I saw these guys at MWAVE over the weekend. Super nice guys and the mini is truly "mini". It's a lot smaller than my Zidoo z9x. The interface is fast and looks great.
Raphael is an amazing guy who is very helpful. The K*scape hardware is 5+ years old without an update, it is aging. You can use this to play your movies AND your own private video.
If I understand correctly, they are offering a NAS and Zidoo-like media player under one brand? This reminds of the Zappiti NAS and boxes sans the onboard ripper.
@@hatoraidcowboy I hope you can do a review of their new NAS storage and ripper soon? I know it is a big investment but I think this is less expensive and a better solution than being married to an expensive streaming company or Kalidescape and would love your future review to give your pinons about that.
@@hatoraidcowboy The NAS is what I am most interested in and I guess if that looks good then I would mate that with their 8K player? I do not need multiple rooms just one room so your opinion on ideal setup with their NAS. I think a lot of people want a simple to use NAS that you do not need to be a computer nerd to operate as a better alternative than Kalidescape; right now all of the NAS options seem to techie which is why this NAS seems cool.
and if I can copy my audio CD's that is a huge plus to make it simple to transfer those "flac" digital formats to my digital audio player that would be great! If you can show how to do that in your future review of their NAS that would be awesome!
This whole “Demo” thing… Can that be done on the reference Zapitti Player?? It’s got to only be software. Meaning it could be done on the other existing players that have R_Volution. Thanks
The way it was explained to me at the booth is that it differs from the European version and what was sold here before under the previous name by the fact that it does not include an optical drive and Make MKV for ripping content to avoid the issues with copyright drama.
@@mikestephens2397 I don't see how taking out the optical drive & ripping software makes that big of a difference from the copyright drama cause it's not stopping people from doing it themselves with their pc & a usb drive to copy the files to the nas.
@@twiltse1 I agree. He didn’t elaborate on it but my guess would be it takes them out of the legal crosshairs or at least spotlight. The studios have the money and I don’t to fight the entire ownership and use rights of a product that I paid for and should be able to store in any way I see fit as long as I’m not providing it to others.

Even though I'm technically savvy but that's why i got a used zappiti nas because it came with the optical drive & software built in cause I just wanted a one & done option. I will say this they need to figure out what's going against the copyright laws to be able to sell the nas with the optical drive and software for people that aren't tech savvy but want to create a digital media library of the movies that they purchased.

same nas they were selling before. Based on windows home server which has been shelved by Microsoft for nearly a decade now! No thanks
