I love Ikea, I grew up with Ikea, being Norwegian, and living just outside of Oslo, we had the first Ikea store outside of Sweden, opened in 1963, my local store. I remember my mom taking us kids to Ikea after school for meatballs dinners. She loved it there. My kids has played in the "Smaaland" (Littleland) and eat meatballs too. You will find Ikea furniture in every Scandinavian home! 😂😂😂
I LOVE it now too! I think I might head back soon to see what they have for spring. Definitely going to try the meatball next time! Thanks for coming by!
Greetings from a veteran Ikea shopper. One of my great delights this past spring was the opening of an Ikea here in the center of Paris. We used to have to drive out to the suburbs and make a day of it. Now we can spend far too much on irresistibles we don’t really need right in our own neighborhood :)

I really enjoy hearing about a person's first Ikea experience. I love Ikea and only live 20 minutes from one and go ALL the time so it takes me back to when I first discovered. At first I didn't like all of the modem designs (I'm pretty traditional) but it has really grown on me and I always enjoy the experience. Nothing like it. I love all of the organization. I particularly love how family friendly the store is now that my family has grown. Easy to take the kids along shopping. They have some beautiful Christmas florals right now.

The podcast was so fun to listen too even though I don't live near an Ikea I still enjoyed it when it was published. What a great idea making a video to go along with it! I always think it would be nice to have a blog post to go with the podcast too as a reference although you two are so good at describing things that I can always picture everything. 💕

Loved this Kelly, they just built one where we live not to long ago. Every time we pass by on the over pass, it's packed full. I, like you, hadn't been there even tho' watching many channels and their finds I was thinking hmmm... we need to check it out. So glad to see we aren't the only ones... love the small round table you spotted and at half price, so good. I found one at a consignment shop. I don't think it was from ikea, but love it. Nice change from a rectangular. You looked so comfy and casual, love your surroundings. Thank you so much for sharing, great fun🍃💛🍃

I have never been to an IKEA nor do I own anything from there. But I see all these amazing products from there on everyone UA-cam Channels! I would probably be like you in there.... a couple of carts full .... ! When you lifted the glass cloche up my heart stopped! (. I may need therapy to stop thinking I need so many !!! Then the gold bottom one....stop ! ).
Everyone talks about the pillow covers ! I have visited the website but had trouble with checking out! Probably God telling me ...” really Jayne do you need those?” I’ll have to try again!
One more thing... oh my ... I love that Silver Tray you showed us with the pretty vignette with the cups under the cloche! Then the sweet velvet pumpkin on it! Yes... some envy hit ! LOL!!!!

Hi Jayne - I've ventured - now you must! What's another pillow cover or two? ;) . My tray thrifted find. These silver trays are plentiful & cheap in thrift store. After you hit IKEA pull into your local thrifty. Bet you find one! Thx as always for coming by ...
I have also only recently discovered all that Ikea has to offer thanks to Jami & Zeb on Jami Ray Vintage. I used to think the same way you did and also thought for some reason that it was more expensive. My only complaint is that I don’t have one closer than about 3 hours from me. Love your finds - that table is awesome! 🙂
And I really thought I was the last person on earth that hadn't been! Yes, the table is worth it even if I had to pay full price...but I didn't ;) . Thx for coming by!

And the man, who started IKEA (Ingvar Kamprad) from Sweden, had gotten a brilliant Idea...."producing furniture that everyone can afford and that are easy to bring home"....
Who would have known this business idea from "little" Sweden, would be spread all over the world, many years later.

Yes Kristina! He was/is an interesting man. For the podcast episode I did research on him. Quite an entrepreneur he started selling matches at age 5! Years later Ikea - good design for everyone!

I don't care for the horizontal stripes on top of the prison stripes. - too many stripes. Like your cloche vignette, though-very pretty! I find that IKEA things look better in the store and when you get them home, they look less sturdy. However, their large art is usually a good bargain and holds up well and thank goodness, doesn't need assembly.
One person's "prison stripes" is another's awning stripes! ;)
