I want to see a Z90V / AX700 update more than anything. Compact top handle prosumer camcorders since the VX2100 have ways one of my favorite form factors.
Sony back at it again! I sure hope you can do more stuff with the Sony Handycam again! Maybe there can be some features that might be inherited by the XDCAM and the NXCAM, or maybe changing the aspect ratio like 4:3 or 16:9.
I just got my NX 800 yesterday and I am totally surprised on how small it is. I guess as expecting something bigger by the looks of it in these videos. But nonetheless, the image quality is beautiful. It’s pretty close to my FX 30. Not as much depth to field, but the stabilization for the lens being zoomed out all the way is really good for handheld. I’ve been trying to get familiar with everything and tested out the auto framing feature, and I’m telling you what Sony, you blew my mind with that feature. It’s like your own cameraman Panning back-and-forth while you’re walking around and it zooms in and out. I didn’t think it was gonna do that. That makes it worth every penny so I can use it at weddings while I’m taking photos and use the monitoring control app and lock onto them and just press record and, it’s gonna do the job for me. I don’t know if the monitor control app actually adjust that feature but if not, I’ll just do it with the LCD screen and I’m good. So far, I’m really happy.
I would LOVE to see a example of the 20x optical and then the 30x clear image on this... I have the AX700 (12x/18x clear image) and the clear image for me is very usable! I do (as a hobby) wildlife videos, and I would love the 4K-120 and the 30x zoom... Like a lot of people here would be totally happy with an "AX-800" version since I have both the dji mic 1 and mic2 systems and Rode mics that work fine for my usage even though, as a studio I have neumann mics and AKG's that are world class, but don't make sense for this application. PLEASE send examples of the difference between 20x and 30x clear image... I would bet more than just myself would appreciate that.
I currently have the AX700... for me basic feature wise perfect, but would like the Optical and Clear Image zoom on these AND the 4k-120!!! WILL THERE BE AN AX800???
I too want that! I want an AX53 update (keep the viewfinder, ditch the weird gimbal lens), a Z90V update, and a Z280 update. I’ll get one or more of each!
@@billmakesmovies I like the gimbal, but these days with active digital stabilization, it is probably not necessary. Sony could greatly trim down the size and weight of the camera while improving image quality. I would love to see one with a larger sensor 10-bit color and 4K 60p.
@@LongLongHoneymoon all of the footage I watch out of it handheld (from a documentary series I watch a lot of) is all jumpy. @@billmakesmovies the AX53 was originally released back in 2016. It has dated tech for sure. I also have an AX700 (released in 2017) and it's quite dated too (with the worst menu system ever!). A lot of us would pounce on an updated camcorder.
@@TheSeanMichael I have some work that I want to do that would require like 2-3 AX53 sized cameras, and two Z90V type cameras, but they're all so old now that I don't have any interest in buying them. Thought for sure that CES and NAB was when we would see updates to all of these camcorders, but we didn't. Kinda surprised we got this Z200 now, I thought for sure they had abandoned camcorders all together! AX53, Z90V/AX700 are all camcorders I'd buy, just not these ones now. I want new and improved.

Z280 would probably produce a cleaner image still with its 3ccd sensor, but it’s going to have a different look to it than the bigger 1” sensor in the Z200. The Z200 will do 10 bit, but it has some serious looking noise at times that I wouldn’t want to put up with. I’ll be holding out for a Z280 update, which should demand a higher quality sensor and better features for the money. We can only hope this will be soon. It is a bit odd they didn’t announce two camera offerings at the same time. In 2018 they announced both Z190 and Z280 on the same day I think.
