    I like the subtle off white color of Joel's card. It has a tasteful thickness to it.

    That's a lot of money spent on something people are just going to toss in the can. It does show who he is though, an obnoxious card for an obnoxious person.

    The whole purpose of a business card is to:
    a) be subtle enough to not look like you're bragging, while
    b) Giving an accurate, simple description of your profession or position, and should
    c) cost NO money, and MUST
    d) NOT look like this guy's! I mean, WTF is that thing?! It's too big to fit inside ANYTHING, and if people can't find a place to put things, they put them in the trash.

    Funny how people are stuck on the 25 years which is actually experience to know how to market and get attention. But, they miss the part where they don't have to like you to want to learn from you. The man is a master at it... and he played his role perfectly. That's not his personality... but he's 100% right and video is comedy. I just showed this video to a staff member who is helping me design a business card for a client. Why? Cuz people still use business cards, and you want them to stand out. If they don't... in the wallet they go... or left somewhere... no impression made... and never to be seen again. If you don't market... you probably don't get it. I did have a good laugh reading the comments tho. Most of you got totally hooked and proved his point!

    @clonemagic that is incorrect. The Golden ratio is 1.618.
    2" x 1.618 is 3.236. Business cards, as you said, are 2" x 3.5." In order for a businesscard to be the golden ratio the dimensions should have to be 2" x 3.236" or 2.163 x 3.5."

    If someone takes that long and spending that much money designing a freakin' business card that's that needlessly complex and impractical, why would I hire him/collaborate with him on, well, anything? Not to mention his obvious lack of interpersonal skills, overcompensation issues, and inability to adhere to common guidelines.

  • @hanseich
    @hanseich 15 років тому

    You guys commenting here all don't get it when he says this card took him 25 years in the making!
    He obviously did not take 25 years to make it, it's more like he took 25 years of experience of what works and what doesn't and packed it into this one card!
    I would much rather spend $4 on a card (and only give out 100) and have 25% show an actual return then $0.05 and have one lousy gig every 1000 cards!

  • @Danielnewbold

  • @realityhyp
    @realityhyp 15 років тому

    Bad news sport. That's not a business card. That's a pamphlet. A business card is used to make sure that someone has your name and your contact info. A business card is designed to fit in where someone could keep it handy. What YOU are showing there is something that someone can't file in their contacts book, so it will sit on the desk or in a drawer, and eventually get thrown out because people don't know where to put it. Don't let your card be a nuisance, or in this case, a Freudian nightmare.

    Hahaha this guy's great - he HAS to be a comedian he can't be real surely? He's developed the tackiest business card the world has ever seen - he's right I'd never throw it away because it's hysterical to look at. I'd never use his business because a) he's clearly a prick and b) he spent 25 years over-designing a card that won't fit in a wallet. The pop-up bit's ingenius! It's him with his own congregation! Dear Mr Rich, You obviously want to stand out from the crowd. You do. However don't forget that not everyone needs that. A business card is a tool for giving your contact details to someone. In my line of work I would be LAUGHED at with such an ostentatious, over-the-top, pretentious piece of marketing W**K. I find that most people spend only a couple of hours designing their business cards - the rest of the time they build relationships. Regards.
