I can't thank you enough for your video PART 1 and PART 2. I just finished up my change out for an after market aluminum one on my 2014 Charger with 340K Kms. It was filling the V for sure. Your step by step is fantastic and awesome camera angles too. I could not have done this without you so thank you so much. It was a bit hard to clean out that V for me, with only a hand transfer pump, but it worked. Lots of rags too. I wasn't able to get it as spotless as you did. I wiped it all down best I could, hit the exterior with some break cleaner, and, well, It's not like you can see in there anyway. It was mostly dry when I got done mopping. Thank you again for Part 1 and 2. This is the second major job you helped me with. The other was spark plugs needing that upper intake off. Great resources. Subscribed for sure!
6 years later and this video still helpful. My wife has a charger and it started leaking oil I checked it and it’s the oil cooling housing unit.. my mechanic quoted me 1600$ so I helped the wife by doing it myself. It’s a messy job but ur video guided me thru everything. My automotive skills are probably a 5/10 but I’m happy of myself for completing the job and now the wife is happy that her car runs and we don’t have to share my vehicle anymore lol😂

Very well done. I just did this for my 2019 charger. Things I learned. DO NOT skip the coolant drain. Let the car sit over night to let the oil settle back into the pan. I had two major issues, my hose clamp snapped in two and i had to order a replacement. I had tons of coolant over the block. My bad for not lowering the amount of coolant in the system. The oil Cooler I received had the incorrect oil pressure sensor. I had to swap the two, to get it correct. I highly recommend you double check this before installing, and if you need a replacement get a NEW OEM. I reused mine but wished I had checked prior, so i could get the correct one. Takes less then 2 hours to do. I also replaced my plenums with ported/polished new ones. That makes the rest of the work interesting with removal of Fuel injectors. Thought it would be smart to do it all at once.
I’ve had disappearing coolant for a while and no signs of a leak. This was it. The amount of coolant that was puddled under the cooler was insane. You saved me money by switching to a 2015 housing instead of a 2012 and doing it myself. Great video. Mine was a Jeep Grand Cherokee but the methods were all the same.
Awesome.....appreciate the feedback and glad it turned out great. Thanks for letting me know how it went. Make sure to subscribe if you havent already.
Thanks for taking the time to put together such a thorough methodical video. It helped me tackle my wife's 2014 Challenger that was leaking oil and saved me a lot on labor. I didn't have a suction pump but used a large syringe to suck out the oil. I did start by accidently torquing the 5 bolt thinking it was the 1 and backed it out then tightened everything in the proper sequence. Didn't see any leaks, hopefully that didn't cause any problems with the seating of the housing.
Great video. Thank you for being so detailed, especially with the torque specs and bolt tightening sequence. One nuance that I ran into is that the engine in my 2011 jeep grand cherokee laredo sits about 6-8 inches further back than in the video and to get at one of the upper manifold brackets required removing the wipers, wiper motor, and the cowl, which turned out to be the most difficult part of the entire job.
When it comes to that vehicle I recommend a swivel socket so that you dont have to remove all the wiper related items. Thanks for commenting and for the great feedback/kind words. Dont forget to subscribe.
Thanks for watching and for commenting. Glad that the install went great. Appreciate you using the video to take on that job. Dont forget to subscribe.
Thank You! I just finished my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 3.6 oil cooler replacement. I had to remove the cowl, wipers and loosen the firewall gaurd. It was the only to get to the 13mm nut bolt on the bracket. Without your video there is no way I would have tried this myself. You are a great instructor!
1:01 into the video and I thought to myself this dude knew exactly what I was thinking when I noticed my oil leak! Thanks for this video man much appreciated

great video. thank you sir, you did a great job. i replaced mine yesterday on a 2017 dodge challenger sxt everything came out good. i followed your instructions step by step and it was easy. you made it easy. i appreciate the time you spent to create this video to help other people.
So glad I found you on here and wow, you're a great teacher! I used your videos to remove the oil cooler on my 2014 Jeep Cherokee 3.2L. Now I am wondering if I could get by with just replacing the gaskets. thanks for your videos! Awesome job David!
It needs to at least be drained below the cooler level. I think its a great time to drain the coolant and refill with fresh. Coolant isnt expensive and you will be doing a service at the same time.
@@MotorCityMechanic can I ask why it needs to be drained? I plan on doing this to my wife’s jeep on Wednesday. I will gladly drain it but I just want to know why
Thank you for posting this video. Just got bumped up from lube tech to technician at work and have to do this job tomorrow. I appreciate how you provided tightening sequence and torque specs as well.
Cant say enough good things about this man excellent explaination not only install but oil trailing back leaking down by trans..thank you very much Sir
Followed your guide, used a doorman all aluminum setup.... If youre close to 100k do your plugs and coil packs. I left off the 4 bolts that mount into brackets off for future ease of work. Great tutorial!!
Thank you so much for this video, did everything exactly to the tee and worked out perfectly! Thank you so much. Took my time with it and got the job done with new oil and antifreeze added in about 5 hours. Had some trouble removing the old sensors since I don’t own a vise but was still able to get them off and reuse them. 👍👍
I just did mine this past weekend. I drained mine. Just bought some brand new fresh anti freeze to put back in. I doesn't have any car mechanic experience. But I knocked it out and no more leaks after 2 days.
I SUPER appreciate the video, but I have a couple of questions: 1. Do you have to drain the oil before doing this? 2. What model of needle nose pliers are you using/recommend for this? 3. When draining the antifreeze, is it going to drain the entire capacity (lines and reservoir) or only the amount held in the lines? Thanks in advance and excellent quality video!
I drain the coolant when doing the repair. Depending on the mileage it could be the perfect time for the coolant to be changed out. Its just the method I use so that I dont have to deal with any coolant coming out the cooler when I remove it. As far as needle nose pliers.....I use no specific brand. To be honest they most likely came from Harbor Freight lol. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe. Enjoy the weekend
Hi, Dave! Merry Christmas! I successfully replaced spark plugs on my 2014 Chrysler 300 watching your video. I've noticed engine oil presence or may be coolant on V - shaped valley area. I figured I may have spilled some oil there. Watching your video, I confirmed that there is a problem with oil leak. I spotted presence of some liquid there when it new. . Now I have driven 14500 miles, it is throwing OBD ll code as as well - P0305. I went online it's say bad spark plug, fuel injector etc... I don't think so. I believe the problem is with oil leak - vacuum leak causing rough idling and feels like misfiring, etc... I would let you work on it but you're a few thousand miles away. I hope I could replace filter housing myself watching your step by step video. And my 300 due for complete coolant flush anyway and I will replace water pump and thermostat as well. Thanks!
David, great video and I thought for sure this was my oil leak. It it is dripping right on top of the transfer case on the drivers side and I can’t see where it is coming from. Stuck my phone above transfer case as best I could and everything is dry. The intake area and bell housing have no oil.
I replaced the oil filter housing on a 2014 jeep wrangler which was the issue with massive oil leak. But it is still leaking oil no where close to what it used to. Any ideas? Thanks
Great research for me. I have a 2016 Ram 1500 and have oil all over the transmission bell assembly and pan. Gonna see if this is it when I get my transmission serviced. I'd do the transmission myself but the 8 speed is a pain to fill and has many specific requirements.
Got the confirmation from the technician today when servicing my transmission, was the oil cooler. Got the parts gonna replace it tomorrow. Of course the wonderful 8 speed was a pain to fill. The technician had to stop part way through as the temperature went above parameters when filling it. Of course I also am going to have to replace the front differential soon as well. So if you were able to do a video on that it would be great.
Great video. My cooler isn't leaking, but I must replace the oil pressure sensor, code 6dd. I was looking and seemed to think I could get to the sensor from the back. First, remove some things in the way. Cowling, etc. This will result in less cussing, removing the complete upper, or going around the back of the motor?
Ok. Got it. The pump itself is mechanical except for the Solenoid. I realize that once you have the pump out, replace the entire unit. But most likely, it's the Solenoid causing the problem. Would it be cost-effective only to replace the Solenoid? Thx @@MotorCityMechanic
Thanks for everything. On another question, regarding the 2012 Charger, will I have to remove the upper oil pan and the timing cover to access the oil pump? Thx @@MotorCityMechanic
choche videos There is no need in changing it unless your close to the oil change interval/mileage. You did just put a new filter in so changing it wouldn't hurt however. The choice is yours. Check the oil level if you don't change it and make sure the level is correct. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe
The MOPAR O'ring in the repair kit # 681913 was smaller in the cross section than the O'ring that came with the after market complete oil cooler unit from AA Ignition. This video is excellent and after viewing two or three times It gave me confidence to remove all those parts. I would like to know the dimensions of that one O'ring. It may be that parts suppliers have sourced the O'ring with cross section tolerance that makes for loose and leaky fit.
Thanks Donald for that info. I havent dealt with any of the aftermarket coolers/filter housings. I soooo hate using aftermarket parts due to the failure rate. I am curious to see one to see the differences that you spoke of. Thanks again for the info and make sure to subscribe.
I have a 2012 Dodge Charger 3.6 I have oil in my coolant and it is really thick like peanut butter.. when I change the oil cooler do I need to try and flush the system first or do it after I replace it
Great video! Unfortunately I didn’t make it past step 1. I turned the drain 1/4 CCW and no antifreeze comes out. Is there a trick? I’d rather not have to pull the lower radiator hose. 2016 Chrysler 300 plastic stopcock.
Can you replace the oil filter housing on a 2011 with the newer style filter housing? I have a broken tower in the housing, the bypass valve is okay but the tower itself broke at the bottom. I see the new ones use a different filter with its own valve.
Evening Matt. To answer the question.....yes you can. The issue that comes up is someone trying to install the wrong oil filter. They will get a filter based on the year and not know its wrong and still try to install it. So you will have to educate them on what it really takes but yes it can. Thanks for the question Matt and make sure to subscribe if you havent already.
I have the '18 Pacifica and need to replace mine so not sure if ill do the Oem 100% sure fit or aftermarket aluminum as i hear those can leak to even Doorman as the bottoms arent surfaced perfectly flat etc,,. I hear the Oems only leak because oil change guys over tighten the filter cap..
My ‘12 Charger 3.6 is at 116,000 miles and I noticed that its been getting up to about 230° on the temp gauge in the EVIC recently... Coolant has never been changed... can that be an issue?
love the video showed me step by step to replace my cooler assembly, turned my charger on for 10 min gave it a little gas and turned off now it wont start please help what could it be?
My 2014 jeep grand started leaking oil. At first I thought it was the RMS but the stealership pointed out it was this exact problem. I had 15k left on my power train warranty but the stealership says that they are not going to honor it because I have a supercharger installed. Like the supercharger has anything to do with the oil cooler... Makes me so mad. I like to work on engines so I'm going to do the work myself; I will be better informed going in to the job thanks to your detailed video!
Thanks for watching and for reaching out. Sucks that they didnt cover it. Follow the steps in the video and you will be good to go. Make sure to subscribe!
We are trying to replace this but have a busted bolt on the middle upper intake manifold. Any idea how to get in there? Drill is blocked by a heat shield at the top. Thanks!
The part with the o-ring won't slide all the way down into the opening. How do I get it to go down in the hole. Everything else fits normal but I can't tighten down the assembly because of that part of it. I have a 2013 charger SE.
Funny that you asked.....the last video I made covered that. Thanks for watching and for the question. Make sure to subscribe. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/h8mEWyw0IZE/v-deo.html
can a coolant leak happen with the oil coolant housing and will it travel to the oil pan and coolant? ,,, the reason I ask is because i think i have a blown head gasket but i see that this assembly is leaking oil and coolant
The cooler can fail and cause oil to get into the coolant. There is no such thing as a blown head gaskets anymore. Chrysler went to gaskets made of multiple layers of steel back in the late 90's and they dont blow. Now you can run it hot enough to warp a head....now thats a different issue lol. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.
Thanks for the video. Instructions and explanation were perfect. Just did this on a 3.2L in a Cherokee. Could the oil leak cause an injector to fail? I may have one and have to tear it apart again. Keep up the quality wok. Thanks again!
Ok so I went to a buddies shop of mine who owns a lift and I did the oil change and we got under and looked at the oil and their was a lot of oil built up where the main seal is as well as on top of the transmission area I told him it was most likely just my oil filter housing that was leaking the oil. My question is do these engines leak from the rear seal often or no
I havent seen a rear main seal leak yet.....the oil filter housing is the most common and it fills up the intake valley and then leaks out the rear over the top of the trans and then coats everything underneath as well. I feel good saying the leak is that. 'Thanks for the the question and for watching! Many thanks
Looks like my 2017 Caravan 3.6 has this problem, looks like a milkshake in the radiator and overflow bottle. Took it to the dealer, and they did say it was a bad cooler. Was hoping it would be warranty work, but unfortunately it's not (salvage title car). Know the cooler has to be replaced, but they also wanted to replace the radiator, overflow bottle, thermostat, hoses, etc. Said they were "contaminated". Will a proper flush after the cooler is replaced be sufficient or should all of these things be replaced too? Love your vids, very thorough and informative! Thanks.
I recommend repairing the the cause....replacing the cooler. Then flush the coolant multiple times. It might take 3-4 times until it clears up. I dont see any reason to replace anything else at this time. I understand them being overly cautious but I think you will be fine. Wish there was a good cleaner you could run thru it to help get that mess out....I just dont know whats out there other then doing the flushes as mentioned. Thanks for the kind words about the videos and make sure to subscribe if you havent already.
Question 1: Before the installation, you did not talk about depressurizing the fuel lines. How do you do that before starting this job? or can you just go do this job without it?
Also since I replaced the oil filter housing is my best bet when I change the oil to change the oil filter that was inside the housing to prevent further cross contamination
My coolant assembly was repaired got the coolant assembly from Amazon well it broke again more like a pour instead of leak. How much would this repair cost or is it better to by a another car
So is this why my oil pressure is high low high low my gauge won’t stop and my engine filter smokes has a bit of oil on the surrounding area of oil filter and overheats my engine alot
It wont removal all of it.....some may stay in the block in certain areas. Some engines have bolts you can remove from the sides of the block to remove all the antifreeze. It will however remove the majority of it.
I have a 2013 chrysler 300 2013 in KSA. This is third time since i bought the car that oil has come into the coolant and i have to change the oil cooler and flush. What could possibly the reason be. Looking forward to your expert advice. Tia
Yeah I noticed the back order issue. We had a customer that we helped out by installing the older 2011-2013 version on so that it could still be driven. Otherwise no telling how long until the right version came in. Eventually we will change it back out. We used an extra one I had that I robbed the bypass valve out of under warranty so it didnt cost anyone any parts for now. The 2014 are known for leaking for sure. The replacement part seems to address that issue. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe
Just replied to your message on the other video. Here is what I wrote: Head gaskets dont blow......not any more when it comes to engines with metal headgaskets. Heads will warp but the gasket will not blow....thats when you know the mechanic doesnt know what they are talking about. The cooler will be the most likely cause of the oil in the coolant. It will take a few times of flushing it to get it all out. Thanks for watching and glad you searched youtube instead of listening to the mechanics you found. Make sure to subscribe and check out my other videos as well.
I think the OEM replacement is the only one on the market and if its not then I still recommend going with the OEM Mopar replacement. I dont trust any aftermarket parts such as this. Call your local dealer and get the part number for your VIN and then compare their price to the ones online (wholesale parts dealers). You most likely will find it cheaper on line even with adding the shipping into the price.
replaced my engine cooler assembly on my 2014 dodge charger was running for 10 min gave a little gas and turned off now it wont start.my front panel has a light on like a lightning bolt its the throttle body control.could that be the problem? someone said my motor was locked. please advise
Basically it is other then the fact that the engine is turned sideways so the upper intake will be different. Once thats off everything else is the same. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.
Hey David quick question I just did this repair thanks to your video. I’m not a mechanic by any means but my question is when I tried to drain my radiator no coolant came out so I did the idiot move and assumed their wasn’t coolant in my system and removed the oil cooler assembly and coolant spewed everywhere on top of the oil. I used a fluid extractor to remove it all but my question is why didn’t it drain from my radiator
I always recommend draining the oil when that happens so that any coolant that mixed with the oil will be drained and replaced. As far as the drain....it might not be fully open or the outlet might be clogged. You can try blowing compressed air thru the outlet to see if it starts flowing then or possibly insert a small wire to see if you can physically clear out any thing that might be blocking it. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe
I would recommend it. Filter housing comes with a new filter so it would be perfect timing for oil change plus some coolant may have gotten in the oil when removing the old housing
Hello, could this be the cause of the burning smell I get when I drive aggressively? when ever I floor it I get a burning smell soon after. 2012 charger with v6 3.6l
If it leaks enough then yes. I would look down into the area around the oil filter housing and see if oil can be seen. If so then the assembly needs to be replaced.
Update;; Hey Michael, Did you ever get that problem solved? Try rubbing a small wooden dowel down beside the oil cooler. Does it come out with oil on it? I think I finally pinpointed my issue. Got a left rocker arm cover just 'seeping' oil past it. Use a good flashlight and you can see it and feel it with your finger. It is at the back corner near the cabin filter,,, Possibly??
I have a question i have a 2013 dodge challenger v6 and i replaced my oil cooler twice and the other one only lasted 2 months i wanna ask you if this problem is in all dodge cars because i heard that this problem is from the factory and all v6 has the same issue
We see different causes for replacement....on that year model it could be leaking or the bypass valve tower comes loose. 2014 was the most common for leaking.....it was redesigned in 2014 and thats when it really started leaking. For the most part not many issues from 2015 and up. They have revised the part multiple times and you might have had an older version that was installed the first time. Personally I havent replaced one twice as of yet. Its not car specific.....its more year specific. its the same cooler installed in all the vehicles with that engine for that year. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe
MotorCity Mechanic im facing a big issue with replacing this oil cooling part i replaced it once and it only laster for two months idk what is the problem exactly put just to let you know i live in saudi arabia and the weather here is crazy hot so dose that means the problems are coming from the weather ? If not can you please give me an idea on what to do because i really got tired from replacing it
My mechanic told me that I need to think about changing mines on my 2013 Chrysler 300. He showed me a small spring and some small black part and said that the housing looks like it’s going bad . He quoted 960 dollars to fix it Is this reasonable?
Great video. Had a problem with my 2012 dodge charget after i replaced housing. Car doesnt start . Dash says transmission in D please service transmission. Buddy canme over with scanner. Computer said it has no communication with transmission. Help im lost n gonna come down taking it to dealer.
I had my coolant replaced a month ago....im wondering when i drain my coolant for this repair can i jus put it back in or do i need to get new fluid ???
Hi, I have a question minor oil wet above and around the a/c compressor on my 2012 dodge grand caravan . It's not serious but but just kind a bother me. And maybe you can give me an idea where that oil leaking from . Thanms
Would that leak from the cooler assembly makes the transmission lock up. Oil was pouring out the car and when the tow truck came to tow it it wouldn't stay in gear 😒😑HELP

I just did mine this past weekend. I drained mine. Just bought some brand new fresh anti freeze to put back in. I doesn't have any car mechanic experience. But I knocked it out and no more leaks after 2 days.
I SUPER appreciate the video, but I have a couple of questions:
Thanks!
Your welcome and Merry Christmas to you as well. Take your time and you should do okay. Let me know how it turns out!
Sounds like a leaking oil cooler assembly for sure. Thats typically where you see the oil when it does. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.
This is an excellent video! Thank you very much for spending the time and effort to do this right. You saved us some money too.
The sensors that goes into housing do you know off hand the torque specs for them
Great video. My cooler isn't leaking, but I must replace the oil pressure sensor, code 6dd. I was looking and seemed to think I could get to the sensor from the back. First, remove some things in the way. Cowling, etc. This will result in less cussing, removing the complete upper, or going around the back of the motor?
For that code you will most likely be replacing the oil pump assembly.
Ok. Got it. The pump itself is mechanical except for the Solenoid. I realize that once you have the pump out, replace the entire unit. But most likely, it's the Solenoid causing the problem. Would it be cost-effective only to replace the Solenoid? Thx @@MotorCityMechanic
@@BG-xh5rb personally I don’t want to do it twice…..I would replace the pump assembly with a Mopar to be 100% sure
Thanks for everything. On another question, regarding the 2012 Charger, will I have to remove the upper oil pan and the timing cover to access the oil pump? Thx @@MotorCityMechanic
I change the oil cooler oil filter adapter like you do just i have a cuestion i need to chage oil engine ?
choche videos There is no need in changing it unless your close to the oil change interval/mileage.
I have a 2012 Dodge Charger 3.6 I have oil in my coolant and it is really thick like peanut butter.. when I change the oil cooler do I need to try and flush the system first or do it after I replace it
Replace first otherwise we will keep getting oil into the fresh coolant. It may take flushing it a few times to finally get it all out.
Happy NewYear!!! So i still have the sludge in my coolant system after numerous flushes. What did u use?? 2011 Charger currently overheating.
Great video! Unfortunately I didn’t make it past step 1. I turned the drain 1/4 CCW and no antifreeze comes out. Is there a trick? I’d rather not have to pull the lower radiator hose. 2016 Chrysler 300 plastic stopcock.
Had to turn it 1/2 turn.
Thanks, your da man. My 3.6 feels better already.
Awesome! Glad I could help.
Great instructional video David, I've been waiting for this one...
Your welcome. Thanks for holding on and waiting.
MotorCity Mechanic 4months i waited sir amazing i won here but scotty boy let me down no disrespect to him 👍
love the video showed me step by step to replace my cooler assembly, turned my charger on for 10 min gave it a little gas and turned off now it wont start please help what could it be?
Do you know from where can I get that rubber bushing one you show at @5:01
My 2014 jeep grand started leaking oil.
Thanks!
Great vids, i got a ?
Whenndoing the iol cooler, should i do the knock sensors or not. Thnkz for ur help.
Lopez.
The part with the o-ring won't slide all the way down into the opening. How do I get it to go down in the hole. Everything else fits normal but I can't tighten down the assembly because of that part of it. I have a 2013 charger SE.
What's the difference between the oil filter housing unit for 2011 - 2013 and the one for 2014.
Funny that you asked.....the last video I made covered that. Thanks for watching and for the question. Make sure to subscribe. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/h8mEWyw0IZE/v-deo.html
After installing cooler do I need to flush radiator or just add new fluid
Perfect video with great step by step
Thanks Brendan! I appreciate the feedback and for you finding the channel. Dont forget to subscribe and check out my other videos when you get time.
can a coolant leak happen with the oil coolant housing and will it travel to the oil pan and coolant? ,,, the reason I ask is because i think i have a blown head gasket but i see that this assembly is leaking oil and coolant
Great video...I think mine is leaking coolant so I'm going to change this weekend
Take your time and all should go well. Thanks for commenting and make sure to subscribe.
Is this part known to leak coolant
Please show us how to replacement of fuel injectors vvt 3.6 l
I will certainly keep it in mind. Thanks for the request.
Many thanks
I forgot you changed it.....now you just need to clean everything off and you should be good to go.
As mentioned in the other comment. Go back and watch part 2. We don’t take the fuel line off
What happens if you don't drain the coolant? And can it be reused?
Thanks for the video just replace mine yesterday in my 14 charger
Also since I replaced the oil filter housing is my best bet when I change the oil to change the oil filter that was inside the housing to prevent further cross contamination
My coolant assembly was repaired got the coolant assembly from Amazon well it broke again more like a pour instead of leak. How much would this repair cost or is it better to by a another car
So is this why my oil pressure is high low high low my gauge won’t stop and my engine filter smokes has a bit of oil on the surrounding area of oil filter and overheats my engine alot
Will opening the drain plug removed coolant completely inside engine and coolant reservoir as well as radiator?
It wont removal all of it.....some may stay in the block in certain areas. Some engines have bolts you can remove from the sides of the block to remove all the antifreeze. It will however remove the majority of it.
I recently started this job & didn’t drain the coolant before disassembling the oil cooler is it to late to drain now?
How can I check if mine’s is ok? Ima change out the spark plugs so thinking about changing it also (I have 87kmiles)
I have a 2013 chrysler 300 2013 in KSA. This is third time since i bought the car that oil has come into the coolant and i have to change the oil cooler and flush. What could possibly the reason be. Looking forward to your expert advice. Tia
Any tips on freeing up the red tab from fuel injector? Also what do you do if it breaks off while lifting?
Do you disconnect battery to do this?
The same problem for Dodge Grand Caravan 2014. Thanks
two weeks in dealer , oil cooler back order.
Hey i have a 2012 dodge charger sxt 3.6 v6 and i have oil in my coolant resevoir could the engine oil assembly be the issue?
Just replied to your message on the other video. Here is what I wrote: Head gaskets dont blow......not any more when it comes to engines with metal headgaskets. Heads will warp but the gasket will not blow....thats when you know the mechanic doesnt know what they are talking about. The cooler will be the most likely cause of the oil in the coolant. It will take a few times of flushing it to get it all out. Thanks for watching and glad you searched youtube instead of listening to the mechanics you found. Make sure to subscribe and check out my other videos as well.
MotorCity Mechanic thanks bro highly appreciated now im going to get to work✌👍
Your welcome!
@@MotorCityMechanicYour Amazingly talented. Having same problem now. Same car 1year younger. Searching for part now.
Is this also the same procedure for the 2012 avenger??
Basically it is other then the fact that the engine is turned sideways so the upper intake will be different. Once thats off everything else is the same. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.
Can you send the Chrysler 200 video, I came across it 2 years ago I just can’t find now
Hey David quick question I just did this repair thanks to your video.
Should u change the oil and coolant after replacing both
I would recommend it. Filter housing comes with a new filter so it would be perfect timing for oil change plus some coolant may have gotten in the oil when removing the old housing
Can you do this without changing the oil
Hello, could this be the cause of the burning smell I get when I drive aggressively? when ever I floor it I get a burning smell soon after. 2012 charger with v6 3.6l
If it leaks enough then yes. I would look down into the area around the oil filter housing and see if oil can be seen. If so then the assembly needs to be replaced.
MotorCity Mechanic thanks! Will do! Also another question, do you know of any videos out there of people changing the motor mounts on the 3.6?
Your welcome. I dont have any of those videos and havent searched for them either on other channels. I would hope someone has by now.
Thanks Michael, I've got the 2015 same engine, and I also get that burnt oil smell when I'm really on the gas!
If not can you please give me an idea on what to do because i really got tired from replacing it
Is this a similar procedure for the 2014 grand Cherokee?
Very close for sure. If you follow the steps in the video it should all go well l. Subscribe and check out some more of my videos
My mechanic told me that I need to think about changing mines on my 2013 Chrysler 300. He showed me a small spring and some small black part and said that the housing looks like it’s going bad . He quoted 960 dollars to fix it
Is this reasonable?
Great video. Had a problem with my 2012 dodge charget after i replaced housing. Car doesnt start . Dash says transmission in D please service transmission. Buddy canme over with scanner. Computer said it has no communication with transmission. Help im lost n gonna come down taking it to dealer.
Did your ever find out what the problem was?
I had my coolant replaced a month ago....im wondering when i drain my coolant for this repair can i jus put it back in or do i need to get new fluid ???
You sure can. Just make sure to use a clean container and you shouldnt have any issues. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe
Can the oil cooler cause a coolant leak instead of oil inside that cavity?
WHERE THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR LOCATION ON 2015 RAM 1500 3.6 PENTASTAR?
Hi, I have a question minor oil wet above and around the a/c compressor on my 2012 dodge grand caravan . It's not serious but but just kind a bother me. And maybe you can give me an idea where that oil leaking from .
Thanms
I replaced my coolant not too long ago do i have to drain all 11 liters or would 3 or 4 liters be ok to get the level down enough?
Would that leak from the cooler assembly makes the transmission lock up. Oil was pouring out the car and when the tow truck came to tow it it wouldn't stay in gear 😒😑HELP
Do you drain the oil first just had an oil change
I have a 2011 charger 3.6 but instead of oil I have antifreeze in that valley could the housing leak antifreeze?
I have that same problem!!!!! What did you do to solve the problem
Larry Jackson...I replaced the oil cooler unit the o-rings were cracked...
What is the best / latest version of the mopar oil cooler? 68310865AF? 68105583AF? 68105583AG?
Hey boss. I need help with coolant temp sensor.. 2013 dodge durango... Its on driver side cylinder head.. How the heck do i get to it?
Mine only leaks when it’s warm outside for some reason, all winter I didn’t see any leaks but it hit 75 today and I seen droplets
Had this issue for 2 years now and was told rear main but if it’s the rear main it would constantly leak correct?
