very much exciting, 120fps, 4k internal, AF system, 5 axis image stabilization, and slog 3 what more can we ask for,............sony u have done an amazing job.....please lower the price a bit more so that we can place our hands on it.
Ok a little more realistic, the IS doesn't works well in video mode, the AF is a hunter, so scratch that off your list.
What is going on in the pull focus at 0:39 , looked horrendous. Is that the stabilizer? Or the auto AF causing that?

I've had a Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Fuji, but the Sony Alpha series are the best cameras on the market. The new A1 takes Sony to an even higher level, Canon and Nikon can't even touch Sony the Only real competition for Sony was Panasonic, but with the A1 even Panasonic can't compete.

I thought the sensor is the most expensive component in the digital camera but the price of the a7SII is not far below than that of the a7RII. The most significant difference between these 2 models is 120fps at 1080p. I may have to wait for 120fps @ 1080p on the next gen camera model which has a high density sensor like that of the a7RII. However, I don't deny the fact that these 2 models are awesome and I would buy them if I were a professional (making a living) photographer.

I wish this 4K video was in 4K. Why did Sony down-res from 4K to 1080 to show off the 4K camera?
oct 10, 2015, I brought the FDR AX1, but it shows grains in the movies, which Sony cameras have no grains? Does the F65 also have grains?
Does the 4K recording go in 120 or 60 fps or just 25?

Also, is it just that I have extra sensitive retina? There seems to be much less nuanced small scale colour variation than I see with the 4:2:2 codec - which would be expected, but this camera is now being pitched at the professional market. Like using primary flavours from a limited palette. So orange is generally orangish, green - greenish, red - reddish etc. It gives the images a slight artificiality, however stunning they are in other ways. The PXW-X70 is less expensive and delivers 4:2:2 /10bit into an XAVC-L codec, so this isn't saying anything particularly radical. It just seems that Sony have crippled the full potential of the A7S II sensor for no good reason.
+kipling1957 I don't think that SD cards can handles the data rate for 422 10bit, but if they have it via HDMI then that is awesome.

+Max That wasn't the point I was making, and I agree. The A7SII clearly does have a superior sensor, and therefore deserves a much better codec, such as that employed in the PXW-X70.

What's the bit rate with this XAVC-S codec? I think I read its about 60 Mb/s - which seems a bit low for 4K (e.g., compared to the GH4).

Well usually when guys consider buying such an expensive camera we know the schedule of all the tech shows etc. We check a website Sonyalpha rumors, or we at least know the number of years tween cycles for refreshes. Pick one. So yeah, I still don't get it? You don't have to be on any forum.

i refuse to buy another sony product until sony fix the firmware for A77 first version which i bought under the intention that it did tethering and sluggish. It might be.. I'm not sure..
A lot of people claim the HDMI out on the A7s is 8 bit 4:2:2 compared to it's internal 8 bit 4:2:0 recording. I've not found a single official source to back up that claim though.
Whether that holds true for the A7sII I don't know.
