Losing track of how many times i continue to watch these episodes. Well compiled. Keep up the great work of inspiring others (like myself) to do the same. Cheers - Des (Tennant Creek, Northern Territory)
By far and away the best adventure motorcycle channel on youtube! My Dad, brother and myself are riding a section of the Trans American Trail in a week (CO, UT, NV and back home to OR). I hope to document it the best that I can with tips and ideas I've gotten from watching your videos. Cheers! Ian
Damn, a broken back! One reason I don't like taking pain killers (unless absolutely necessary), they could be masking a serious problem. Going to watch part 3 now =)
amazing.. incredible production for an amateur video, i look forward for the next episode, really, im worried for alex.. what a mad man.. greetings from argentina!!
Great video and oh my how is he doing has he had surgery yet on his back I pray that he is ok and going to be ok and able to keep doing what he lobes and adventure
Ok since I watch you on youtube and I know you ride an adventure and I was just extremely surprised to find out that you watched every single "Simpson Desert Crossing" out there but damn I heard that you and ridingwithtom might be doing that in june.
ThatDayZSurvivalist yes, we are. Tom just follows me around like a bad smell! lol, just joking. He like to be challenged and this trip sounded like a good challenge to him.
Ok seems like you guys are really gonna like crossing the simpson since I am in the states and don't yet have a bike I will be looking forward to seeing you guys do that and hopefully I will do that with some of my friends when I get a bike.
450 more dirt oriented, lighter 690 gives you all round trip from desert to home over 1700 ks away. Couldn't think of anything worse than doing those open miles on a 450, plus it would probably die as it has a small oil capacity and it's not designed for lengthy road use.
nicougrikify Pelletier . Simpson crossing is possible with most suitable enduro bikes. Would really change your loads such as fuel, etc stock I would keep to a 640 etc ,well set up smaller Ktm with a few mods, oil cooler etc and fuel upgrades , little luggage. You'd need to carry enough water to do it safely. I reckon they'd be a few that have done it on postie bikes so anything could be done. See ya out there, I'm doing it 2018 just preparing now. Good series guys, always a treat.

And here I thought I was too old to get back into biking after a 20-year break. :) Nice one, guys!

Great great great give us more ;-)
At 8.44 is the famous Nipple Mountain.
Tough guys for sure. I never ride with a backpack, or a cell phone in a chest pocket... ribs and back are just too important.
Can I cross the Simpson unassisted with a KTM 450 EXC
+nicougrikify yep, if you know what you are doing, can ride sand, calculate fuel loads and water.
Thanks,
Could you tell me what are the advantages/disadvantages of using the 690 vs a 450 for this crossing?

"Alice springs is over 4000km from where we live in Sydney." It's actually 2,773km not sure where you pulled 4000 from there mate!
The route we took Mick. What's your route, air, sea, camel? At the end of the day it's a bloody long way.
The music should be lower... ;)
