Tight coils (each strand around the size of or smaller than the spring of a retractor pen) trap cool air in them to keep the head cool to reduce overheating & prevent heatstroke. More appreciated during ancient times (mostly during the Heat Age) for its benefits as this property also reduced water based scalp induced bacterial infections. It’s basically a self grown sun hat that literally reacts and responds to the elements ❤️

i trim on occassion, probably once or twice a year lol, but it depends on your hair. Some people need it more often ,some people less. I should prob trim like 3 times a year tho. I do it myself and just cut the ends lol not professional at all
