I find that people who fixate on wording tend to ignore the reasons *behind* why words mean what they mean, which is really terrible when the reason behind them is more important than the word choice. I made one-sixth recipe, added garlic instead of chives, used mayo and not that much citrus. holy cilantro farm! now I'm addicted. I sneak roast beef and provolone, roll them up into long cigars and dip it in this. Going to cook cauliflower, cool it and dip those in it tomorrow. Plus wedges of potato, with sour cream. Made roast beef and provolone grilled pita with this on it (I didn't have sourdough or other bread due to gf shopping). Plus made a breakfast tortilla and used this sauce as a dip. Restored my respect for cilantro. Also mine was not that hot. The jalapenos were very mild. Fabulosity!

    Optimum Juicing limes,
    have skins that are smooth and almost glassy in look and texture. These will yield anywhere from 1/3rd more, and generally up to twice as much more juice,
    Than a lime with a bumpy porous skin.
    You have to look through the bin at the store very carefully, as both kinds of limes are found in the same Orchards and even on the same trees.
    Also, to have an easier Juicing experience;
    Lay the lime on your counter or chopping block before cutting and press down firmly with the palm of your hand as you roll the lime back and forth.
    This will loosen the juice from the cells for a faster and more satisfying experience.

    I forwarded this video to my son, bought all the ingredients, and he made this sauce for us. We have YET to put it on grilled cheese, however, we have put it on Tacos and Roast Beef sandwiches and we are planning on making huge VATs of this sauce to have it on hand for every meal for the rest of our lives. It's so delicious. Thank you so much for this sauce. Tell your brother he is a genius. I have been trying recipes for over 30 years and have found about 30 recipes that are keepers and I will be passing to my children and grandchildren.

    I'll definitely be trying out this grilled cheese sandwich for sure - and with THAT sauce...
    And, like each and every time I try one of this guys recipes, I'll be fostering a New York / Brooklyn accent as I talk my way through the entire cooking process - even though I'm English, because it feels somehow mandatory when doing one of his dishes!
    Yet another fantastic recipe with yet another fantastic, signature delivery..

    Hey guys, the blade he put in the freezer to "keep the greens cool" is gonna keep its cool temperature for roughly 1-2 seconds, so you might as well just wanna skip that step.

    • @JohnnyWortel
      @JohnnyWortel 3 роки тому +54

      no its because of this: cold blades cut better -> machine doesn't overheat -> greens stay cool. Its the same if you're using a meat grinder, that goes in the freezer before as well

    • @corey1845
      @corey1845 3 роки тому +125

      @@JohnnyWortel hey, I am aware of that. And it does make sense. The blender blades however are usually very thin and the plastic doesn’t hold the temperature anyways. So you Are definitely not wrong here and a massive cast iron meat grinder and it’s blade should be as cold as possible. But here it most likely won’t have a huge impact on the process of blending. So it’s more important to keep them sharp than cold.
      I wrote my original comment because many UA-cam cooks tend to give these kind of tips and steps to sound smart but it doesn’t necessarily is. Cheers mate.

      @Valandril 3 роки тому +61

      The blade he showed in the video will become warm in literally 1 second so that is completely pointless.
      Besides that there's not a big incentive to keep it cold in the first place
      A meat grinder is kept cold because warm meat will become sticky and let out fat
      It might even get a little bit cooked, which is absolutely not what you want

    • @sam9239
      @sam9239 3 роки тому +10

      Agreed. I mean if you want to do it, then go right ahead. But forgetting to do so isn't going to make any difference either. Meat grinders on the other hand are different story and require to be cold/frozen.
