I grew up listening to this since I was 3 years old when it first came out in 1986. I turn this song up high when its playing. I miss living in the 80s too much.
There was talent throughout the Jackson Family but the most talented that no one talks about is Randy Jackson. Bought his solo album in 1991 solid as they come.
If I have said it once, I've said it a million times, Jermaine Jackson, Rick James & El DeBarge are the 3 most underrated singers, songwriters, producers & multi-instrumentalist in the history of the music business! There is absolutely no damn reason why, Rick James, & Jermaine Jackson shouldn't be in the R&RHOF . You can add Teena Marie & El DeBarge as well !
DJ Gary His point is that Jermaine belongs I the R&RHoF on his own. The biggest omission is Rick James, followed close behind by Teena Marie, then El DeBarge. Michael was one of the first singers who never learned to play an instrument. In previous generations Frank Sinatra and perhaps Dean Martin also were singers-only. What a dreadful shame popular “music” has become (I won’t even call it music).
I list Teena higher than Jermaine, and endorse your advocacy of El. You may have convinced me that Jermaine belongs in R&RHoF on his own, but surely Lady T is right behind Rick. I really hate that Dave Chapel joke pretty much transformed Rick James into a joke, and quite unfairly. Rick for a few years competed with Prince, and Prince even took some concepts from Rick.
Pls. don't associate a legend like Rick James with those two scrubs. (Actually El's alright. Not for the RRHoF, but he at least earned a name for himself.)
So glad they didn't turn the comments off on this because I just wanted to say, thank you Jermaine! You made great songs that stood the test of time. Still listening to this one in 2023!!! ❤
Rumors say Michael actually boycotred his career or JJ said It at some.point...sounds crazy to me but Who knows.with all the success MJ and Janet had Indont think they needed boicot JJ career.
I'm surprised at the low number of views and comments for this song/video. I guess those of us who grew up listening to music like this are the only ones who appreciate this. People are missing out because this is some great music, jmo.
Actually I'm only 16 and I appreciate this music as well 😉 I wish I was born earlier though so I could have lived through the 70s and the 80s because they had the most amazing music and much better entertainers then the ones we have today.
Yes so much better than the negative crap of today seems like current music no singable quality The Melodies are not catching in the same way no staying power at all
+T. Nina Jackson I guess you could call her an up-and-comer, but by the time this song hit the charts in February 1986 Whitney had already charted two #1 songs and another go to #3.
Yes, Whitney Houston as his secret lover 😊Hell during that time I wished he was MY secret lover. Like these entertainers getting blamed for sexual harassment by these women?, OH Nooo I would not have done Jermaine like that I would've still been singing his song "Tell me I'm Not Dreaming🤸♀️☁️🤸♀️
This song makes me really happy. It just has a slight euphoric tone to it I guess. In the first line when he does his "woo-oo-oo-oo" thing, in my head I think something like "Go on Jermaine".
Its no doubt that all of us who came up on gems like jermaine and the rest of the greats really know how blessed we really was . this man and his family are world wide icons and any song on you tube needs too be up in the millions when it comes to him period ! He took the craft seriously as all that was out back in the good days & put out songs we can jam too today & forever ! can u say the same for the bull -crap thats out today ?
GOOD LORD, I was only 14 when this came out! What I wouldn't give to go back and experience this all over again! Sure beats being self quarantined in 2020! That's why I'm here to remenisce! 😄
He probably was copying ole Robert right here. Lol. But both were great music 🎵 artists! There's a video of Robert Palmer doing Jermaine and Michael's "Tell me I'm not dreaming" song! Check that out, it's good.
This song, like many others, takes me back to my freshman year of college in the Spring of 1986. To me, 1982-1989 is the best time ever for music, and so many of the songs from that era instantly return me to a specific time or a place or a moment with a particular person. Only music has that power for me, and what a power it is.
This entire Album “Precious Moments “ was some of his best work. He wrote or co wrote most of the songs. Jermaine doesn’t get enough credit for his writing style. Some of his other Albums are fire too.
I'm tired of people saying Jermaine music is underrated! His music is good for soundtracks for when a movie is starting and you see credits. But that's it. Occupy space music. Not outer space but gap scene music. But he does have talent. Stay blessed.
I'm in total agreement with RestlessRick. This song/video has a great beat and some really smokin' hot babes. IME, Jermaine had just about as much talent as Michael. Of all the musical era's, the 80's produced the best dance tunes by far.
Freshman year in high school, 15 years old at a dance and taking every chance to impress the girls with my moves I practiced. A hundred chances to fall in love!
A lot of your comments say that you're underrated...agreed. I didn't have access to these songs without going directly to your page. I dig this one too.
I can't believe Jermaine has retired from his music career at the age of 68, it explains why he's not touring with his brothers here in Europe, so it is only 3 of the brothers ,
Fantastic to hear this music video with Jerminie Jackson and his wonderful vocals Whitney Houston as always, I'm a fan of this Jackson family. @glaucioromeiro10
The people who do not like this song forgot this song was on Americans Top 10 hosted by the late Casey Kasam stated the song was a top 10 hit I forgot what year but I saw it for myself. So that speaks volumes.
This comment is put in june 21,2023 at 11 44pm my opinion is i dont think that this song is underated at all its very beautiful and romantic especially couples of all races just meeting and falling in love this was a hit back in the 80s and right now its a beautiful and divine song to fall in love with your man or woman❤❤❤❤😊😊
+Alexis Ewing i actually know 257 songs of him... haha!! all of his songs , by counting the rare songs and unrealized songs !! :D it's been 10 months that i am a fan of him! :D

One of my favorite songs. You can't help but sing and want to dance to it.
Jermaine's music is massively underrated isn't it.
absolutely!!!
That's for a reason lol
Yes it is🤔
Underrated or not, more importantly is the song sounds enjoyable.
I totally agree. I am over 60 and I've kept my eye on him. So beautiful and talented just perfect that is other than maxwell
There was talent throughout the Jackson Family but the most talented that no one talks about is Randy Jackson. Bought his solo album in 1991 solid as they come.

Jermaine is in there as a member Of J5 and wait Rick not in there? WTF

This song is very catchy! Has a feel good vibe.
Sadly MTV or VH1 did not show Jermaine Jackson music videos that much. It was a rare occasion that Jermaine's music was on television.
That's because little brother & little sister were on another level!!
Rumors say Michael actually boycotred his career or JJ said It at some.point...sounds crazy to me but Who knows.with all the success MJ and Janet had Indont think they needed boicot JJ career.
VH-1 definitely featured Jermaine Jackson on its channel, I remember that. VH-1 was mainly adult contemporary, r&b, pop music in the 80s.
I have to say.... This Jermaine Jackson song is one of my favorites. They just don't make songs like this anymore. And that's a DAMN SHAME.
I'm surprised at the low number of views and comments for this song/video. I guess those of us who grew up listening to music like this are the only ones who appreciate this. People are missing out because this is some great music, jmo.

Saifyyah Ali i agree because michael jackson and madonna are way better than miley cyrus and justin beiber :)
I agree
RestlessRick hey hey my LIFE is Soul and Funk !!!
RestlessRick, I was born in 2003 and love those songs.
From France, love you Jermaine !
A great pop record that should have been a huge hit...One of his best!
I remember this song growing up... Love the 80s!!!🤗😎🤩😉
I had always felt that the Jacksons' contribution to popular music was music that made the masses feel happy.
Yes so much better than the negative crap of today seems like current music no singable quality The Melodies are not catching in the same way no staying power at all
Still feels good listening in 2023! Love Jermaine’s voice
Esto es música que es agradable no como las de ahora , falta romanticismo, clase
I agree 💯
This is one of the those top HBCU Marching band cuts. Easy to do drills to. Lots of horns, arrangement was killer
you hit the nail on the head with that one. agreed.
LOVE those horns......You don't see or hear that anymore
I've only heard THEE Southern University Human Jukebox play this cut. We make it fit just right.
I LOVE this song, co-written with the great Stevie Wonder and newcomer and up and rising star.... Whitney Houston on background vocals
+T. Nina Jackson I guess you could call her an up-and-comer, but by the time this song hit the charts in February 1986 Whitney had already charted two #1 songs and another go to #3.
@@briansullivan9246 Don't be an asshole.
Now I hear it.
S.W. Overjoyed sounds like it was written by an angel.
Whithey Houston not singing in this song.
I’m glad I grew up listening to Jermaine’s music as a child. So many beautiful music memories ❤
Jermaine should have been an even bigger star. Listen to early Jackson 5 hits. His co-leading with Michael made the J5 sound.
You know how long i'm not hear that song! Was one of my favourite 80's songs from Jermaine jackson!I'm so glad hear and listened that song now!
This is such a catchy song, neither do I believe it's so underrated.
Was a top 20 hit but I agree. All his music and him as an artist are underrated.
This song makes me really happy. It just has a slight euphoric tone to it I guess. In the first line when he does his "woo-oo-oo-oo" thing, in my head I think something like "Go on Jermaine".
I haven't seen this video in over 30 years since the early days of BET. Nostalgia!
Its no doubt that all of us who came up on gems like jermaine and the rest of the greats really know how blessed we really was . this man and his family are world wide icons and any song on you tube needs too be up in the millions when it comes to him period ! I forgot about this one!!! They played the hell outta this back in the day!! LOVE this joint right here!!
GOOD LORD, I was only 14 when this came out! What I wouldn't give to go back and experience this all over again!
Sure beats being self quarantined in 2020! That's why I'm here to remenisce! 😄
That brunette model mimin' trombone is the prettiest! Jermaine hit #16 in Billboard, 4-26-86.
Yup and so is the one on the keyboards.
Great Jermaine Jackson gem. Nice assist by his cousin, Stevie Wonder on this one. Upbeat and positive vibes all around.
Once upon a time there was Music with the capital M... and the emotions multiplied with every note until you flew. How nostalgic ...
Wow, this is awesome! And Robert Palmer thought he had the best backup band!
Alexander O'neal Did. #Criticize lol.
Lisa Cunningham Robert had robot's 😃
@@DJGary0910 Fembots! ;-)
One of my co workers went to a Halloween party dressed as Palmer, with a couple girl friends made up like his backup in Addicted to Love.
He probably was copying ole Robert right here. Lol. But both were great music 🎵 artists! There's a video of Robert Palmer doing Jermaine and Michael's "Tell me I'm not dreaming" song! Check that out, it's good.
I would say it's his best song. Bright, funky, so lightweight - love it!
Na our love story is better
Was a classic in my estimation back in 1986.
Yeah, Brings back some memories at TSU in Houston. Good ole days.
Senior In College When This Came Out University Of Miami aka The"U"
Jermaine was always my fav! Great voice, cute video and he is a hunk.
This song, like many others, takes me back to my freshman year of college in the Spring of 1986. Doctor Stevie Wonder wrote this magic.

My favorite Jermaine Jackson song....
Another forgotten 80s gem that's definitely going into my iTunes music collection.
+Jim Thompson A lot of his music is unfortunately forgotten. Even many of his bigger hits.
Thanks for reading my comment.
Jim Thompson no problem
Love the Afro Sheen hair.
Underrated classic 🔥🔥
I'm tired of people saying Jermaine music is underrated! His music is good for soundtracks for when a movie is starting and you see credits. But that's it. Occupy space music. Not outer space but gap scene music. But he does have talent. Stay blessed.
We’re talking about his talent.

This song is so underrated - absolutely Phenomenal, fun, melodic, danceable tune that endures!
Jermaine’s voice is buttery

As far as 80s joy of "the girl" and whole vibe... THIS'S IT.
Freshman year in high school, 15 years old at a dance and taking every chance to impress the girls with my moves I practiced. A hundred chances to fall in love!

C'era una volta la Musica con la M maiuscola ... e le emozioni si moltiplicavano ad ogni nota fino a farti volare. Che nostalgia ...
My love for you is Real Jermaine Jackson.
I love this song, I love his music,I think I need love, real love.
Musically speaking, I think he's the most talented of the Jacksons . . . .
Love this song. 1986 !! Great memories of UCSB and the great music of this year.
The only songs I like by jermaine is: do what you do,tell me I'm not dreaming, dynamite & I think it's love.😍
Alexis Ewing Great songs.
But eventually I discovered more of his songs. So now it's 11 songs that I like by him😊
The songs you mentioned take me back to high school. I felt his songs should have been top ten. :)
+Alexis Ewing i actually know 257 songs of him... haha!! all of his songs , by counting the rare songs and unrealized songs !! :D it's been 10 months that i am a fan of him! :D

Love this song I forgot about this song!! 💖💖💖💖
First of all I was born in 1985 and I just found out about this song a couple of weeks ago. I like it a lot but does anyone else hear a little bit of Earth, Wind & Fire's cover of The Beatles 'Got to get you into my life' when they listen to this?
Really Good Song!! Jackson Family Soulful Style.
