@@whiteboy311kn Compared to IA many bands sound like sunshine and rainbows, regardless if they are a studio band or not. Their sound is very distinctive and unique, and many bands have difficulty playing to the standard they have set as an example.

It's sad to me that most people's turn off to metal is the vocals. I think it's really underappreciated like people really don't know how hard is it to do vocals, especially like Dickie's. That monstrous sound is incredible. No matter how manly you think you are, skinny little Dickie's got you beat on the scary factor.
The people i've shown these sorts of vocals to, tend to appreciate how difficult the vocals are but they just can't stand how it sounds which I can understand, it's not for everyone.
Infant Annihilator is basically the grindcore version of Steel Panther. Incredibly talented musicians who could easily make it legitimately, but choose the comedy route instead. I love them for that.
You guys should DEFINITELY react to the drum play through of Slaughter to Prevail - Demolisher. Pretty crazy drum on that one too, and another gravity blast
I’ve been playing the drums for 20 years and you don’t play this style of music then go do a wedding gig in the evening. The skills you need to play like this require all of your time to stay in form. There’s no time left for working on your Latin patterns or ghost note technique.
Heavy metal like this needs too much work. Jason Richardson in one of his videos stated if he stops for a few days he loses it and has to "waste" time getting his chops back.
Gravity blasts- press stick into the head and rim at the same time, causes stick to hit and go up, while still pushing the stick into the rim pull stick from the back straight up to cause the stick to hit the head again then repeat this motion. Basically a fast single stroke roll done with one hand.
what i find amazing is , this sounds like one song. One song you have to memorize playing the drums like this, and i'm sure there is easily 10 more songs this insane to play and memorize. blows my mind man. wow.
A drum live cam I recommend to check out is from the Band 'Dying Fetus' and their song 'Homicidal Retribution'; Trey Williams is just awesome and one of the best in my opinion.
Dude on the left has a Cowboys From Hell tattoo 👀 FYI, the sound from him playing isn't what you hear, as they've dubbed the studio recording minus vocals over the top. And he is sat outside. You should definitely watch the drum playthrough for Demolisher by Slaughter To Prevail (performed by Evgeniy Novikov)
RTSRAZORBACK Evgeny Novikov is a fuckin MONSTER behind the kit his heel toe technique mixed with slight swivel technique and push pull blasts are superhuman it’s the main reason why he plays his sticks upside down
You should check the band BROJOB - Be my valentine ft. Dickie Allen (infant annihilator) 'We are the boyfriend stealers' good option too. Better musically in my opinion
'Ey Blokes! Maybe check out anything from Jamie St Merat of Ulcerate. Probably best production is Dead Oceans Live Drum Playthrough. Insane cymbal work. Fell in love with the band because of the drummer... and I'm a guitarist!
If you guys like this check out chris Turner from oceans ate Alaska he has several drum playthroughs my favorites are covert and escapist. Chris has so much more than just plain speed, his control and technique is beautiful
Note: The drums are heavily edited in the studio. Many metal bands program drums (I.e. made inside a computer) or replace the original drums with samples and align every hit into time. I've been a fan of IA since they came out and I've never read anything conclusive in terms of how the are recorded/produced but the general verdict is that they are programmed. Other clues are they have never played live as a band and the guitars are also virtually unplayable (also edited/sped up). As you point out, they have a deliberate shock factor strategy and I suspect that the same applies to editing the hell out of their tracks. It helped them establish themselves and do what the really want to do in Black Tongue and other projects.
From what I've gathered this is most likely quantized and/or programmed. Aaron said on stream that the this song (and most of the first record) was recorded live and then they used the MIDI to trigger a proper recorded drum set in the computer. As for recording (vocals & guitars) in general, basically same as everyone else, taking turns/takes (comping) of certain parts until it all sounds goods together. Pretty much music industry standard. It's wierd this argument is in almost any of their videos "is this real or not". It's a "studio recording" and they have said themselfs it's probably not possible to play a full set live, for them as they are lazy and would need to practice way too much to achieve playing without error. There are videos of Aaron playing 320bpm double-strokes on acoustic kits. It's not fake, magic and whatnot it's just them trolling and making decent music in the process.
You guys should check out their newer stuff, it's better instrumentally, lyrically and vocally. "Empusa Queen of the Damned", "The Battle of Yaldabaoth" and "Necropocalypse" are all awesome!
He makes it look easy because drummers need to stay calm and relaxed. Staying within your head space and a lot of thinking about what you're going to do before you do it.

Just a heads up boys, he uses drum triggers for consistency . Thats the reason it doesn't look like he hits hard and he gets such powerful sound. It's because he doesn't lol
Uncalculated triggers just make the drums sound more clean and consistent when played at high BPM you still have to play every note yourself he’s played this live at a festival on a shitty much smaller acoustic kit and hardly misses a note
7:57 yes, that’s his breath you can see. Idk why it’s so cold in there, other than to keep him from overheating… but he’s highly controversial as to if he can actually play it because real drummers have reacted to this countless times and have noticed many discrepancies.
