Well I said I'd watch you do pretty much anything and I did-- watch you drive... Wow!! What a fantastic trip-- and only day 4 !! I'm super enjoying this, the lodge, signs, people, and of course the scenery!! Just wow!! So glad you're out and about. Enjoy safely, and thank you for taking me with you ✌️💕
Thank you for giving us a little lake front relaxation with an awesome backdrop. Your videos are the bedtime stories that take me to heavenly places. Best evening tonic!
I so long for this way of life, wild and almost untameable. The sounds of rushing rivers, tumbling natural waterfalls, not to mention the wildlife, smells and sounds, cloud covered mountains and changeable weather. A truly wonderful experience, Shawn. Count yourself blessed to have experience Alaska, with its diverse and awesome landscape. Thank you, for sharing it all with us. Much enjoyed and appreciated. Awesome. Waiting for the next one now🤗
Good job Shawn. Sometimes its good to do different things beside you and cali and the cabin. To be able to travel and interact with other people, seeing and doing things out of your comfort zone. Thank you for sharing.
superb, Thanks again for taking us along with you. Loved the drone footage , i should be getting to bed as i have to work, but cant stop this video, anyway looking forward to the next video get some sleep Shawn
Wonderful again. I love when you were flying over the land and we got to see as well. Great to see the sheep, and perhaps you’ll get to see caribou! Can’t wait for the next one .
Love the videos from your Alaska trip. Great job making us feel like we are there with you. So happy you were able to experience all the beautiful wilderness. Hopefully you were able to get some more sleep
Loving your travels beyond the cabin. My husband and I have been following your cabin adventures since the beginning. Thanks for your amazing inspiration and travel on! So inspired to build our own place - we're in our 60's now - so we live vicariously through what you've done and wished we were about 10 years younger!
I have been a fan of your channel for some time now. Following all the cabin videos and many others with Joe & Doug. I'm really enjoying the alaska videos. This is one place on my bucket list of places to visit. Great job keep it up. Best wishes to you from Ireland.
Oh such exquisite scenery! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful videos. I was there over 40 years ago an so much has changed but everything is still the same! Its like I’m back there again while watching your videos Thanks again 💜 Looking forward to each one God Bless
the adventure continues! love the drone footage at tern lake. hilarious perspective on 'not so wild' when the wild truly is right there. live, love, laugh.
Enjoying your videos. May I suggest that the camera be pointed in such a way that we see what you are seeing as you drive and talk over the filming. I know you have already filmed and edited, but for future filming it is such a joy for those of us who don’t get to travel and explore like we once did to see what you are seeing.
Enjoying you videos of Alaska and Salmon fishing. A few years back when my Son lived in Wasilla we came to visit him for two weeks. He took us on a charter boat out of Seward to fish for Salmon. And those Salmon are really a heavy fish.
I've been waiting for this one , I've never turned around and found myself looking at a Grizzly bear but just last night as I was leaving for work I found myself staring at a quite large Coyote less than 10 meters away from me . We looked at each other for about 2 minutes and as fast as he appeared he disappeared, although somewhat safer than a Grizzly it was still somewhat unnerving suddenly not knowing where it went.
Awsome series! You got to do , see more than most on a trip like that... Looking forward to seeing you up at the cabin with Calie n your family .. Thanks for sharing! ATB , cheers to a success🍺🍺👍👍😎👍👍🍺🍺!!!!!!!!!!
Ohhh my gosh, the sheep walking down mt. slope. Wow. Another great video. Alaska is majestic. Thanks for all the work you do in sharing these videos. 🐠💞
Dont envy the sleep deprivation but just about everything else. What a fantastic opportunity and knocking off a number of bucket list checks is amazing. As you rightly say, take advantage of every oppotunity, I am enjoying even the routine a mundane stuff too. Thanks again for all your effort in shareing this adventure with us who in reality will probaly never make Alaska.
I can tell how tired you are. Bless your heart. It’s is interesting to see how all that sunlight affects a person. I heard a news report that there are more fires in Alaska right now or over the last month than in the history of the state. That is so upsetting me. Get some rest.
Hello again Sean! Thank you for your kind smile! You're so loved in Portland OR! I'm addicted to your channel & look forward to every video! There's something magical about the way you do what you do!👏👏👏 This is the best channel content out there! Such an amazing blessed man! Enjoy your trip and get some "you time" in! Blessings to you & yours!
Im glad you got to see the goats down near Indian near the highway. Sometimes they come right down on the highway and stop all the traffic. Everyone stops to see them. Right at the big parking area where they cut into the mountain to make the rest area, is a good river to fish in for Silvers and Pinks right now. I could have showed you so much you missed. Hope you contact me next time so I can help you plan a good trip. I've lived here 45 years and I know most of the good spots here in South Central and through out the state.
It is hard to put into prospective just how large Alaska is. I have to admit it has it's beauty's in it. And the variety of landscape is a little mind blowing. Great video it is a little strange seeing you do things you don't normally do.... It's part of the journey and the story.
That pink flower that.s in the background of your videos is called rose-bay willow herb, a fascinating plant and to many a weed, it grows all over the world so it seems. Over here in England its also known as a blast weed because it was the first thing to grow during the second world war on a site that had been bombed. I'm enjoying your videos, thank you for taking the time out to bring us with you on your Alaskan Journey.
Clifford Brookes Thank you. I wonder if that common name is used anywhere here in North America - I've only heard it called fireweed. Chamerion angustifolium
This is so epic! The photography is epic! You know just when to slip in some perfect music. I don't want to miss a moment of this series. I'm glad the bear didn't corner you. I can feel Cali missing you :D I hope she likes the videos too!
I was born here in Sitka, and we get bears right in my yard even though I am in town nor far from the highway. Basically, I live right on an old bear trail so no surprise there. When I was in third and fourth grade there was a shortcut through a wooded area, and once in a while mom would warn me not to use it, but go the long way around because of bears. We have a regular bear watch where people keep track of bear sightings to warn others. It is very rare to hear of anyone hurt, although pets do occasionally get killed. That is always sad. You know where I saw my first bear? Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle at age 17.
That would be so cool to run into you, Shawn somewhere! I’m so glad you were able to take this journey, and can’t wait for the new upload! Thank you Shawn!
Bonsoir !
Hi! Well now that you mention it, it IS strange watching you drive around and with lots of people around. 🤣This is a great great series, though, I love it. And I’m hoping every day I get the notification that you’ve uploaded another one!! Looking forward to your next, new location! I’m getting a little homesick for Cali and the cabin. Good to know you are already back and filming there too. ♥️
Hey Shawn... as always ... loveeee ur content and thank you for it all! I started watching this series a couple days ago and when you showed up in Seward (episode 1) I was like holi crapoli... I was thereeeee :). It's already 15 years ago :( for me. At 58 now, I feel like I've lost the energy to attempt another bike trip or "try" to live your Cabin life style. I still got something left in me (I pray)... just don't know what it is yet. Oh... I wanted to say... the one thing that I did NOT love while visiting the 'remote' areas of this continent was the vast amounts of tourists and people. I ain't complaining as I saw plenty of spots where I was so isolated I would start wishing a human would come along :). I know this vid and trip is already a year old but glad you documented it. The Dick Prominade observations (I watched parts of that a while ago) were / are GOLD. This series just had me figuring out where the heck I actually was on my trip.... I started in NJ, hit most of the national parks in the US then visited some dudes I met along the way who lived in Calgary. From there I hit... Banff, Alberta, Canada (close to my favorite of all) Whitehorse Yukon, Canada Dawson City, Yukon, Canada Chicken, AK Fairbanks, AK Prudhoe Bay, AK Denali National Park, AK Anchorage, AK Homer Spit Homer, AK Seward, AK Valdez, AK at Valdez I took a ferry to Seattle I think.
We used to own a drift boat and floated that section of the river quite often. One trip with a family friend and his daughter we stopped off a ways down river for a bathroom brake and as we were all on the boat waiting on his daughter as she was walking out of the woods about 6-7 feet behind her on the trail was a bear cub with the mom nowhere in sight. She hadn't noticed it so we started telling her to pick up the pace, but to not run and kept her attention on us. As she got back to the boat we pushed off super quick and not a moment later the momma bear came crashing out of the woods onto the shoreline where the baby was now. Definitely one of my most scary and amazing moments with the wildlife here.
A great series, Shawn, but I don't know about you, but I'm sure missing Cali, and Ontario! If I ever ventured out that way, it would be pizza and old historic mines, that's my greatest love, lol...Thanks again, Shawn!
I’m absolutely loving this series. Makes my railroad commute worthwhile! Thank you Shawn!!!
Well I said I'd watch you do pretty much anything and I did-- watch you drive...

What a view there at Tern Lake - amazingly beautiful.
It took me a moment to see the sheep on side of mountain. Thats cool. Just the visuals of that land make it seem endless.
The scenery on your drive was breathtaking. I enjoyed seeing a small part of your flight over the lake.
Thank you again for the time you put in to share your adventures. Beautiful country. Awesome job!. Always amazed!.
