Although you usually don't teach seniors to do a Farmer's Walk with dumbbells, I have a question that I was hoping you'd answer for me. Would it be better to carry lighter dumbbells & do more circuits when you first start or a bit heavier dumbbells and do less rounds? Thanks for helping - - - I appreciate all you do for us seniors to stay active in our "golden" years!
@@hb4299 it really depends on your ultimate goal. In general the bigger the weight, the bigger the muscles grow. The lighter weights help to perfect your form, but you have to more repetitions to fatigue the muscle. Are you looking to get bigger and stronger, or are you more so trying to get smaller and more tone?
@@WilliamYatesWellness I'm a senior woman in my late 70's and just trying to maintain my muscle strength as I get older. I lift dumbbells three times a week and have heard that the Farmer's Walk is also helpful. I don't care if my muscles really get any bigger as long as I can still lift/carry as the years pass.
