jm2officialTV It’s because he’s so exposed to English. it’s pretty easy since it’s everywhere. In my school they started teaching us english in 5th grade till high-school. I have been watching English shows, English music, books, games since I was a kid. I’m just impressed by his accent he sounds like a native

Super Star I’m kinda late but when you start speaking any language, it’s better to practice having a good accent early. It’s harder to fix bad pronunciation habits than to learn new words. He also listened to the language for a while before he started speaking so he got used to how it sounded.

Jakartan accent is pretty neutral. I speak English with American accent because I watch a lot of American tv series and movies. I speak Arabic like an Aljazeera anchor due to my exposure to this channel. Oh and I speak only Fusha (Classical Arabic) not Amiyah (regional dialect/common language) because of my education in Islamic boarding school.

Indonesians don’t usually have strong accents

That is overgeneralization. It only applies to Jakartans. Javanese have a thick accent. Other ethnics as well.
