  • Median nerve glides, median nerve flossing, and median nerve stretches should be done very carefully. Don't overdo the glide or flossing movements because that can cause more irritation. More nerve glides and nerve flossing: • Neural Glides for Ulna...
    Median nerve gliding or nerve flossing is when you are moving the median nerve at each end together. This helps break up scar tissue or adhesions that might be causing pain. It can also help if you have a nerve compressed somewhere. Make sure not to force any of the movements, and try to use proper technique.
    The last movement is more of a stretch on the median nerve since you are pulling away at both sides. So if you feel any pain, you might not be ready for it yet.

    I could cry right now! 14 years ago I had elbow surgery due to a disease that caused my joint to crumble. When they were cleaning out the debris they nicked my medial nerve. In the process it left over 1/2 my dominant hand numb. I still struggle with loss of function, numbness, and muscle loss in all three fingers. There are spots that are no longer numb but about 1/4 of it is still numb. I did these exercises and my hand felt amazing afterwards!! So glad I looked this up finally, hoping it helps stimulate my nerve and help the healing process along. Thank you!!

    I'm back rewatching this again several months after I thought my nerve problems had resolved. This helps me figure out which nerve is acting up and gives a slight release. Thank you so much Dr. Jo~

    The amount of relief I feel after 3 days of doing these specific nerve exercises is incredible! I am currently getting Physical Therapy for a pinched nerve and my PT just added median nerve glides to my list of exercises last week. I found your video to make sure I was performing it correctly and gradually tried each of these nerve exercises as shown. I feel so much better in the past few days and actually getting complete sensation in my index finger which has been numb and tingly for about a month.     I just can't BELIEVE how much these exercises are helping me. I've got carpel tunnel syndrome, and needed to sleep with a hand brace at night.. Since I've been doing these exercises, -- no more brace, and I've gotten very little numbness, if any, during the day. Thanks Doctor Jo!!!

    Wow! My physio had given me a different video to follow for median nerve glides, and this one popped up in my recommended. I am finding these ones much more effective! My wrist is becoming much more mobile and less painful after only two days!

    This is so so wonderful. I can''t even tell you. Anti-inflammatories and even a cortison shot did nothing. This I feel immediately release that median nerve pain

    This video is honestly a life saver! I just went back to work and idk what I did, but my arm just started killing me. I couldn't even sleep because it got worse when I laid down and kept me up all night. I have a 3 month old and didn't feel comfortable trying to pick her up because I couldn't feel my fingertips through the tingling feeling. Just did these and for the first time in DAYS I'm feeling relief! Thank you so much!

    I feel so much better after doing these. I have carpal tunnel in both wrists and it’s making me so tense in my shoulders and arms, like waking up at night moaning in pain if I can sleep at all. I think my splints make me sleep in weird uncomfortable positions which is also making me sore. I also have your carpal tunnel stretch videos saved.

    Thank you so much Dr Jo!!! I have been battling with electric-feeling (nerve?) pain in my palm and wrist that I suspected was carpal tunnel and this does genuinely give me relief for a while. I'm seeing a doctor soon but this will keep me from pulling my hair out with discomfort or the inability to do daily tasks. Now i can do things like use a a computer mouse for short periods! I couldn't before with extreme pain. Thank you thank you thank you!!!! Bless you!

    I am waiting to see a nerve specialist after somehow and suddenly damaging brachial plexus, it’s such a worry for me, as I have a weak wrist on my other arm from a fracture years ago already and I use my hands so much for work, yoga and drumming, but I feel these exercises have really helped.     Wow I actually felt alot good. I woke up with swelling on my wrist, wasn't even able to hold a glass of water. Gave hot compress on it. Watched a alot of videos but this video has helped me alot. Thank you thank you so much . I am at ease.

    Excellent. The index finger proximal was getting nerve pain... no numbness at all. I have had sports injuries like detached bicep and 2 shoulder capsule surgeries over the years and they are the cause for sure. This exercise removed the finger pain sensation. TY

    Hello Dr. Jo, thank you for this video as well as your videos for other nerve flossing. Do you by chance have a video on how to properly stretch scalene muscles? Mine get tight every day at some point during my work in an office and it causes me great pain and discomfort to my brachial plexus and nerves.

    Awesome did just the 4 glides/stretches 5 times each and the pain in my upper arm went away. I was not over bearing on the glides/stretches just did it till I felt a little tension and proceeded with the maneuvers. Thanks
