Mining missions and point extraction all increase frequency of swarms the longer you stay in the mission. Not all mission types do this. Egg collection, for example, will spawn mini swarms but only real ones come from the eggs and even then there are a fixed amount per run.
@@PRC533 I don’t think the frequency of a swarm occurring increases as time goes on, but I believe, correct me if I’m wrong, that the amount of enemies increases. A constant swarm doesn’t happen if you stall point extraction, but the ambient waves of enemies get exponentially more enemies, let alone a swarm. Not denying what you said, but I don’t think it works that way.
seeing greenbeards sing praises to this game will never get old haha small tip: use your laser tool (Ctrl) to ping virtually anything that you come across for some usefull and sometimes funny dialog, especially for gold chunks and mushrooms (you'll know you're pinging the right mushroom when your dwarf says mushroom), repeatedly pinging it will give you team morale and a special surprise ;)
Just make sure you don't miss the perk system. In your room the screen opposite to the character selection screen you can claim perk points for completing milestones and spend them in the next menu in the same terminal just click the perk tab at the top of the screen. You equip perks in the equipment terminal where you change your loadout in the top left part of the screen next to your weapons. I literally didn't know this for the longest time and some perks can be really helpful.
Thanks you bro, I found it right after this video but you’re so right, there are like a trillion terminals in this game it is overwhelming for a greenbeard
DRG is just so fun. Even when the game was in beta it was awesome. Getting lost because the map wasn't really mapping. Adding stress of the aliens and timer of the pod leaving. It was and is awesome.
As a Gunner main i got some tips for you: 1. Your sticky nade causes fear when you stick it on bugs directly. Fear causes the bugs to move away without attacking for 10m from the fear source so think of it like a form of soft crowd control! Its useful to turn praetorians around (the big spitty bugs), but their face is also a weak spot so you don't HAVE to do it. Oppressors (the earth bender) are immune to fear (the fear resistance value is just high) 2. Your shield also causes a fear effect on everything but the value is REALLY high (like a thousand or so iirc) so it does fear EVERYTHING, including bugs that are "immune" to fear effects. So they will move out of the shield and not go inside it, this is useful when you want to turn a bug around or want to block a path way or buy some time for your team! Otherwhise just use your shield when you see you're getting overrun to prevent damage and create safe damage oppertunitys for you and your teammate 3. As Gunner you don't have a good "panic" get away tool so good positioning is key, i recommend the dash perk (blue perk) for this reason to reposition if you get in a bad spot Otherwhise you guys did great, good video :)
The shield made NO sense to me, until I saw someone else use it and it pushed all the bugs away. I didn’t know about the grenade doing that though, that is awesome. And positioning defo seems key for gunner, I love the different play styles
Great production values, but even more than that, your enthusiasm for the game shines through. Came for the DRG and stayed to check out the rest. Really hope your channel takes off, man.
If you keep playing long enough, you will unlock overclocks that further change your weapons too. Some of them completely change how you use some of the weapons, and there are tons of them. The game only gets more fun the longer you play and the more you unlock lol
"What could be better than a Minigun!!??" Alfred's voice, "Yes, master Bruce, I do believe the answer is, now what did Fox call it...? A yes... A handheld, hellfire guided missile system."

DRG has an awesome feature where you can play previous seasons, so you greenbeards can check out the otherworldly nightmares you missed out on. I highly recommend checking it out, and don't worry, it saves your progress and is also completely free to do. It's one of the tabs in the season terminal. Rock and Stone, brother!
@@3eeextonevents from previous events still happen, namely the Rival vaults, Prospector and Lithophage meteors, but much more rarely than the Core Stone.
Do NOT disrespect the zipline. True greybeards know the absolutey invaluable properties of the zipline. We also know that you only start appreciating said values once you start playing on hazard 5. Also, hold out your laser pointer (ctrl) to A: see how much ammo everyone on the team has left and B: to see your teammates through walls. You should also use the laser pointer to tag anything you want people to look at/be aware of, including enemies because it's much easier to keep track of elusive enemies when they are tagged.
6:20 - useful tip: The Drillers Flamethrower doesn't benefit from weakpoint hit. But it also ignore armor, meaning that for the Driller, they don't really have to worry about the green sack. Most other weapons are affected by armor, but also apply extra damage on weakpoints and can also break/remove some armor plates.
Yet another tip: Nitra and objective materials won't give you anything like credits if you have leftovers, but still worth it for the XP from the "Minerals mined" score at the end. Aside from carriable resources like that enor-pearl you found, you don't need to deposit it for it to count for that at the end. Secondary objective progress still needs to be deposited though. So any gold, nitra or upgrade materials like magnite or starch nuts still count if they're in your bag and you extract. Knowing this might save you in case a trip to the side of the drop pod - instead of going straight inside - could end up being fatal.
Most armored guys you can just keep shooting upfront and the armor will eventualy break(exluding earthbenders, large dreadnoughts and some robot enteties such as OMEN tower, caretaker, nemesis and prospector drone. Korlok also has unbreakable armor.) Praetorian also has unarmored head but it takes less damage then to the back. To know when you're hitting the weak spot look at the health bar of enemies. On regular hits it flashes white, but on weakpoint hits it flashes yellow.
13:47 seeing something moving in the dark really genuine could scare anyone, i noticed how you went "oh shit thats scary i gotta run.. wait i have a gun!"

For scout's nade, it makes enemys take 30% more dmg and slows them down by 75%, also enemys in it's radius get the 'electrocuted' debuff, which is more important later. This debuff does not deal dmg, normaly it does, but not from this nade. Also, great video, looking forwoard to the next one. (Btw, kick some barrels under the drop pod)

Great video. Always fun to see new people discovering this gem of a game. I have played hundreds and hundreds of hours, this game has so much to do and get and all of it free.
the KPI terminal is on your left when you spawn into your room. you get perk points to get passives and active perks that allow you to improve stuff about your character. you equip perks in your equipment panel(thats what the red and blue empty squares are on the lefthand side)
Also if you see some colourful Spots in the wall your gonna find compressed ore of one of the resources (golden and pink make the best sound when pinged(if you ping it enough even mission control tells you that you should stop)) So if you have trouble getting any material try to look at the falls. Also when you choose the place to land you can see what recources the places have Edit: I just saw that you found that
Couple of tips: 1. By holding tab you can open the map, which is very useful to find yourself in a complex cave or to see where the drop pod is during an extraction. 2. If you get hit while on the zipline you can get knocked out, so always stay alert about flying bugs when on the zipline. Also if you know you are going to fall, spam E so that you can grab the zipline again. 3. Make sure you complete the first assignment mission, which you already are doing, because it goes though most of the mission types and biomes. After completing the assignment, more of the game will open up to you. 4. Use perks, you can find the perks assignments and unlocks in any bedroom area, after buying the said perks you have to equip them in the equipment terminal. For passive perks (red) I would recommend: ressuplier, thorns, or veteran depositor for early game. For active perks (blue) I would recommend: iron will or field medic. 5. Always be upgrading your weapons and equipment. Primarily your armor since it gives you more health the more upgrades you have for it. Upgrades will require different minerals, so always be in the lookout for minerals you may need and complete missions on biomes where those minerals are abundant. Have fun greenbeards ROCK AND STONE!!!
you only get extra points for getting certain minerals that being Crafting Minerals, which are anything but Gold, Nitra, and objective resources (i.e. Morkite or Ebonuts) (I might be wrong about Nitra not counting) that said, Gold is converted into extra Credits at the end of a mission and yes, your instinct is right, 9 times out of 10, when you find a mineral via those specks in walls, it's usually just one resource, rarely you can find multiple an extra note, if you drink one of the beers while dancing, your character's legs will keep moving but the animation from the waist-up is the drinking animation so with the twirl dance, your legs keep spinning while your body doesn't you can also Salute with a (filled, un-drunk) beer, which has their own set of lines
The music does indeed ROCK! It's even on Spotify, if that's your thing. Also, a quick ammo tip: while holding Ctrl, look for the little grey bars below each player's nameplate (at lower left). Those are ammo indicators, and are great for knowing when your teammates need ammo without even having to ask!
The game can be played alone actually, as true solo without anyone or with your co-op npc Bosco (a helpful robot). There are players who do challenge runs as solo or enjoy it the most ... with that being said the game is best with 1-2 friends.
One Tip: Ping condensed gold, bittergems and mushroom. There is a specific mushroom you’re looking for is the purple smoke. There’s a lot of little interactions around that have MC voicelines when uh “provoking” him.
man you absolutely have to go on a mission drunk its fun as all hell, that and trying to unlock some new beers some of them let you do some crazy stuff in the rig.
One thing i can say for sure is that each class is fun in its own right and no class is objectively worse than the others in total. It will keep the game fun if you play each class equally. The only class with (relatively) lacking fire power is scout and he more than makes up for it with his movement capabilities (look no further than special powder). Engineer might be a bit boring to start but once you get better gear he's goated. Driller doesnt care about obstacles in his path and does crowd control absurdly well (those drills allow you to go anywhere im not kidding. Even the roof of a cave, it'll just take a minute). My least favorite class(personally) is gunner because he has the least movement but his guns are unbelievably satisfying to use on targets big and small.
Damn, start playing DRG today must feel nice, not knowing what stuff do, what weapons each class have, or even what the hell each Overclock makes (you gonna find what these are soon), I sure would put DRG in the class of games that are worth wiping the memory of just to play it again from zero
Tip: haz3 before you learn ropes. Haz4 only after. If you want to learn, that doesn't give you permission to ruin other people's game by inexperience. And haz3 is salvageable no matter what
If you can't carry greenbeards on regular hazard 5, let alone hazard4, you're just not good at the game. They can play any difficulty they want. Gatekeep your own lobby, not other players.
It’s cool that some people wanna play, I’m in the middle of moving rn so I’m scrambling just to do a vid a day. Once I’m settled in ima make a discord n everything 😤
something to note is that there is no shame in playing stuff like haz 1-2 if you are new, or you just want to chill either way if you go public, griefers are next to none. and even if you do manage to get a prick - theres an ez option to just...kick them. flatout. literally in the middle of the game. some toxic hosts use that, but im sure you aint a leaf lover no more - especially after that 200 comment section of people yelling at you for buying that. ROCK AND STONE BRUTHA 🎸
small tip you need to shoot armored enemies in the butt
ROCK AND STONE!
Damn, start playing DRG today must feel nice, not knowing what stuff do, what weapons each class have, or even what the hell each Overclock makes (you gonna find what these are soon), I sure would put DRG in the class of games that are worth wiping the memory of just to play it again from zero
Keep em coming
More deep rock pls
Holy shit rock your bone miner!
7:32 ror2 player spotted lmao, i accidentally wasted so many grenades while i was learning the game to doing that too
ROCK AND STONE BROTHA!
Rock and stone.
Rock and stone ⛏️
Just wait until you unlock overclocks
Oh yeah I love unlocking things 😈
Rock and stone!!!
Thats an Elfs piss dont drink it
Mmmmmmmmm yummy golden showers 😋
Dont you disrespect my barman Lloyd, i tip him everytime i drink
It’s not my fault lloyd doesn’t get paid a livable wage. I shouldn’t have to make up for his boss’ greed 😤
i want your brother's channel too, if he doesnt have one, make him do it
@@-Scrye fucking love it, he doesn’t have one but you better believe 😈🔥
if you really to enjoy the experience i reccomend solo
@@sugarypancakes3863 check out my first drg vid if ur more into the solo jazz 😬🎺
Hey need a greybeard to give you the stronger beer brother
My mom warned me ab people like you!
She told me to always accept gifts 😈
Tip: haz3 before you learn ropes. Haz4 only after. If you want to learn, that doesn't give you permission to ruin other people's game by inexperience. And haz3 is salvageable no matter what
Better to ask for forgiveness than parmesan 😈
If you can't carry greenbeards on regular hazard 5, let alone hazard4, you're just not good at the game. They can play any difficulty they want. Gatekeep your own lobby, not other players.
What are you a bloody leaf lover
Can I play with you brudda?😢 I go home from worktrip 5th july. Very much missed the game❤ I'm lvl 800+ greybeard tho😂
It’s cool that some people wanna play, I’m in the middle of moving rn so I’m scrambling just to do a vid a day. Once I’m settled in ima make a discord n everything 😤
awesome shit bro
Thanks dog 💪
something to note is that there is no shame in playing stuff like haz 1-2 if you are new, or you just want to chill either way
if you go public, griefers are next to none. and even if you do manage to get a prick - theres an ez option to just...kick them. flatout. literally in the middle of the game. some toxic hosts use that, but im sure you aint a leaf lover no more - especially after that 200 comment section of people yelling at you for buying that.
(now that i think about it...leaf lovers special is the first unlocked beer. oh fucking management i swear to god)
💀 they really set you up to be a leaf lover
You got a discord? I happen to be a greybeard from season 3
Thinking of making a discord for this community, it’ll probably happen after I’m done moving (fuuuuuuuck moving)
That scout using a zip line was so lame lol
Noob juice
😋
