Hey Mr Busker. I hope your UA-cam restart works! Im just here to say thank you for teaching me how to cook. You and Gennaro Contaldo are definitely the reason i stared cooking! You are a great cook and a great presenter. Keep killing it!
It looks delicious. In this world, love and food should not be let down. I'm a chef from China. The first time I see this kind of cooking, it looks good.
You are such a great human being! I followed your chanel since your Piri Piri Chicken recipe and a few of your recipes made it into my personal cooking hall of fame! Please keep up the good work! I love you! Btw... Best recipe? Korean Pork Belly brothers and sisters!
Im drooling, but what blew my mind is how easy you made that chilli jam!! Would you do eventually a series on preserves? That might be easier on your back too! (hope you're recovering well) Greetings from Guatemala!
I've never seen these mushrooms before. I'd probably run away scared if I ever encountered one though, really surprising that they grow to that size and are edible.
This is a new one for me and love it - will be looking out for some puff balls in Devon so I can try this recipe. More like this would be awesome! I love my meat but this looked proper lush!
@@davesandford226 We would go out behind my grandparents farm towards the river to search for them. We'd slice them up and fry them like a steak. I'd almost forgotten about them. Nostalgia is wonderful.
Wild foraged mushrooms are great. My dad, and my uncles were good at finding them on the farm, and in other places. They were great when they were cooked up. That looks great. Cheers, Chef John. #IncreaseThePeace ✌️
I just found out about these mushrooms yesterday and now UA-cam's recommending your video. I didn't look them up online or anything, someone else showed me pictures of them. What weird timing. Either way, looks delicious!
Hatten gestern einige Fichten-Reizker, Maronen-Röhrlinge und einen Flockenstieligen Hexenröhrling ^^ Und nen Riesenbovist die Tage zuvor am Wegrand im Park, schön Schnitzel gemacht. Dir viel Erfolg!
@@foodbusker I have picked the big one lol .I know from my first experience last year the flesh doesn't hold its firmness and whiteness for long once harvested eaten best the same day or within 3 days max I will offer to share with friends neighbours yet they were highly skeptical last year so I gave to the Chinese takeaway ! Seems a shame to make soup with this magnificent fungi I will slice and saute with a lil oil butter garlic salt and cracked pepper Thinking now I will then add Fresh chopped chilli and turmeric to half and make as a Thai curry base I have coconut milk in so that will compliment well .😀
Jus remembering so adding to the story I found out later the Chinese chef recognising the eating quality (it was his first sighting of puffball ) and ate it all that night cooking it up for himself and his staff 😀
Back in the 80's when I was a wee'un, my dad used to take us out in the autumn to forage sweet chestnuts and puffballs. He was never (and still isn't) the best cook, bless him, so I'd eat the chestnuts on our open fire, but the puffballs... :/ Now I'm older, and I love mushrooms I'm so glad to see an actual recipe using them! I know what I'll be doing over the coming weeks. Thanks, chef!
I found a puffball the size of my head in my backyard last year, but it was past its prime. The kids and I had a good time spreading the spores around. My 5-year-old son kept saying the puffs of dark spores looked like "cartoon stink". I was sure we'd have puff balls everywhere this year but I haven't found any yet. I wonder if it takes a couple years for them to grow from the spores?
Hi mate, not sure if you have the time for this, but could you write out the ingredients and amounts in the description of your vids? Would make it a ton easier to make a shopping list. Can follow the recipe itself by watching the video. Thanks for considering! ItP!
I don't think, I'm gonna get this kind of mushroom where I live, but I'll try the recipe with some other. I'm really happy about you doing a vegetarian dish. I hope you keep on doing so …😃
Looks great! I've got some home grown chillies that are begging to be made into a jam! Any tips on finding puffballs? I live in a pretty rural area in the North West of England with both woods and open fields nearby so I figure they should be around somewhere, but I've never seen any around here (and I think the largest I've ever seen anywhere was about the size of a tennis ball).
Just happen to live on a farm with a massive country estate... And here I was thinking you were a man of the people slumming it in some sarf London estate. Innit.
Simple but completely mesmerizing! I am absolutely delighted to see one of my favorite UA-camrs back in action. Bravo, John!

I used to just have little ones where I live...then I spread the giants spores.
I love puffballs so much. They really are like meat.
Brilliant! Save the trimmed bits, and bury them in a nearby field to encourage more puffballs!

Last time I was this early, John was still going out in the street and asking people how much they'd pay.
The English countryside is so beautiful. As a country, its urbaness dominates most peoples thoughts on it, but it's so incredible
Well said 👍

I’ve had a slab of puffball every day for the last month n a half. Just eat a whole little one. Mmmm good!!
That’s a hell of a farm you got there John. Must be nice.
