Hey Jorge, absolutely agree! As always, very well explained, no fuss, straight to the point. Very much like your style! - I shoot the X100T since 2015. - got an X-Pro1 early this year. Even though I like it a lot, ergonomics, image quality etc. I started to try different lenses, which is fun of course, bought a small backpack to carry everything with me….after a while I realised that I really miss the simplicity of the X100T! I am not a paid photographer, I am just an amateur that loves to capture images, mostly memories, emotions etc, documenting life basically. Can‘t even say that 23mm (35mm ff) is my preferred focal lenght, but it is a joy to use the X100T everyday and tbh, I make the 23mm work! I rather have the X100T with me and not frame a picture perfectly, then having a few lenses, backpack etc…you might not take the shot at all. Thanks for your videos, enjoy them a lot. Cheers from Switzerland
That's great to hear Michel, Thanks for sharing a bit about your experiences! Similar thoughts here, I've been using the X-Pro1 quite a bit lately since I recently reviewed it, made a settings video, and now working on a 5 reasons video, It's a great camera and in some aspects I consider it to be better than the x100 series. However there's some magic to the x100's, beauty in simplicity, ergonomics, easy of use too. My first camera ever was the x100t, and it felt like discovering fire to be honest haha. Glad to hear people still use these cameras and enjoy using them as well. Thanks a lot for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts as well, I really appreciate it! 🙏🏼✨
@@Jorge-Perez thanks for your reply! Only thing I was considering lately was an upgrade to a used ‚F‘ (there is one locally for ca 500$ in mint condition) and if a good used deal comes up to a ‚V‘. But tbh I am not sure it is worth to upgrade, at least to the ‚F‘? As you had the T, the F and I believe the V (or at least tested it) what is your take? Cheers Mitch Ps: just realised you posted an X100V review. Will check that out.
So do I. Just an avid amateur. I love the 35mm focal length - 90% of my pictures are being made with that focal length on FF digital, or via Film analog. Some might prefer 28mm, like onto the Leica Q(Q2) series....but for myself, it's too wide. When i need it a wideangle during landscape photography, it's mostly usually a 24mm lens via fullframe or Film SLR. Greetings from Germany.
Thanks for making this video. Watching it is enjoyable and has motivated me to get out my old camera. I bought an X100 when they first came out and I liked it so much I purchased an X100S when it was released. Then health issues and age conspired against me, and I stopped taking pictures. Your videos, and others, are rekindling the fire. The other day I charged a battery and put it in the camera, which had been stored carefully for a very long time. I think it is working but I am not sure if things are not working or I simply forgot how to operate the camera. The X100S is a great camera, but I would like to buy an X100V if they ever become available. I have heard rumors there may be a replacement for it. We shall see. Thanks again for the great videos.
Haha good! The X-T1 is a bit more flexible and has interchangeable lenses, but the x100 is a great everyday carry camera, great image quality as well. If you use the 23mm on the X-T1 then you'll feel right at home with the x100. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share a comment as well! Cheers 🙏🏼
Hey Jorge, I've basically never shot with digital apart from my phone so I was looking for a digital that would have some of the characteristics that I love about my film cameras. This video really helped in making that decision so thank you for that! My x100 should be arriving today or tomorrow and I can't wait
Very exciting! I think early digital cameras have a lot of the "film" characteristics and aesthetics as well, not sure if it's intentional or just the limitation of the technology at that time. For people like us, this is a great thing. I think it will help make your transition smoother and more pleasant! The most common complaint is speed, but if you're coming from shooting on film, then basically that will not be an issue for you. This "top 5" video is a summary of my full camera review, and I also have a setup video for when you receive the camera and want to tweak the settings! Thank you so much for watching, and taking the time to share a kind comment as well, I hope these videos can help you and offer value to your life! Can't wait to hear your thoughts about the camera after you've used it for a while, so don't forget to keep me posted! Cheers 😁🙌🏼
@@Jorge-Perez Well it basically just completely took over and I've been using it for everything ever since I got it. I absolutely love it. I don't find it too slow and love the images I get with it. It's so lightweight, compact and easy to bring with me anywhere. My poor film cameras have been properly neglected haha. I took it travelling with me a couple months ago around Europe and it never skipped a beat. I've got three batteries and one battery easily lasts a full day and I use the EVF 100% of the time. Couldn't be happier with my purchase but I think one day I'll get one of the newer X100's :)
I got a used X100 about a year after it came out. Just love the looks and the way it operated. I also loved the pics and colours I got out of the camera. I then traded up for the X100S. Somehow I thought the pics are not as nice as before. After a while I traded that for the X100F. Again I wasn't so happy with the higher resolution sensor as I was with the original 12.3MP X100. After a while I sold the 100F and got myself a X-Pro2. The original X100 was slow, quirky and the AF was hit and miss at times. But I still think the X Trans 1 sensor is the best Fuji ever produced. My humble view anyway.
Agreed, although the X-E1 & X-pro1 are a little slow, the colours are great, it's the limited dynamic range and how that affects the highlights that make it look more natural or realistic. The X100 has a different sensor, pre- x-trans, but you can still tell the difference and it looks great in my opinion as well. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share a comment! Cheers 😁🙌🏼
For me, I do have some newer cameras (x-t3 and xh1) and so I wanted something for my personal work that was more subtle but didn’t want to have to sell one of the main ones to get a x100v. I found an x100 for low cost and it’s great. Yep it’s slow but it’s as fast as a film camera which is good enough for me.
Totally agree! That's the real beauty of the x100, yesterdays flagship camera is today's best bang for the buck. The price to quality ratio is incredible. Glad to hear that many people still use it to this day! Thanks for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts as well, I appreciate it! 😁🙌🏼
Interesting, the x-e2 seems fairly small too, maybe the full size depends on the lens? what lens do you normally shoot with? The x-e2 might give you a bit more versatility because of interchangeable lenses, but once you try the x100 series, it will most likely become your every day carry haha. Portability, size and great image quality. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts as well, I appreciate it John 🙌🏼✨
Great video and points! I ended up going with an X100T because the prices were pretty close to an original X100 and there were more available cameras. I’ve been loving the experience so far, especially coming from a quick stint with film. It’s my first Fuji camera and I love the whole experience.
Good choice! My first fuji camera ever was the X100T, great camera, great image quality, and it's a bit faster than the x100 and x100s, so you probably have the best of the bang for the buck ratio of the x100's cameras Thanks for watching and sharing a comment as well! Cheers ✨🙏🏼
After contemplating if I should get the original x100 or the new x100V as my first camera back in March, I cannot thank you enough as the original x100 is a blast.. Slow sure? The learning process has been fun and still is. I have tested the x100v for 5 days even after buying the x100 and look, to be honest, sure its a great camera but something was missing which i cant explain. So thank you Jorge! Keep up the good work! ps. I got the x100 LE since black is way sexier..
Glad you enjoyed the video! My main camera is the x100v, but more often than not I'm going back to using the x100 and x-pro1, the sensors have a unique look and I really love the results as well! Thanks a lot for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts! I appreciate it 🙌🏼✨
Me too. Tried the X100S, X100T. But love the original X100 (LE) There's something special sauce from the original X100. It behaves almost like a film Rangefinder, minus the rangefinder patch of course - but the OVF with LCD info overlay is extraordinary. Technically, the X100V is the best of all current iterations - but part of the fun (if not all) is like the X100 original does look and simply works. For the same reasons, i like to shoot my old CCD DSLRs, it's high iso range looks like film grain, mostly. And the colors...so much less post-processing time, which i general don't like much. Besides the X100, it's my only non X-Trans Sensor camera from Fuji, ordinary using the E1/E2 & T1 otherwise....well, at least occasionally, when not shooting Film.
Agreed! The feel of the camera and how you shoot really matters, and the x100 offers a different type of experience for sure. The X100V is too clean at times, not sure if that makes sense but that is how I feel about it. If I were do to another year abroad and could only pick one, I would choose the X100V 📸 But now that I'm back home and have time to experience and want to have fun, the x100 and X-pro1 are my most common picks! 😁
hey Jorge ! I've been an X-T1 user for about a year now, and I really like this camera. How ever, it is a bit bulky to carry in the streets, and since I live in a city where the crime rate is rather high (at least compared to other European cities), it's not always a good idea to appear with a big camera in your hands, especially if you're alone. That's why I've been searching for a secondary, smaller camera that would be less visible. my two last contendants are the original X100 and the X-E2. both are listed are around 250€. The X100 has the optical viewfinder, integrated ND, and small lens etc, while the X-E2 has interchangeable lenses, better sensor, more features but lacks the OVF (EVF is fine for me though). It uses the same NP W126 battery as my X-T1 though, and I already have 3 of them. I already have some lenses for the X- Mount (a 25mm f1.8, 35mm f2 and an adapted 50mm f1.8) and I'm confident using all three in a street environment. In my situation, would you go for the X100, or the X-E2? I can't really shake my head around it, both cameras have really strong and weak points (mostly, the X-E2 with a lens would be a bit bigger, has no OVF, and the X100 uses different battery type, and has a bit worse sensor + I know the X Trans 2 very well)
Hi Matthieu, You're a member of this small community, so I'll try to take some extra time to explain how I feel about this. If you've watched my videos, then you know that I spent a full year dedicating myself to photography in Japan, just that, nothing else. And that entire year I used the X100F as my main camera. So I'm a bit bias towards the x100 series in general. However, the X-E2 is faster in general, more capable, has interchangeable lenses, and has extra simulations (Including Classic Chrome) which happens to be the best Fuji simulation in my opinion. The x100 is the first mirrorless camera from the Fuji, and it feels that way. If you could get the x100s or x100t for the same price, then that would be a no-brainer, since I really need the OVF/EVF combo & ND filter to survive. The 25mm f1.8 (I'm assuming you mean the 7artisans or the Pergear lens) is pretty small, or if you're willing to shoot with the 27mm f2.8 as well, the X-E2 will be fairly compact. But if you plan to use larger, heavier lenses, then you might have to reconsider. I think the x100 is great, I recommended it my videos and reviews, but it's not as fast or responsive as the second gen cameras, If you're okay with, if you need the OVF/EVF like me, If you need the ND filter, and you don't mind the softness of the 23mm f2 lens when shooting wide open, then the x100 is a great choice. If not, then the X-E2 is the better pick, that way you can pick up where you left with your X-T1 and use the same lenses and shoot with classic chrome! Hope that helps! thank you so much for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts as well! And good luck! 😁🙌🏼
@@Jorge-Perez so, after much thinking, I decided to pull the trigger for the X100. The X-E2, even with the 25mm is much thicker than the X100, and wouldn't fit in my jacket pocket. Worse, the goal was to carry the least money on me as possible, and the X-E2 + lens is considerably more expensive than the X100. + I wanna try the OVF it seems fun to use :D
Speaking LS...whats trigger for supporting it sir..cause on market i find trigger jas supporting HSS system...i need trigger can shot 1/4000 in LS function🙏🏿
Since I “converted” to a Fujifilm system and got my X-E1 I never went back to my Sony and I never leave the house without my Fuji. So yes - the best camera is the one you love shooting with! • Great videos, Jorge!!!
Good to know! How's the X-e1 treating you? I've been thinking about it since it's a rangefinder style camera like the xpro and x100 series. Curious to hear your thoughts on it! Thanks a lot for watching! and for taking the time to share a kind comment as well! I appreciate it Rostyk! 😁🙌🏼
@@Jorge-Perez Jorge, I appreciate your comments! The Fujifilm X-E1 is really TREATING me with fantastic images. It’s a real treat to shoot with. It’s the first time when I really embraced the full manual exposure mode. It renders not only the colours beautifully but also the texture of the image. It’s just different, pleasant and really film like (however nothing will compare to film:) Also ergonomically it’s so comfortable for me that really before leaving the house I make sure my camera is with me. Just to compare - literally yesterday I had to shoot for a client and I had to go back to my Sony a6500… it’s also APS-C, compact body. However I was so unhappy before, during and after the shoot. Skin colours are terrible, the overall look is just not nice. Camera gear does matter :)
I agreed with you. For me shutter noise really attracting people and felt uncomfortable. ND filter is really nice.. bought it because i travel, love street photography and i love light weight and stealth its offered.
Totally agree, I made a video called Top 3 features I want in every camera, and an ND filter is one of them, it really is a game-changer. How's the camera treating you? curious to hear your thoughts. And the leaf shutter is underappreciated, now that I'm testing other Fuji cameras and lenses whilst the mechanical shutter is pleasant, it's also very noticeable, subjects can always tell when I took a photo of them. I hope the video was helpful or interesting! Thanks for watching and for sharing a comment as well! Cheers 🙌🏼✨
Jorge, I have been savoring this video, and I'm on my third viewing of it! Why? Because I have been secretly longing for this camera for awhile. I kept switching, "well maybe I need this one instead, or maybe I'll trade in my old Nikon, (I decided to keep my Nikon anyway)," and now I know this will be camera for me because it does everything that I do with a lesser camera, a Lumix LX7, but this will have a bigger sensor and gather more information! Thank you SO MUCH for making my decision easier. And I am never in a hurry to get a shot, so I will love the slowing down process and the imagery!
My pleasure! I also have a full review of the x100 as well, In case you want to see a bit more about it. I might be doing a giveaway as well in the future, maybe next year. So stay tuned just in case! Hope that the video was helpful or entertaining, thanks for watching! 😁🙏🏼
Great job Jorge….as always. If you had to choose between x100 and x100s, both for a similar price and mint condition, which one would you buy? Does SAB affect both models?
Both! haha, The reason why I chose to test and review the x100 was that it was the first camera and the cheapest on the online used marketplace. If you can get a newer model for the same prince, or very very close, then I'd recommend doing that. I have not heard of the later models having the same SAB issue, so I think it should be fine, ideally, you can test it and make sure it works, or get it from an online reputable seller. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share a comment as well, Stathis. Keep me posted if you do get one! 😁🙌🏼
Yea that's pretty good. Some of my favourite images were taken with my X100T, that's a great camera and still can achieve incredible results. What camera did you have before that one? Curious to hear your thoughts. Looking forward to hearing about your experiences with the camera after you've used it for a while! Thanks for watching and for sharing a comment as well! Cheers 😂✨
Great camera, I felt like when I went over to EVF I managed to get the focusing much better, every other shot became good. However, I ended up selling it after I got the Leica M8u and stopped using the X100, still miss it, great camera but you know, Leica lifestyle baby.
Haha, interesting to hear that, How's your Leica treating you? I think Leicas are probably in most photographers' wishlists 😂 Yes, the X100 has its quirks, but It's still decent enough If you take the time to get the shots you want, something that I mention in my full review of that camera is that If you treat it like a film camera, you win. But now that I'm testing other fuji cameras and slowly going through most of them, I can see the differences and the much-needed improvements to the x100 series. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share a comment as well! I appreciate it! 🙌🏼✨
The leaf shutter does make a noise. It is relatively quiet. Only the electronic shutter is silent. Have a “S” and “T”. Love these cameras. Would love a “V” but the Fuji X100V prices are nuts. Highly inflated. One website I viewed suggest the “V” price gouging is related to1) the camera being touted on TikTok 2) supply chain issues and 3) the wild popularity of the camera. The important takeaway is expensive gear doesn’t improve the quality of your images. Wish it did or I’d have a red dot 🔴 on my camera body. Mask On Nurse Marty
I think for a complete beginner perhaps the X-A7 is a bit more convenient and easy to use, with "Auto" modes and flexibility. However, if you're serious about photography I would get the x100. It will force you to learn and get better at it, and will outlast the X-A7. It really just depends on you, your level of commitment, and if you want to invest the time to get better or just want a great camera that shoots in auto and that's it. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment as well! Cheers ✨🙌🏼
Yes, Most cameras warranty cover manufacturers defect only, but not user damage or physical damage. It's most likely that you will damage it than a manufacturer defect. If you ask me which camera has the potential to make you a good photographer (if you take it seriously) I would say the x100. The only question is: Is that what you want? do you want a camera to use sometimes and have fun? or do you want to take it seriously and learn?
Hi Jorge! great emotional approach, I really appreciate it...bu, how much do you think it is better to start with an x100 rather than a modern entry-level reflex Canon 250D for example?
It's the very first digital sensor of the X series, and they did a great job with it. The X-trans sensor is definitively better in my opinion, but I'm happy with the image quality and results you can get from the original X100. Watch my full review for more info on the camera and photo samples as well! Thanks for watching, I hope it was useful or entertaining, and thanks for sharing a comment as well! I appreciate it! 🙏🏼✨
I have heard a lot of great things about this camera, but I haven't personally used it yet. I want to try a couple of these in the future. However, I personally need a rangefinder style viewfinder. I live inside the viewfinder. So this camera is a no for me. However, I want to test it and play with it because the results look great! and there's a lot of people out there that don't need a viewfinder to take photos. I'll try to get my hands on one of these in the near future. Cheers! 🙏🏼✨
Maybe I'd get that camera or any subsequent years ago, but I'm really, really bothered by the lack of WR. Course I always end up in the rain, snow, desert storm or something like that somehow. And that's pretty much the main reason why I'm opting for the X100V. Course all of my Fujifilm cameras are weather sealed, with no exception.
That's a good idea.. my main camera is the x100v, I purchased it for the same reason: I needed weather resistance and I needed a sharper lens as well. I talk about that in my x100v review, check it out if you're considering getting the camera. That camera might be the right fit for you if WR is a must. Thanks a lot for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts as well, hope this helps! Cheers 🙌🏼✨
i just got one yesterday and it just cost me about 200 dollars ,but the image quality and color is amazing huge different with my sony camera,i have a a7r3 but i dont like to bring it out to shoot because that camera is huge and heavy. everytime i shoot the photos and i need to edit it again but after i got this camera i think lightroom can be remove from my phone XD
Haha good! The word you're looking for is "Soul". The newer Sony & Canon cameras are technically impressive, but the clinical/sterile look is not appealing to me, let alone all the work that must be invested into post production. Those cameras foment the idea of shoot first, ask questions later. But these Fuji cameras are a joy to use, these have a look, a feel and a soul. If you are intentional with your photography and your settings BEFORE you take the photo, then that is all you have to worry about. Happy to hear more people are getting this camera and using it as well. Keep me posted about your experiences after you've used it for a while! Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share your thoughts as well. I appreciate it! 🙌🏼✨
@@FirstnameLastname-bu6vj i buy this camera from online store(totally 220usd plus two battery). actually here we have more cheaper models selling on second hand markets but they are personal users, i'm not sure those machine are still good for shooting.
PSA: The original X100's ability to clear the buffer is absurdly sensitive to the write speed of the SD card being used. Use a card at or above 95 MB/s and thank me later!

The X100S is a great camera, but I would like to buy an X100V if they ever become available. I have heard rumors there may be a replacement for it. We shall see. Thanks again for the great videos.
I got a Xt-1 a few years ago as a bday gift. Ever since that day love Fuji. This video makes me wanna look for an x100.
Good video. My small carry around camera is the X-E2 which is a little larger than the X100. I'm sure I'll eventually wind up with one of the X100s.
@@Jorge-Perez I shoot mostly the Fuji 23mm f2 and the 35 f2. I do have some vintage m42 mount lenses that I shoot as well.
Very good channel. Thank you.
So nice of you, thank you! I hope it was helpful or entertaining, thanks for watching and leaving a comment as well! Cheers 🙌🏼
Great video and points! I ended up going with an X100T because the prices were pretty close to an original X100 and there were more available cameras. I’ve been loving the experience so far, especially coming from a quick stint with film. It’s my first Fuji camera and I love the whole experience.
Good choice! My first fuji camera ever was the X100T, great camera, great image quality, and it's a bit faster than the x100 and x100s, so you probably have the best of the bang for the buck ratio of the x100's cameras
Thanks for watching and sharing a comment as well! Cheers ✨🙏🏼
There was one on KEH yesterday for $649.
It sold in less than an hour.
If I were do to another year abroad and could only pick one, I would choose the X100V 📸
But now that I'm back home and have time to experience and want to have fun, the x100 and X-pro1 are my most common picks! 😁
@@Jorge-Perez thanks for the input ! That's really appreciated !
Amazing video. What’s the lens hood and filter combination on the x100?
What's your go to recipe for the astia simulation?
I just pick up a X100T in Silver 10/10 condition with 3800 Shutter Count for $575, is that a good price?
Yea that's pretty good. Some of my favourite images were taken with my X100T, that's a great camera and still can achieve incredible results. What camera did you have before that one? Curious to hear your thoughts.
Looking forward to hearing about your experiences with the camera after you've used it for a while! Thanks for watching and for sharing a comment as well! Cheers 😂✨
@@Jorge-Perez I've use the Canon 5D Mark III before that so it is interesting to switch to a mirrorless camera in a smaller form factor.
@@Jorge-Perez I'm also thinking of getting either the X100F or X100V.
I think Leicas are probably in most photographers' wishlists 😂
Yes, the X100 has its quirks, but It's still decent enough If you take the time to get the shots you want, something that I mention in my full review of that camera is that If you treat it like a film camera, you win.
But now that I'm testing other fuji cameras and slowly going through most of them, I can see the differences and the much-needed improvements to the x100 series. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share a comment as well! I appreciate it! 🙌🏼✨
x100 isn't the beginning of my camera journey. It's the end, unless it breaks.

Fujifilm xt100 vs fujifilm xa7 which you will prefer for beginner photography
I think for a complete beginner perhaps the X-A7 is a bit more convenient and easy to use, with "Auto" modes and flexibility. However, if you're serious about photography I would get the x100. It will force you to learn and get better at it, and will outlast the X-A7.
It really just depends on you, your level of commitment, and if you want to invest the time to get better or just want a great camera that shoots in auto and that's it.
Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment as well! Cheers ✨🙌🏼
@@Jorge-Perez the fact that xt100 has been discontinued and its will not be serviceable if damaged?
Yes, Most cameras warranty cover manufacturers defect only, but not user damage or physical damage. It's most likely that you will damage it than a manufacturer defect.
If you ask me which camera has the potential to make you a good photographer (if you take it seriously) I would say the x100. The only question is: Is that what you want? do you want a camera to use sometimes and have fun? or do you want to take it seriously and learn?
@@Jorge-Perez thanks 😊
Hi Jorge! great emotional approach, I really appreciate it...bu, how much do you think it is better to start with an x100 rather than a modern entry-level reflex Canon 250D for example?
Hi Carlo, I responded your question on the other video, hope that helps! Good luck and cheers! 🙏🏼✨
This camera has the EXR sensor. If its anything like the 2/3" exr one in the XF1 i have then i want one.
Hi! How about a Ricoh GR?
I have heard a lot of great things about this camera, but I haven't personally used it yet. I want to try a couple of these in the future. However, I personally need a rangefinder style viewfinder. I live inside the viewfinder. So this camera is a no for me.
However, I want to test it and play with it because the results look great! and there's a lot of people out there that don't need a viewfinder to take photos. I'll try to get my hands on one of these in the near future. Cheers! 🙏🏼✨
I’ll be on the lookout for future vids of yours. Love how structured and objective your approach is on your style of photography.
Cheers 🙌🏼✨

Top Stuff
i just got one yesterday and it just cost me about 200 dollars ,but the image quality and color is amazing huge different with my sony camera,i have a a7r3 but i dont like to bring it out to shoot because that camera is huge and heavy. everytime i shoot the photos and i need to edit it again but after i got this camera i think lightroom can be remove from my phone XD
