- @WaybackRewind @15:23 Sample Footage. My 9-Year-old camera is still sold brand new from Panasonic. I give you an overview of its features, explain why it's still sold 9 years later, and then give you some sample footage of its video capabilities.

This is a great travel and nature camera. In it's price range there's absolutely nothing like it. Small, lightweight, excellent zoom and waterproof. It's only limitation is the sensor size, which obviously struggles in low light, but lately machine learning based noise reduction software has become extremely good which allows this camera to keep offering wonderful shots, even better than when it was released. I use DxO PureRaw and it really does wonders with high noise images from the FZ300.
Very good comments, and thanks for sharing. I appreciate you watching my channel. Thanks.
I have this camera and absolutely love it. The lens is fantastic.
Yes I appreciate it now more than ever. I would pick this to shoot video over any other hybrid camera I have.
Thanks for watching.
I am using it for video primarily for my online courses, meetings and some you tube (soon to come). It does an excellent job (way more than what I need). BTW, I am using a battery pack to bypass that 30 mins cap. In the documentation, they say that the camera will go continuously for 4 hrs, with he pack, then it will stop for 2 mins. After that, you can start again. Needless to say that I never need it to record past the 1.5 hrs mark, tops. BTW, super review, thanks for that!
I guess I missed that in the manual that it will go past 30 minutes on the battery pack. I have never had the need to record for that long and I just recently purchased the battery adapter. That is good to know.
Thank you so much for letting me know and thanks for watching.
@brianbr5388 I assume that's what he means. I demonstrate the battery simulator in part 2 of this video. But I haven't tested to see if it ignores the 30 minute time limit in that mode.
Very slept on device. I bought one new in 2016 I believe for like 250 dollars and they still sell for more than that now!
Agreed. Every year, I look to see if there is a newer and better camera in this class, and there isn't one. And probably cost more as you said. Thanks for watching.
Nice footage! I got this as a camcorder alternative. As you were saying it is much cheaper than a 4k camcorder. I find myself using it more as a photo camera so far, but I am hoping to use it for nature and wildlife videos.
I could use some tips on wildlife and nature photography. People ask me for examples and I have none, lol. This is still my “best” camera I haven’t found anything else I like in this price range.
Thanks for watching.
This camera has become somewhat of a legend.
I had no idea it would become legendary when I bought it 9 years ago. But there is still nothing better in that price range in my humble opinion.
Thanks for watching.
Got mine at about the same time Thought the fz 1000 was a step up with the larger sensor but not much in it. The fz 300 is still tops may be due for an update soon
😊
Nice footage, is it in standard profile?
Thanks. I don't shoot raw or use profiles so I get whatever I get. I guess I am not professional enough to need to do that.
Thanks for watching.
Do you have a source for the "battery pack" to extend beyond 30 minutes as noted in some of the comments?
Enough people have asked about this that I will make a video about it.
There is nothing off the shelf that will work, but if you start with the AC Adapter and replace the plug in power adapter with a 8.4 volt battery it should work. Not sure how tolerant the camera is but 9v is probably as close as you will get with a battery. I'll let you know when I post the how to video.
Thanks for watching.
My usb cable must’ve got mixed in with the others, I can’t find it. Maybe Panasonic parts sells a replacement?
Yes they do sell a replacement. It is not an ordinary USB but specifically for Panasonic.

@@WaybackRewind I ordered it, thank you very much!
@joeprete7424 you're welcome 😊
Ten aparat robi wrażenie. Jak jest z czasem pracy na baterii? Jaki jest maksymalny czas długości jednego filmu hd? Jak długo trzyma bateria podczas zdjeć? Nagrywam filmy uczniow na konkursy inline - gra na flecie. Film to z reguły 20 minut.
How does it compare to Sony hx400v?
The Sony HX400v is a similar camera with a long 50x optical zoom, (versus 24x on the FZ300), but the biggest difference is that the FZ300 has 4K video and the Sony only supports 1080P. For me that's a deal breaker as I primarily shoot video. But if you are primary a stills shooter the Sony has a higher pixel count 20.4 Mp versus 12.1 Mp. The FZ is f2.8 across the entire range and the Sony is not. It all depends how you use it, but I prefer the Panasonic.
Thanks for watching.

😊
I like it but I but it only records 30min
The 30 minute limitation is a disappointment, but for most times I never record that long without stopping.
Thanks for watching.
@@WaybackRewind i debating on getting the camera because of the video quality, I just wish they’d give a better discount on the camera 🎥 it’s been around since 2015. I know it still shows beautiful video.
@@escaperoute1312 I have been trying to replace this camera since 2015 but there is nothing else in it's price range that is better.
If you really need longer recording time then a camcorder is the best choice.
@@WaybackRewind thanks
FZ330 ANYONE ??
As far as I can tell the FZ330 is the PAL version of the FZ300 and is otherwise identical.
Thanks for watching.
@@WaybackRewind Will the PAL on the coming FZ330 increase picture and lens quality a lot more? And prize tag also?
Thr FZ330 has been around since 2015 as well. Maybe it's new to your market? The price is roughly the same as well. In video more Pal frame rate is different but quality is roughly the same.
@@WaybackRewind Yes, I see now, I mix up my Fujifilm S-5000 which I purchased in 2004, a wonderful 38-380mm with a crisp lens that I did not experienced since my 1976 Minolta XD, the first computer driven, with a Roccor lens that even took out my 1968 Nikon F ... Do you made a video on the FZ1000?
No I have not reviewed the FZ1000. It's actually a year older than the FZ300/FZ330. I proba ly won't buy one as it's not different enough.
Micro USB isn't proprietary. That looks normal. Old, but normal. I have plenty.
That's not a micro USB, it is a Panasonic proprietary connector.
On the plus side they are cheap and easily replaceable. Thanks for watching.

@@WaybackRewind my Olympus Tough has the same cable, have had to replace it a couple of times.....sure is a PIA when you cant remember where it is and you have 1000 USB cables laying around.
@@cdnmrrrrr Exactly. Don't know why it took 100 years to agree on a single cable?
