hey man, that's an awesome example of what can be done. if u can keep that conserved like that for a few more decades this will have so much sentimental value more than it already does. great sample from this store and nice video!
I had one of these brand new in 87 or so...also had a Honda spree the Aero was geared lower I think had lot more power than the spree....anyway long story short someone stole them both and dropped them into a pond they was underwater engine locked up on the Aero I unlocked it took plug out put in wd 40 took off foot crank and kept working it with ratchet took me long time I got it freed up it fired up I had been working on it long time so I was stoked super happy it fired up it was smoking sputtering I jumped on it took off I was thinking it charge the battery up more but I got to 2nd street over and it died....I had forgot to PUT OIL back in it and it locked up again....I junked it then I was heart broken...the spree never ran right after that either....those brought back memories of good times the 80s
Just bought my ever vehicle ever today and I came across this video doing research on it. It was a 1985 Honda aero and she needs some work but when he says it rips, it does. I’m 6’1 and 185lbs and it needs new tires since both are dry-rotted and flat and she still got up to 25mph stock
I have a 1983 aero 50. completely rusted, 31k miles, runs great still to this day somehow. Dead battery. only problem I have is the kickstand is completely rusted and bent, so it needs to be leaned on a hill.
Yes, they are worth money but only if the plastics on them look as good as the one in the video. About 15 years ago i replaced all the plastics on one i was rebuilding for a customer and the only color available from honda OEM covers was red. But obviously if your blue plastic is all washed out from sun fading and same with the white its not worth anything, its just a rare livery at that point.
You do have to remove the airbox but not the rear shock and obviously you have to take all the rear body covers off to get to the carb. The one thing i stress to you is on those old honda's is you need to be extra careful when removing the carb from the intake manifold that is attached with two bolts to the carb. Make sure you dont strip out the threads by over tightening them back into the carb once you have it cleaned. It is aluminum and is very easy to pull the threads out of it. Very common problem. Some people are able to run a longer bolt and put a nut on the end of it, but mostly if you do this you will have to replace the entire carb. Hope that helps.
thank you for your help...and i am replacing the carb and thats why i was asking about what i had to take off because evidently these hondas have different procedures (ex...aero50,elite,spree)once again thank you
I had a Honda spree and arrow 50 and an elite. That thing is way too, be Christine and stock because all of them of the 3 I just said are super quiet and yours is really loud. So it must be missing the muffler or had a muffler delete. But nonetheless, I loved my Honda spree. My arrow 50 and my Honda elite.
Hello, I am searching for a 1985 Honda aero 50 gas tank w cap. Does anyone know of or have one for sale. Thanks. Or a complete scooter if the price is right.

I owned one identical to this only with a different livery.Black with red guts, rare. That white with blue is super rare. Take my money!
are they in the blue and white really rare? i have two of them
