Malaysian English teachers can probably teach some grammar and such but their conversational English is absolutely hilarious at best. i am fortunate enough to be able to speak English without that funny accent thanks to my grandad. there was this racist propaganda narrative that labelled English as the 'invaders' language so it was kind of discouraged everywhere i went in Malaya. i used to rent in Subang and i had an English teacher that lived next door that required tutoring from me several times a week. little does he know that i am just a pothead and it was hell pulling my shit together teaching him English. annd aku bukan orang putih for fuck sakes tetapi orang Sarawak yang tengah menganggur. xD good times.
