Yes it should be stored in the fridge. I recommend making it 24 hours or less before you need it. It can hold up 2-3 days, I have some videos of what it looks like on my Make It Megan Instagram highlight under “fresh leis”

Hi. I'm making an artificial gardenia flower lei with royal blue ribbon for my mother's memorial. I wasn't paying attention when i made 1 for graduation & i used regular thread to sew on the flowers & baby's breath. I doubled thin thread. But I see I did it wrong. Is sewing flowers on better with regular curling ribbon? Do you sew through the bottom foam gardenia petal or through 2? Would white ribbon or silver be best for white gardenia? Sorry: need to order everything from Amazon & want to get the thread or ribbon you think looks the best. Also, would the poly household twine not be good to sew the gardenia & babys breath on? Mahalo.
If you used normal thread and it worked then I think it should be fine! I use curling ribbon because it is what I use in my fresh leis so I just continued the same methods for the artificial leis. I think the lei twine would be too thick and take more work to sew through the layers. I sew the gardenia on in 2 or 3 places, usually the top and bottom and I try to go through the woven lei twine on the top because it is more secure. Sometimes when I go through the ti leaf ribbon only, the curling ribbon will rip through it.
