience, so you dont get lost
11:20 - there is a small gold and/or xp benefit for mining certain extra minerals. Gold is just credits Some minerals are used for crafting weapon upgrades, so collecting these is useful for you plants such as Malt stars, barley bulbs, yeast cones, etc. are used to unlock and brew new beers.
See I'm not in pain because he doesn't throw his flares. I'm not in pain because he doesn't do this or that. I'm not in pain for any of that skill issue stuff. I'm in pain watching this man enjoy a Leaf Lovers Special
@@3eeexton Don't feel that way, going down is actually pretty normal, case in point: real players can revive their teammates an unlimited number of times. You can start feeling bad when you go down in a haz 1 mission with fully upgraded gear...
The games pretty good with randoms as well, you just have to look at the hazard levels before joining because getting rolled in haz 4-5 or even higher with new modifiers to start probably won't be any fun, 3 should be fine in most cases. Also looking out for the description for modded stuff could be good because sometimes people play lower hazards with modded in crazy spawnrates as modding is kind of integrated into drg. Or well ignore it entirely and host your own lol. What makes it good with randoms is that the laser pointer is extremely versatile to communicate almost anything you want.

Welcome to the company, green beard! If you don’t have friends that have signed a contract with DRG you should still try playing with randoms. I’ve only ever ran into maybe 4 or 5 toxic players in almost 1500 hours. Most of us greybeards love showing the greenbeards the ropes! I do have two friends that play with me now but it took two years of begging them (and gifting them the game) to try it out, but they absolutely love it now! But my 1000 hours before that I had such a positive and fun experience with randoms. This community is probably the best in all of gaming.
The apex to deep rock pipeline is well studied. Personally DRG didn’t hook me until I started unlocking new weapons and joining random lobbies but after that the progression becomes irresistible.
Lowkey right there with you. First playthrough was fun but didn’t immediately hook me. The community seems so cool that I might have to give it another shot. Also apex to drg pipeline is funny the apex pipeline shoots all away

@@3eeexton and there's no better time to start playing than now. The new season just started at 7:00 a.m. Eastern.
This was very enjoyable to watch! Thanks for sharing! :D
Thx for saying that! 😁
BOOLOO CAP HEAAGH
@anactualfish2397 ROCK AND BOOLO CAP!!!!
8:00 - the IFG grenades create an electric field that slows enemies. It deals 0 damage, but enemies are considered 'electrocuted' while in the are, which can be important with certain weapon upgrades.
From an early days vet in DRG, welcome to the company. Maybe sometime we’ll catch each other on the rig and have a drink. ✌️
🍻😁
Totally, dude. I was a big zombies player from WaW to BO4 and given that I haven't been passionate about zombies since BO3, this game on the highest difficulty scratches that itch. I've got hundreds of hours in this game but before I reached hazard 5 I bounced off it for a while
You can pet the mule by mashing the escape button instead of holding it
This reminds me of my greenbeard days. When i had to deal with GOD DAMN *[REDACTED FOR SPOILERS.]* FCK YOU *[REDACTED]* I STILL BEAT YOUR ASS AS A GREENBEARD YOUR CLAWS AND LURE AND SHIELD AIN’T NOTHING WOOOOOOOOOOO
Edit: Also just a tip.
Rock and Stone! oT
Good looks o7
Super fun video to watch, really enjoyed seeing someone discover the game, truly one of the most wholesome experiences :3
Hope you have fun and enjoy playing for days to come. I would highly recommend switching to hazard 3 once you become more tuned in with the game, as it is probably the closest thing the game has to a “normal” difficulty, but it can be very punishing if you don’t know what one is doing, which no one does when first playing lol
From personal experience, having someone who actually knows what’s going on is extremely helpful in getting you kickstarted, especially on higher difficulties, since they can help show where to go and what to do in stressful situations. Like how not to run off a cliff and die of fall damage (been there and done that, so many times lmao). I personally can fill that in if you would like, or don’t have a friend to fill the role (no shame in that at all, just making an honest offer)
But most importantly, do what’s fun, even if it isn’t considered optimal. Weapon builds will work no matter how dumb they are, and the dumb ones are almost always the best to play with.
I salute you, rock and stone.
@@GriffithRex thanks GRIFFFFIIIIITHHHHHH, I agree the best of any game is the first part. Honestly part of the reason I record the first time I try anything, you can’t get that feeling back
Highly recommend coming back to this game with some friends
Oh yeah, that’s gotta happen
12:28 - you can use your grapple to move down, it completely negate fall damage. (unless you let go too soon)
12:49 - depends on class.
We fight. We mine. For rock and stone.
management only cares about morkite, any other mineral you mine (except nitra, naturally) you get to keep in your pockets
btw some people may say that mining gold is "inefficient" and "time wasting" - don't listen to them, it's fricking GOLD, man!
(unless a game host wants to do mission AFAP ofc, shouldn't make them wait)
Well if you want to make credits fast, it is infact more efficient to skip all gold (unless you have to wait for something to finish) and do missions fast. However that does require a certain level of experience, so you dont get lost
@@speshul_thetoxicmonke1679 eh, me dwarven heart loves some gold
Depends, if you like the feeling of mining gold, do so. Some of us doesn’t like how slow it is to mine.
Or if the bugs are just super aggressive the whole mission. I've had H3 missions feel like H4 or 4.5 because of that.
We're Rich!
Your commentary is top tier & your giggles are so innocent lmao
1:50 deep rock has so many objects you can pet you can’t even imagine, most of the time you’ll never know you can pet until you try it.
As a greybeard, very important tip. If you see a chunk of compressed gold, you need to ping it with the laser pointer as many times as possible.
FIRE tip bro thank you
It cracked me up watching you walk right past the morkite on the second mission
Ah, to experience this game for the first time. You did well greenbeard! Rockity Rock and Stone!
There’s no time like the first 😌 rock me like a stone miner!
It's inexplicably funny seeing you try to get headshots on the enemies with big glowing bits
11:20 - there is a small gold and/or xp benefit for mining certain extra minerals.
Gold is just credits
Some minerals are used for crafting weapon upgrades, so collecting these is useful for you
plants such as Malt stars, barley bulbs, yeast cones, etc. are used to unlock and brew new beers.
"The human desire to pet inanimate objects" man you´ll be surprised about all the things this game lets you pet ^^
It’s always fun watching new players getting scared by swarmers or grunts.
Rock and Stone!!! It never gets old...
Always glad to have another dwarf around. I've only ever seen a comunity this amazing in Star Citizen and DRG.
such a pleasure to see someone experience the game for the first time, and the callbacks to yogscast was cool af. Rock and Stone!!
@@jakolken7131 rock n STONE o7
See I'm not in pain because he doesn't throw his flares. I'm not in pain because he doesn't do this or that. I'm not in pain for any of that skill issue stuff.
I'm in pain watching this man enjoy a Leaf Lovers Special
Good job beating a core stone on your second mission! Those things are tough.
Thx bro, I had a revive so I feel almost like I cheated, but we take it 💪
@@3eeexton Don't feel that way, going down is actually pretty normal, case in point: real players can revive their teammates an unlimited number of times.
You can start feeling bad when you go down in a haz 1 mission with fully upgraded gear...
@@3eeextondying is part of the game. When you play with other players you have unlimited revives.
@@3eeextondo NOT be ashamed of dying. It is part of the learning process.
Welcome miner!
Take a beer, take your pickaxe, grab some weapons, mine some minerals, leave no dwarf behind and ROCK AND STONE FOREVER!
Thanks miner! ROCK N STONE ⛏️
Rock and Stone, miner!
Blind core stone with no upgrades is hella impressive
All praise goes to bosco
Did i hear a rock and stone?
Rockity rock n stone!
YEAH! ROCK AND STONE!
Oh my gosh it's so fun to watch greenbeards learn how to play. Rock and Stone, Brother!
Rock n stone!
Welcome to the team Brother!
rock n stone brother 🫡
The yogs cast diggy hole song was taken over by a dwarth themed metal band. I think called hammer fall it's their hardest song by far
Good time to start playing the game because the most recent major update happened a week ago. Also you didnt pet one lootbug 😭
You CCAN PET THEM?! 😩😩 I’m a monster
You can pet lootbugs, Doretta’s head and Hack-c which will appear in later missions, and most other friendly creatures with E. Not maggots though.
pretty accurate to be drinking a leaf lovers after your first mission. Lmao
Him doing a mission was fine and all, but when he dropped the beer mug and then started giggling when he learned he could pick it back up (17:00)
that's when he became one of us ✊
Miner, you video was very well done and I am very glad to have found your channel. Rock and Stone you beautiful Dwarf
And I love how everyone just likes Molly from the beginning. Such a cutie
Also this game thrives on teamplay, so definetly recommend getting people to play with, or going with the join feature
And fellas, let's forgive him for drinking Leafs Lovers Special. He didn't know what it was yet (also refrain from bullying Lloyd)
This greenbeard brother is chugging Leaf Lover's Specials in the Space Rig alone. It's less alcoholic than water! 😂
WELCOME TO THE CAVES FELLOW MINER!
(deep rock goes on sale frequently you should buy it)
ROCK AND STONE!
it has been done! (my brother watched my video and bought it for my broke ass) 💀
12:49 Each dwarf has a way honestly
Scouts can grapple into a wall by Power striking a divot near the high minerals
Engineer's Traversal tool is a Plaform gun so they can just make stairs
Gunners have the Line Launcher so they can slowly ride towards them
And drillers can go towards the nearest wall and carve their stairs up
Rock and Stone!
One more thing I forgot to add: ROCK AND STONE!!!
ROCK! AND! STONE!
Also, thanks for getting 'Piano Man' stuck in my head. XD
ROCK N STONE BROTHER!
And I would apologize but in todays age there are far worse songs to get stuck in your head 😭
Something that will help is probably to set your FOV higher. It will help with overall awareness
I’m very jealous of you being able to experience this blind. Genuinely one of my if not my favourite games of all time.
I try my best to stay away from spoilers of games i think I would like. There as are many amazing games I’m looking to try
Always love seeing a greenbeard get into the game, would love to see more!
Rock and Stone!
