You can use your creativity to create a custom look with flowers that are accessible to you. Do you have a tutorial on how to paint carnations to the school colors? I love in California so I would go to the flower district to get the paint but to me when I use it the lei feels heavy…. Please advise

I try not to make my leis more than 24 hrs in advance. Carnations will last up to 2-3 days in the fridge. I like to keep them in the produce drawer
Hi this is amazing. How many roses would I need for an all rose lei. How far in advance would you recommend making this? And then how would I store the rose lei?
We did a few different methods using roses in this video! If you are rolling the individual rose petals, you need 12 full size roses. For the flat rose petal style, you would need 20-24 roses.
To make an all rose lei with the kui poepoe method (like the yellow roses used w/ white carnations) you would probably need 75-100 spray roses depending on the size. If you are using the mini roses and stringing them in a straight pattern (kui pololei) you would need 40-50 sprays roses.
I recommend making it less than 24 hours before the event. I store all my leis in my produce drawer in the fridge and set my fridge on the warmest setting available!
about how many white carnations and yellow roses did you end up using for a 40in lei?
For this particular lei, I used about 30 white carnations and 15-20 yellow spray roses. If I were using carnations only, I would use 45-50 carnations 🌺
