  • As housing costs continue to rise, more and more people are looking to alternative types of housing. In today's video I go over the pros and cons of choosing these types of housing solutions. What works best for now or seems easiest may not be what is best for the long term. I would highly recommend anyone considering this type of housing solution to look at all the benefits and drawbacks before making a decision. Neither is right or wrong, it's just important to be informed.

I actually live in a mobile home, on my own land (we also have a 2 car garage with electricity). I know you didn't mention that in this video, but they are a cheaper option for those looking to buy a home. Our mortgage payment is less than our rent was in a one bedroom apartment, leaving us money to save for repairs or updates and to put more towards our loan. Just discovered your channel and am so into it!!

Tiny homes can be brilliant if you are already minimalist.

Husband and I live in a tiny home. Our home is 780 square feet stick built. Before we bought are home we lived in a 5th wheel for a few yrs. And we lived in our camper in sub zero temps and I wouldnt say it was fun at all. Cost more to live in our camper then in our home. It's easy to live simple.

We live in under 600sq. ft. with 2 children. Not considered tiny but it is a small house considered legally a secondary dwelling on a primary residence. All the people I have met in THOWS(tiny houses on wheels registered as RVs legally) full time are not looking for the "normal cycle" of buying 3+ houses as their needs change and want out of that rat race mindset. Putting in the time to research and plan the options of customizing and considering the future like kids or retirement are usually put into the design unless they are using it temporary housing. Planning on where to park is just another part of the process to consider to judge if it will be cheaper or not. Every state and each person have different circumstances and laws to consider. I love that you made a video mentioning that these alternatives are possible!

Why do we need to live like this? Our parents didn't. Do we not work just as hard and much?. All's I'm going to say is every year their are a thousand new millionaires in China while at the same time every year we are down sizing. One might then say... Well good for them they probably work harder there for they deserve it. No, that's not the case. The facts are China has no environmental laws, work safety, no workers rights, ect. The only way to compete with that is to become a sweat shop here in America. OR to inact a tax to even the playing field. We used to have this tax up till 1994. Our politicans sold us out that year..so instead of exepting this this fate maybe we can do something about it.

Nafta sold us down the river, and then Americans buying all Chinese goods makes it worse.Europe and China love dumping on our economy, they made a fortune with our lopsided trade deals. Now trump is attempting to even the playing field and they don't like it-we have been their cash cow for too long. It cant be cheaper to make goods in china even if you consider they have slave labor because no one seems to add in the cost of the zillions of gallons of oil the ships burn going to and from china. We can make goods here for US consumption ,and we can be somewhat competitive overseas. The biggest problem is we built china up while we became dumbed down and behind. We should be willing to pay more for goods that are American made, its time we support our own! You see how supporting china has worked out for us.

a4000t WRONG. It's not time to.try to compete with slave labor. it's time to.reinstate the tax's that protect us from this type of unfair trade. Second we bring back the counsel on un American activites. Who would have found the lawakes who passed this garage with treason. This counsel has sent many away for far less. Wonder why it's gone...hmmm

I would hate to live in a big house, all that housework no time for doing anything else.

They're terrible for the environment because they don't have any insulation.
