Hi Lisa Holt, absolutely adore your channel 🌟 🙏🌟. Thought I shed some light on something important 😬, IKEA is pronounced (in English for you) “Eekea” NOT “Aikea”. The acronyms that make up the name stand for : Ingvar Kamprad (the Swedish founder’s name), Elmtaryd (the farm where he grew up) and Agunnaryd (his hometown). IKEA was founded in 1947 and Ingvar wanted the name to reflect parts of himself and his childhood. Here you have it...You’re welcome huney 😉.... I’m European and also a Interior Decorator and it slightly bugs me when people are unaware of some important aspects (especially peeps from the design or furniture industry). I understand, however, the world is made of more languages than just English 😆, let’s help each other. Bitte schön, gern geschehen, that’s German for you are very welcome, it was my pleasure. I've been telling my friends that when stores open up again I'm going to Ikea and I'm going to sit in EVERY display room because I'm sick to death of looking at my home for 3 months!

I took my daughters room measurements to my local Ikea and they planned out an entire wall with the Pax system- All in white deep cabinets and 96" tall Absolutely the Best money we have ever spent. Her room looks like it belongs in a magazine and she has all the storage she will ever need.

Every time I go to Ikea, I always think IKEA has no competitor at all. No other store offers such an one-stop shopping solution with beautiful and elegant items.
I'm always surprised by this comments. I've purchased office furniture, tables, some chairs the thing they had in common was by 6 months they fell down. They really fell apart

Yes the KALAX has many different finishes for the record shelves I ordered the smaller four squares, I actually ordered five of these in natural wood tone and will use mine for an extensive record collection and they were the smaller version so I can easily move amd keep them in various rooms because I have several stereo systems throughout my home....

IKEA style is spot on. . .the lines the colors, as you pointed out (eye candy) BUT the quailty is toss out college temp housing scenario. . . found on side of dumpster brokend drawers, legs, posted under free section on CL, chipped corner you get the idea. I love the style and still visit to be social with family and friends and keep my mouth shut. . . . seemt to be a very popular pass time. .
The Hemnes slim shoe cabinets are pretty and versatile storage especially for small spaces.

Agree, I’m using one as an underwear drawer in an impossible space behind a door, and two more for hallway storage (birdfeed, potting equipment) and kitchen supplies (bags, candles, foil, baking cups etc). I just changed the knobs to suit their rooms and put an oak plank on top
LOVE my Billy cases. Nice mention! I bought 4 Lack floaters in 2006, and couldn't ever figure them out. This was before finding everything on YT. 😆
The Pac system is so nice. I love how they look like just the wall. Oh and I love how the Kallax has the two half drawers. We actually have a large unit my mom handed down to me which she bought 20 yrs ago, is just like it. And it has three different squares where there's 2 small drawers, we use those and the two door cubbies the most. But I've never bought any cube fabric drawers.
Ok, funny, the first time I shopped at Ikea, I grabbed all of the pillows my daughter wanted in the bedroom section. The cashier thought I was crazy, cause it was supposed to just show what you could do with their fabrics. Oh well.
I have been watching a lot of design videos on UA-cam, lately. (Quarantine, Lol). But this has to be my favorite by far. As someone with NO experience, just a love for decorating and mood boards. She is giving very easy to follow advise and options throughout the videos I’ve seen.

With IKEA sofas you can buy covers from Bemz and get a fancy sofa for a fraction of the cost. With tile or concrete you should get velvet or linen for a warmer feel. You can never go wrong with grey, white, brown, beige or dark blue. Avoid black if you can. These are basic colors which go with everything. For better results accessorize your sofa with pillows and blankets.

I love ikea 💖my home has lots of touches over the years, my only grunt would be the materials used for bedding, it’s so thin nowadays, I have a duvet set I bought 15 yrs ago! And it’s still brilliant, but the quality was far better then

I love building IKEA furniture it’s soothing to me 💕 Saying that your furniture was from IKEA used to show that you didn’t have money to buy higher furniture pieces but now even people who have the means to buy pricier stuff still shop there. Kallax is my favorite as well. I landed my dream job of decorating medical offices for a certain company and worked in 7 states and set up 50 clinics in those 7 states. IKEA was my go to and only store. When I made reservations at a hotel - the first thing I looked up was where IKEA was. Driving three hours one way to IKEA was worth it. And on my home front - my apartment is totally IKEA. I’m so happy in my home. Love it all

Since I am a homeowner, your advice is phenomenal and you are making me rethink the way I want to do my next couple of projects.
My wife and I need to redo the family room. It is about 20 feet by 20 feet and has a vaulted ceiling with a fireplace.

Loved the big white polar bear for Christmas gifting to all the kids in the family! Wrapped in tissue and stuffed into the red and white poka dot zipper squared off bag for wrapping, it’s the perfect gift for $20.00! And the big sweet dog was shipped to the Colorado kid! What a great find.

As someone living in Sweden, I wouldn't consider denim as "Scandi". I have never seen anyone/anyplace decorate with denim.

Hi again! Yes, black and white in some occasions can come off quite stark. Using warmer tones make a more comfortable inviting space!

Hello 🌈yess I used The pack system in my closet with a pull out drawers etc. very happy with it and looking to do the same thing in my new home I’ll see use the Billy Bookcase system in both my kitchen which was perfect as it’s just wide enough to hold a dinner plate we use the cubes stacked on top of each other and made a very beautiful displayed some with wood shelves some with glass shelves for the crystal drinking glasses and porcelain tea cups and the stainless steel pots on the bottom so almost like a bookcase but with open shelving on the bottom serving dishes and glassware on the top - in our living room we use the Billy bookcase again and had a Carpenter and add custom wood strips were the two bookcases joined to make the bookcases look like they were one solid wide piece along with trim next to the floor and trim next to the ceiling 🤩 = I plan to do the same thing in my new house closet “boudoir 😉 “ & in the library 👌

"Aina" is pronounced "eye-nah", The tj-spelling in "Tjillevips" is pronounced "sh". "Ramsele is a small village with some 820 inhabitants in the middle of Sweden, pronounced "raam-seh-leh". :-)

Kallax is the airport of the town Kalix in the north of Sweden. Kall - like in California and lax as in ”lacks”

Re floating shelves - these never seem to last long, before they start sagging and eventually falls off and breaks. And if you ever make the mistake of leaning on one, you will know it for sure as the whole thing will come crashing down! The ONLY way I've ever gotten one to work is to mount two heavy metal rods into the brickwork, with a resin bonding agent, and then to mount the shelf on that. THAT works..... I've got a wonderful one in my office, which is a hollow shelf, with softly rounded corners, where we used our imagination, and mounted it onto the cast iron shelf of a little vintage fireplace. It is so solidly wedged in place that it can extend right over to the end of the wall on the right hand side of the room, touching the wall there, so a good two metres away from it, forming a very modern, long shelf for all manner of things, and it currenlty has a massive amethyst geode on it, very heavy, and does not budge a millimetre. Best of all, it can be removed with a hammer and chisel - no glue was used!
Oh, it sounds gorgeous! Personally I love a great geode! Yes, angle iron as we call it here is commonly used to support shelves that appear flooding but need to withstand heavy weights. Great job!
I’ve got LACK floating shelves from my bedroom from when I was like 15 years old (I am 31 now), and we discovered a couple years after I first got them that they REALLY need to be in a stud when used on a non-masonry wall. They originally had one side in a stud, and the second fastener didn’t reach because it was sized for Euro studs and not US ones, but the sagging got bad, so at that time my dad drilled additional holes in the brackets that enabled them to be on 2 studs. They have been installed in several houses and rooms at this point, and are holding up great.
I love this - it's like 'Mad Money' but for home decor.

I have acquired a collection of beautiful purses that I consider “art”. I hate keeping them in dust covers in rubbermaid tubs in my closet. Would love to have a wall in my bedroom to display them but don’t want to have to dust them. Any ideas? Thank you
Great question… If they are in a glass cabinet, you won’t have to worry about dusting… And then they would be beautifully displayed and out of those awful plastic tubs🤣👍🏻😘🥰

Kallax is my favorite as well. It looks great and it is so configurable! I use it for a normal shelf, media/TV bench, and a room divider. All in the same room and it looks great.

Ikea is my favourite place where to spend a lazy afternoon. I am in love with some of the products you mentioned, especially the Pax wardrobe system. When I moved in to my one-bedroom condo, I needed a space for my home office, so I converted the walk-through closet between my bedroom and bathroom and added a Pax wardrobe in the bedroom. You see a small section of it in my profile picture on the left. (The piece on the right is a Billy bookcase.) I love this system so much that I don’t think I would build traditional closets anymore if I were still doing or buying custom houses. And I love your videos!
