Hey Brian, amazing content as always. I wonder if you can help me with a weird issue I'm getting: I replaced the stock i3 4130 with an i5 4590 on a Lenovo E 73 desktop and although the chipset/mobo supports the CPU, I get no video output. I've tried updating the BIOS from lenovo's website which didn't help. The old CPU works fine if I put it in now but any more than 2 core CPUs will give any output (tried 4590S and 4690 that I have lying around, Pentiums and i3s work fine) . Pointers very much appreciated. Keep on hustlin' mate!
Have you ever done a dedicated Windows XP build or 98 build with glide wrappers. I've been building a few. Amazing how many FPS you can pull with a 10 dollar GPU !. I really enjoyed playing Unreal the other night at 100 fps+ 1080p on a 20 dollar machine, very low wattage machine too. PCIE slow powered only.
Gonna give your tought on what awesome build you are going to do with that MSI 1080 TI ?👀 Although I switched to Asus from an MSI GTX 980 to a ASUS RTX 3060 Ti TUF Gaming I could grab, that awesome MSI design makes me nostalgic.😍 I sold the MSI GTX 980for 150 Euro's to put towards the buy. I used a Gigabyte GT 730 2 GB DDR5 in overclock to fill in the gap for a while. It looked a bit silly sitting in my rig being so tiny. It could play some titles I liked though.
im so glad u are sticking with price/performance and not rgb rtx 3080 builds those get stale imo, but nothing beats squeezing every single drop out of an old intel cpu. i have to commend you for sticking by the little guy and helping those people who cant afford the expensive bling. keep being yourself dude much love!

@Jip Jackson As has already been said, It's about price. In this market everything else is priced to oblivion, and the fact is games *can* be played on the GT 1030, people also game on AMD APU's that are the same performance as the 1030. Not everyone plays games with large amounts of bling, in fact many of the most played games can be ran on a potato, think Sims, Minecraft, CSGO, Rocket League, WoW, Fortnite, Valorant, GTAV..

The Dell 3770 Motherboard also has a different Pin Out for the CPU Fan, you have to switch around 2 of the wires to add an Aftermarket Cooler like I did because I didn't like the Stock Cooler on a 3770.
I always keep a gt 730 , gt 660 & low profile OEM business computer AMD GPU for testing. I love seeing the older Intel boards and parts that show up on your channel.
I recently scored a Gigabyte X58 Extreme mobo with Xeon X5687 and an Asus GTX780 and 6x2 gigs of RAM. Came in a Cooler Master Storm Sniper Mesh, got a 21" monitor as well. Paid 70€. Sold the monitor for 50 bucks, traded in the case and power supply for another 50.
I bought an Intel i7-3770 on ebay for 100 USD for my old 2012 Lenovo Edge 72, which crawled along with a i3-3220 or something like that, and a GT450. I bought a new GTX 1650 for it, which is more valuable than the rest of the system. I also need a 550 W PSU, because I took the 750 W PSU out of it and installed it on another build. I will be donating the Lenovo to my nephew. It's fun reviving old systems.
I've been watching your channel for a few years now and have a habit of buying bargains when I see them. Unfortunately I'm not so good at moving them on so i've become like a cat lady but with PC parts. It's a real problem :)
That Dell case should work well, You can get a 4 pack of 2 pin power switches and just change the power button, that's what I did on mine, the same case now has an i3-10100, 16gb of ram, and GTX 1650 super, if you get a SFX power supply it should slot right in and any MATX motherboard should fit. I also used a Dremel and cut a hole in the front behind the front bezel and added a 120mm intake fan.
Thank you for putting USD btw! AU is a more difficult conversion to Euros than USD, so thank you for taking the effort in converting, editing and putting it all in, I'm sure you would save a lot of time if you didn't have to do it. Also, those are actually some decent deals, obviously not the same as 8-10 months ago, BUT, none the less that's still pretty good.

I have kept my Gskill DDR3 because my older rig sometimes works with other memory and sometimes does not. Thanks for the reminder. When I took the board and put it in another case my old rig failed to boot, but I had forgotten that the Gskill has worked every time and I had other memory on my MSI board that once did not. For years I had other DDR3 that seemed to work fine - which is why I forgot it was not as good.
The Prodesk is easy to get around post problems. I have made mine work in a new case and dont have to push F1. Usb3 header i connected pin 10 and 7 with a wire Pin 10 is the one on the row with 10 pins and in the oposite end from the one missing pin. On usb2 i connected pin 8 and 10. Usb2 you can connect pin 10 to either 8 or 7 and they are the once next to the one pin alone on the end and thats pin 10. So now i can use what i want and dont have to have the problem with F1 during Boot. HP and many others use sensing on the headers to see if they are connected. Easy fix..
