Dutch Eve is there a lot of Indonesian immigrants in the Netherlands or something because I’ve seen a ton of people from there saying they live Indonesian food.
A part of Indonesia used to be from The Netherlands. So yeah, lots of Indonesians here. It's also the reason there are many people there with Dutch names.
I did a google search and it turns out these restaurants started as Chinese, but when they saw how popular Indonesian food was here they hired Indonesian chefs and added indonesian dishes to their menus.
Rachel Copacetic you should see mark wien and travel ranger, they vloger food and reivew indonesian food to, see on they youtube chanel you will be see indonesian food

Hands down fantastic food! And also, not completely unaffordable!)
Most authentic Indonesian restaurants in NY are in Queens - rich and not afraid with the spices. Ones in Brooklyn and Manhattan are too plain watered down flavors. Indonesia = spices
Having eaten here recently, and having worked a lot in Indonesia, I can say firsthand that Bali Kitchen ROCKS! Everything that Chef Jazz and his team puts out is the real deal. Enak sekali!
I love how Chigga's way of eating is so Indonesian. He put a bit of sambal on the corner of the plate and took a small portion of it with every bite. Western people would've put the sambal on the rice. Thats not Indonesian way. lol. Love how Chigga pronounce every dish name correctly with Indonesian accent.
So funny, I'm Dutch and in Dutch households we eat this stuff pretty much weekly as well. Nasi Goreng, Sambal and maybe even Rendang but also Bahmi ofcourse. Sate is pretty much a standard adddition to any BBQ. I just had it as one of the dishes during christmas.
Ibn Taymiyyah Lol does it matter? Holland has their own version of indonesian food. Are u gonna ask people who eat pizza on the regular if they are italian?
Mitjell. Indonesia was once colonized by the Dutch for almost 350yrs until the 2nd world War. And by that some Dutch also married with the locals. They also shared the cultures. Tielman brothers the genius band before the Beatles are indonesian. And as we speaking about your dishes.. There's a chance that maybe you have indonesian blood in your family.
Can confirm. I'm Dutch as well. No Indonesian ancestors, but we love the Indonesian kitchen so much it has become part of our food. Like the Americans have integrated (Italian) pizza in their culture.
I'm also surprised at how Dutch people love Indonesian foods lol. When I looked at some menus I thought, "Dude, It's in the Netherlands, right? Not in my hometown in Indonesia?" 😂
Inilah manfaat bisa go international. Bisa menunjukan kekayaan negara sendiri (budaya, alam, kuliner, dll) yg pada akhirnya bisa mendatangkan manfaat untuk negara kita. Thank you Brian.
omg Nassi Goreng, it's a really famous dish in the Netherlands too. And it really makes me miss my moms Nasi Goreng. I know it's not the Nassi Goreng like real Indonesian style (less spicy), but it's simplified Nassi Goreng Dutch style. But I love it. And the noodles, you should deff buy them, they're my favorite insta noodles for sure.
If you have the chance, try Nasi Goreng at various places in Indonesia. Almost every establishment have their own recipe, so it'll be something interesting to learn that a simple dish could have so many twists and variations.
@@zapperil Well, I posted this three years ago, so this going to be a long story. We actually used to make it differently. I think it was last year when I gifted my mom an Indonesian cooking master class. Ever since that day, we changed the recipe for our nasi-goreng. We now use the sweet soy sauce from ABC. It's a brand we fell in love with, and it's super easy. But we used before, different spices to make the boemboe (we call it, it's like a paste). Before our main ingredients was just the boemboe, and Kecap manis (ketjap manis) as a cause after it's done. But now we mix the rice and everything together with the ABC soy sauce. But we also eat it with peanut sauce, I like to make it extra spicy. But it's good too, probably not original either. But it's the beauty of food, it can be changed and adapted to flavour and taste. Do hope to visit Malaysia/Indonesia in the future, to eat all the delish food and taste it the authentic way. But it's funny, how my moms and my version of nasi-goreng still taste differently while we follow the same recipes. I guess that's that bit of love.
Most Asian countries use English as second or even first language like Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Most Asian speaking at least 2 languages. So no surprise. And as we all have our own mother tongue like malay, tamil, mandarin, thai etc the best way to communicate among your friends (diff races) by basically use English.
I've lived in Indonesia for 11 months as an exchange student, when I came back I ordered 2 boxes indomie goreng instantly.. enak banget, aku makan indomie setiap hari (tapi aku gak mau gendut 😣)
You can find Indomie instant noodles in some grocery stores in the USA. Possibly this is just in my area, but I find them in the Asian specialty section. You have to go to higher-end grocery stores though; I doubt you will find it in something like Wal-Mart. The Mi goreng fried kind is my favorite.
I peaked in my life when I dated an Indonesian girl. It's all downhill from there but at least I won't have a midlife crisis wondering if I haven't experienced the best life could give me.

omg Nassi Goreng, it's a really famous dish in the Netherlands too.
So , does Dutch-style Nasi Goreng uses soy sauce too ?
I guess that's that bit of love.
come to The Netherlands (particularly Rotterdam instead of your basic Amsterdam) and we'll eat some very good Indonesian/Surinam food!
How is his english better then mine and I was born in America, damn

NA education
Most Asian countries use English as second or even first language like Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Most Asian speaking at least 2 languages. So no surprise. And as we all have our own mother tongue like malay, tamil, mandarin, thai etc the best way to communicate among your friends (diff races) by basically use English.

I think most of the people outside the American continent speak English this well as a second language

You can find Indomie instant noodles in some grocery stores in the USA. Possibly this is just in my area, but I find them in the Asian specialty section. You have to go to higher-end grocery stores though; I doubt you will find it in something like Wal-Mart. The Mi goreng fried kind is my favorite.
most Chinese/East Asian groceries here have Indomie too, and also instant noodles from just about any part of Asia
its the fucking best G
Funny, one of the best places in Canada to get Indomie is Walmart. Link: www.walmart.ca/en/ip/indomie-mi-goreng-instant-fried-noodles/6000188764190

Surprised he hasn't considered an Australian tour yet. So close to Indonesia and there are a lot of migrants here so Indonesian food is everywhere.
I wander how could he learn these words to describe the food from UA-cam... incredible and amazing.
