    I heard if u wear an adipower on your right foot and a romaleo on your left, your squat goes up 40lbs instantly.

      There are a lot of options as well. Do wins, Ristos, Powerlift, Reebok CF shoes, PowerPerfect etc. These two are very expensive and only necessary for weightlifting. If you're powerlifting or just need a stable platform with a raised heel, any weightlifting shoe or crosstrainer made for CF can do the job.

    Stoked to see you reference the Nike Free's.
    I went into my local sport shoes shops and tried on a pair of Free's as my best indication of what size to buy for the Romaleos.
    I'm ordering them from NZ so I'd rather not have to send back and forwards to get the right size.

    Hi Brandon,
    Owning both nike and adidas I can say that for me a special case a guy with really wide feet, and a more straighter and narrower squat with emphasis on bouncing in the hole that romaleos are much better. The wider sole and the lateral extension makes squat really stable, where the adidas adipower sole is simply too narrow to the point where i feel like half my foot isn't on the sole and I become very unstable as i squat down to the point where i feel like my lower limb tilts medially. And yes both shoe were the same size, and i've got rid of my adipowers. So just for guys with really wide foot, get the romaleos.

    Hey Brandon! have you changed your thought regarding the Romaleos being tighter after using them for a while and being able to brake them in for a long period ? would you have gone with half a size higher or do you feel comfortable with the same size as the adidas? • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  9 років тому +1

      matjusm1 Better build quality and materials (especially the heel itself). The Nike's have the strap in the front to help secure your foot further, also both have better flexibility in the toe box.

    almost 2 years after this vid was released, FINALLY both shoes are available in my country.. a friend of mine wearing the same shoe size buy romaleos first, so I get a chance to borrow it for a workout. (it's practically brand new so it's not broken in). it feels nice but not very comfortable for me.. then I go to the store to try an adipower, and the moment I try it on, I decided to buy it right away.. adipower feels a lot better for me.. (probably due to my relatively narrow feet) it snugs well, and very comfortable.. it doesn't hurt to walk around the gym in it

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  8 років тому

      +Liongky Nugraha The romaleo comes with 2 inserts, one competition style that's very hard, the other is more squishy. Which did you try?

    • @LiongkyTan

      +Brandon Campbell I strapped the front strap really hard, and I tried both insole with romaleos.. it's an excellent shoes, and my lift is practically the same with both romaleos and adipower, it's just romaleos doesn't feel as comfortable for me.. especially the wider toe area..

    • @BasementBrandon

    I hear from a lot of people to buy a 1/2 size smaller. What are your thoughts?

    Hey, if I walked to the gym in the Romaleos, would they hold up or be damaged reasonably quickly (faster than normal shoes)?

      Alright thanks 😊 being not as rich as I'd like I'm thinking of having shoes like that made or just using leather shoes with heels since I can't buy those expensive adipowers or Romaleos hehe

    Great Video. Good point on the Adidas attracting dust. LoL on the out takes. You should make a whole video just on outtakes.

    Did your romaleos stretch out a little bit after breaking them in?

      I haven't found that to be the case. The front strap can be adjusted however to tighten/loosen them.
