I still remember the video, when you borrowed your neighboars Tablesaw and usen one for the first time...
And now this. Well done April. Well done...
Hi @michael pedersen u have the link?thanks
I was just thinking, watching this, mind blown, of the day April told us, she quit her job. Was that very long ago? I don't know. As someone else pointed out, she's the only person saying 2020 was a wonderful year(we all need more of that). Just so well done April. You are one of my favorite teachers.
I remember her having to go into her neighbors shop to borrow his bandsaw and planner!!! Very good job April, one of the videos that motivated me was the extra time you took to weld on every post again because you didn’t like the way it laid out when you cut them. Looked a lot better after the extra time and effort
So I have to ponder...how many years before that shop turns a profit? Even shops that have been around a long time don't spend that kind of money on equipment. Not being negative just trying to figure out how can I do that.
That is how you do it. Recognize your strengths and weaknesses and then find someone to strengthen your weaknesses. Great job, April. I wish you continued growth and success.
Well said!
From an ambitious young lady in her garage with a few Triton tools, to an accomplished businesswoman, artist, designer and inspiration to girls and women...plus a lot of us men as well. I wish you nothing but successful ventures in the future! Thanks for bringing us along;-)
As long as we’re doing ‘I remember’, the second video of yours I saw started with you celebrating you had quit you’re job. My goodness you’re an amazing person. Thanks for all you share.
As a woman who knows how to use most tools, grew up on a farm and even was a mentor for a robotics team, I literally cried when I saw that table saw!
I love to see everyone succeed but to see you realize a dream as a female in a not so female friendly profession is so nice. My daughter (grown woman now) knows how to do most of the same things I do and her dad was behind her all the way also. Congratulations, prayers and good luck!
I don't know anyone else who was so able to take advantage of crazy 2020 to build for the future! You are an inspiration!
We don’t have to be weak or sad about this pandemics situation The show must go on yeahhh
It helps when one lives in Texas, Florida or South Dakota when common sense is used instead of business killing lockdowns.
@@freighter1097 lucky no one dies of the flu, pneumonia, heat disease, obesity complications, cancer and old age anymore or think how high those numbers would be!
@@freighter1097 take a look at car accident deaths. We should lower the speed limit to 5 mph.
Goonzquad and WatchJRGo both did.
April; you are now in the top-tier 1% of makers, shop owners, production houses, and UA-camrs.......and yet, you still come across as that humble younger woman learning her craft in the garage and small shop, and so most of us part-time home hobbyist can still see "ourselves" in you! Congratulations on your success. I wish you well! DD
My internet crush. Smart, beautiful, works her ass off, and appreciates the small things in life. Such an amazing woman. So proud of you, April. You've come such a long way.
Love the progress you’ve made April, very inspiring.
Wow April this is incredible, i remember when you use to share shop/garage with your husband cody at the old house and look at you now big congratz
I love seeing a UA-camr take what’s essentially a paid hobby, into a fully fledged business, well done April :D
I can't wait to see everything in person!
Holy crap! That's an amazing setup! Congratulations! Pretty cool to see Grizzly jumping on board, as I've been a huge fan of theirs for years.
Your such a rock star April, seriously so proud of what you've done and how you have grown your business.
SOOOO excited for you April!!!!! You have come so far, very proud of you!!! I pray that God continues to bless you, your family, and all your endeavors.
I remember you making a mobile wood storage cart, and fold away work benches, for your workshop barn. You've come so far. I'm very happy for you.
"She stole my wave." How cute! Or, did maybe you inherit your wave from Momma?
I remember when French Cleats was your biggest project. Nice job young lady!
Congrats April. You were my very first inspiration in woodwork: from when you started out as a house wife trying to fix things around the house, up till when some tool companies began to sponsor your videos, now this!!!? You are truly amazing, and I am starting my own wood shop too. You are doing awesomely well. With love from Nigeria ❤❤❤
Way to go ! You have come so far from when I first started watching you. Congratulations, you deserve it.
So glad for you April, you've worked hard! Looking amazing!
This is amazing April! Great work. I've been following you for years and I'm continually impressed with your hard work and vision. I can't wait to see how this new space comes together.
I’ve learned so much from you! Congratulations, we can only imagine what you’ve done to make this happen. I look forward to seeing your business thrive even more. What an inspiration for us all.🥲
I smiled through this whole tour! Your vision is beautiful and inspiring. I can’t wait to see the finished space(s). Thank you for inviting us in and sharing your excitement!
deam! I rememberd the time when you converted the garage to an shop, the first project and now to this! just wow
I also just spent around $10,000 on several Grizzly equipment pieces. Glad to see I made a good choice. Bandsaw, table saw/shaper table, drum/disk sander and two lathes.
It feels like five minutes ago I was watching you in your old old workshop, planning were to put the stickers on your door or building a small material cart. In a weird way I feel proud of how far you’ve come seeing it from the start. So glad you’ve been able to use this year to help your business xx
Oh April! I am so proud of you! I think you & I started our woodworking journey at the same time back in 2014. I do not have a business built out of it but I sure have done fun remodels on my house, built some great furniture & cabinets for my family and helped a lot of charities, all watching your UA-cam videos. I am a 65 year old Grandma but so glad I learned so much about woodworking. Never too old to learn! I wish you the very best!
I cannot wait to get to come see it in person. I wish I could come work there. The energy is so enthusiastic and creative!!
Such an AMAZING journey! From doing DIY in the garage to ALL THIS! Such an inspiration and thank you for being awesome and giving my 4 daughters a strong , smart female role model 👍🏻
The Wood Shed is about 20 minutes from where I live. I stopped in one day not long ago and met your mom. She’s a real sweetie. You’ve come sooo far from those first videos I saw in your little work shed at home. Well done April! Keep the empire building! 👍🏽👍🏽💪🏽
How have I been watching you for 6 years already?! It's been great to watch your journey over the years. Hard work and a little luck always pays off. You seem really genuine and it come across in your videos. GL!
"momma momma, wave hi" ..... love it.
WOOOW!
Awesome Achievement, long way from when you and the hubby was sharing a two car garage.
Congrats wish you the best to the new chapter.
Omgosh you are amazing! I found you on a small building FB page here in MO. I am 65 & have always loved to build. In fact in the rural school in Missouri I was one of the first girls they allowed in wood shop class. Thank you for your time & I wish you the greatest success! You will do amazing things! Ohhh & I love love your new shop!
I buy all my wood from a company in Canada Ontario called the wood shed. Good job April. The sky the limit for you. Hard work pays 👍
Great Shop. Just ordered the disc sander. Thanks for the 10% discount code. Merry Christmas !!! :)
Wonderful! Happy Holidays!
there are dreamers, wishers, thinkers, then there are doers. the ones that make it all come true. you are an inspiration to the future doers. congrats on everything so far and good luck moving foreward.
Still blows my mind how far you have come from that first flip down workbench video...... simply amazing !!! Well done 👏🏻
You go April. Your vision is amazing, or energy is top notch. Good luck
You, are an amazing lady. I wish had just some of your energy. I wish you all the best with your new venture.
This feels very different from most shop tours where people are kinda flexing their big tools that they have that they don't really need, this feels more like showing all that you've accomplished in your process of achieving your dream of actually putting these tools to good use with a great business plan and not just making silly random stuff. I've seen your entire journey and I'm inspired by your motivation, keep it up April!!
Thank you!
jetzt sieht man es ganz genau, es ist kein Hobby mehr, sondern eine professionelle Firma. Alles Gute dafür ! Du schaffst das, denn Du machst das mit großer Freude und Begeisterung.
An amazing success story... Still a humble young woman, who loves what she does and has become a role model for what an individual can accomplish with vision, energy and tenacity. She went to the next level when she became internationally known. She has literally become the female Norm Abram....
Laid back April; "It's just a mess..."
Professional April; "...well, not a mess, there's just a lot of room for growth."
Very exciting! Congratulations April.
Absolutely incredible to see what you've achieved! I've been watching since your earliest videos and the growth curve is just mind boggling. So inspired by your vision and your drive April! You are a wonder woman!
I love how she fan girls over all that awsome equipment
ig thats like how every craftsman is lol
April is a badass! 😎
congrats on all your success April! it's great to see such a hard-working, driven, talented and gracious person setting and achieving their goals! much love from Kansas City, KS
There are so many people, especially me, that are so proud of you and what you have accomplished. I am 72 years old and still as passionate about building as when I was 13. So it’s awesome to see the passion manifest in you.
Keep up the good modeling!
Lotsa Oregon Coast Love, Wayne
I love that u call the group of people u work with a team not just employees
Definitely how it should be, but not how many people do it!!
Going back to my little single car garage and contractor’s saw now.
Her early videos she had to borrow the use of the neighbor's table saw. So it sounds like you're on to the next level up. Keep it up!
It's simply amazing how far you've come from your little workshop to now~!!! Congratulations, April~!!!
Its amazing to me to know i was watching you build your first work bench several years back and to see how far youve taken your passion for woodworking and all the other things you have done, remember making french cleats? That video inspired me to redo my old mancave😊you should be very proud April, stay safe, John
That table saw is crazy! It's probably the size of my workshop 😂
Who gives this a thumbs down she has worked her butt off for a beautiful expensive expansion why hate be happy congrats we will definitely stop in if ever in Texas
Exactly. Should be motivational but humans being humans, envy is the dominate emotion in many when seeing this.
Amazing. Congratulations April!
Congratulations!!!!. You're excitement and hard work is inspiring
The first video I watched of April was 4 years ago when building the wood fence and to just see how far she’s come from that time is amazing. Congrats. ❤️👏🏽👏🏽
Well done April and all the best wishes for The Wood Shed project. You came a long way since fitting out your previous 'new' workshop and building the Rolling Lumber Rack. A rack that I copied and serves me well ever since. Was this just five years ago?
April that’s awesome. So happy for you. Best of luck with your new adventure. You’re an inspiration!!!
It’s amazing that woodworking paid for all that. Absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing your journey and providing so much inspiration!
Lots of positive energy, best wishes, Hi from Mersin
April, I would love to see a video where you watch clips from your first couple of videos and talk about "April then" as opposed to "April now" and talk about your personal UA-cam journey
Would be nice!
@Scott P... would be nice.....and tell us all the people that helped “her” build the shop, bandsaw mill, tool arsenal....etc”
“Willing to work hard” is only PART of the formula for success. Others that “help you” (Whether volunteering their time, Money or knowledge) should be noted if we’re being honest....having said that success is a beautiful thing if it’s passed on to others willing to work for it....food for thought!
@@justmakingit4668 This was one of the first woodworking channels I subscribed to 7 years ago because I wanted to build a table that would fold up into the wall and the video that gave me the confidence to build it (and I still use it!) was April who was also new to all this . I've just been amazed at what she has accomplished in those 7 years, and sometimes it's really interesting watching someone see their very first videos again and see how they react to it
@@justmakingit4668 True. One needs lots of strong hands and knowledgeable help!!!
First of all it is nice to hear someone making plans for live music and mingling.
Great post pandemic plans.
I love seeing your Mama in the background, she sure loves her girl all right.
Shop looks great, Congratulation's.
Take Care and God Bless
Congratulations on your progress, and best wishes! Please be safe and stay well!
It’s a dream! Amazing! Incredible progress! April, how many hours do you have in 24 hours?🙂
That jointer would therefore be named for the USS Nimitz CVN-68, The second nuclear powered US aircraft carrier.
It's absolutely beautiful I love it I remember years ago when you 1st started out making things in your little shop.
You’ve come a long way !! So happy for you !! Thanks for sharing with and inspiring so many people. Continued blessings to your success. Fred 👍👍👍👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
As a European I'm happy to see someone overseas using a sliding tablesaw, they are so much more convenient!
Grizzly would be wise to name that piece of equipment, "The Nimitz".
Paint it haze gray, and stick a '68' on the side.... (I used to drive '59').
Place I used to work (was there 40 yrs before retiring) put in an enormous copy machine (biggest I’ve seen ever) right outside my office. I put a sign on the wall behind it that said “USS Kitty Hawk”. The boss was not amused.
Congratulations April!!! Merry Christmas!!!!
I have few words as I am still remembering the video where you were so excited to be leaving your full time job to venture out on your own. It must feel so good to have come so far. I'm floored by your success and your ever-lasting positive attitude. I wish you nothing but continued success.
Being a Texas gal, one of these days we need to collaborate. We could start with one of my Plantation swings. Then, we could build one of my game tables.
Looks like youtube paid up
Her channel is in decline and she knows this which is why she's moving toward production. UA-cam channels have a life span, and her channel is already past its prime. Veritasium covers this topic as well.
@@fotopfanatic it may be the case, but I don't really care.
I'm happy for her.
She also works her ass off. Go figure. 🤔
congrats on your new shop! you've worked hard for all of this, enjoy and looking forward to the next video
I think it's really smart how you have a plan for a specific workflow with processing logs into slabs and further products, as well as a flexible system where you can do other products and services.
This makes most man cave feels like a kindergarten.
Yes. You have come so far. Well done. I still remember vividly the video of you quitting you job and becoming a full time self employed person. You should be very proud as to what you accomplished. You are an inspiration for anyone.
April I remember the videos that you made waaaayyyyy back. It's so awesome to see your dreams work out and come to life, a true inspiration to new and in process woodworkers. Don't forget to keep up with those small projects like sound proof dust collection lean-to's and chicken coops!
Congratulations April. I heard someone say today, about a colleague that we lost, that he "lived life on his own terms - something that many people talk about and dream about, but very few do." I think you also are living life on your own terms. Don't stop... keep going. And make sure to tell those people around you that you appreciate them. Congratulations again.
Loved the Shop Tour and am very proud of all your hard work! Can't wait to see what's next on your Journey. Thanks for taking us along. Well done!
April, beautiful shop, you are always upbeat but I don't think I have ever heard you this excited. congratulations on you shop......
Looks amazing. CONGRATULATIONS!
This is a beautiful shop. I could see my Papa James loving this. I could also see him never admitting it either, but he’d still love it.
God has blessed you so much Ms. April. I have enjoyed your growth over the years. Going from your little garage shop to this... God is so good!
Looks great! Congratulations and wish you success.
The "Nimitz" ... Yes! Go Navy!!
...
If there is anyone who is living the "American Dream", it is you!
Wishing you continued success in the future!
Love iFixit! Found them about a year ago, and their tools and video helped me fix my computer...Something I didn't think I was ever going to get fixed. Great company!
This is what I expect from you. Well planned out, done quickly to move things along, relentless! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Nothing but excitement for you and your endeavors. And YESSSSSSSS on the sliding table saw. I love those. They are amazing. ☺️
So happy to see the shop tour! Impressed and happy for you!
Stunning shop and a dream come true for so many people. Congrats on your success.
Wow!!!! and Wow!!!! Love the video. You have a magnificent place there. Congratulations. Hats off to your Mum too. She puts in a lot of work.
Been following and watching your videos for years now, very cool to watch how your skills and abilities have grown into what they were back in the day making fold down wall mounted work benches, to what you have built for yourself today! Keep going, it’s motivating to watch the drive continue!!!!
Wow, April! It's so impressive and inspiring seeing you go from your small garage workshop to building your large workshop to now opening up a Commercial Shop! We'll have to make this a stop on a Texas vacation sometime in the future!
Congratulations and a great 2021!
I know we don't know each other other than my comments but i am so proud of you. You dont half ass anything. You're truly an inspiration to all of us makers. The shop looks great id love to check it out sometime! Keep being awesome april
