Fun fact it actually is alluded to in D2 how Jindosh got expelled. In low chaos mode, the shrine where the outsider tells you WHEN Jindosh got expelled. In high chaos he tells you how. It had to do something with a mechanical toy gifted to a noble man's daughter much like a smaller clockwork soldier that when turned on traumatized her to the point where she was left at addermire for the rest of her life.
Actually, that’s not the reason, there is no obvious reason, what you’ve said is simply an incident from his life ( which I personally think has happened after he became the grand inventor and he made her a toy out of cat bones), because in low chaos he created some sort of a machine that turns sea water into something useful that I don’t really remember. The outsider never said when he got expelled. The truth is he probably got expelled because of making experiments on his peers. Point the heart at jindosh and listen Almost arrested before the Duke found him. Carted off to some dank hole behind iron bars for revolting crimes against his fellows [at the Academy]. His experiments. Instead, the Duke gave him a title. He's thinking the test subjects are all broken beyond repair. That it's time to obtain a fresh batch. The new Duke will let him have all the test subjects he wants. An endless supply. He waits for the breathing and blood to stop. Then the brain, and the light from their eyes. He loves that moment, when the eyes change. Finds it fascinating. That’s some of what it says. It says more. He probably got expelled for cutting his peers alive because it makes more sense to what he says about cutting the protagonist in his lab and it gives much more depth into his character.
I think Delilah might have been lying or misinformed. It's clear there isn't much of a concept of illegitimacy in the Empire, as Emily is just accepted as heir to the throne despite her mother never being married to Corvo.
It is true Delilah played with Emily as in the daud dlc you can talk to Emily’s dressmaker some weird pedo who talks about Delilah and Emily hanging out unprovoked so that’s pretty much as proof as it gets. To be fair though Delilah did visit him earlier but just stole some shit, wrapped him up like Spider-Man, and wrote some incantations on the wall most likely to add power to her painting as that’s where she took 2 of the needed parts of the painting.
Also in Dishonored 2 she declares herself as who she is, and claims the throne and deserves it moreso then Emily. If she wasn’t a witch she would genuinely be the rightful heir unless the people didn’t like the decision but idk if there’s outside political powers that would overright them just being like oh nah do that we’ll kill you we like our empress. It was just because he was cheating and he wanted to hide that more then anything. So just nobody believed she was actually the true heir, and Emily lied and said she broke something which uh idk I think Delilah broke it tbh but they had more of a debate over who did it and Emily was like fuck that and just when they both pointed at eachother as children too one happened to be a empress, so Delilah disappeared to a prison and for all of royalty and the public, never seen again
this is just my opinion, but i think there are better explanations than delilah being misinformed or lying. emily's unquestioned heirship, despite the fact that jessamine and corvo weren't married, could simply be due to the fact that there is no legitimate alternative, as she is jessamine's only child. and, since the "emily dies" ending has the empire descend into chaos with no ruler, there's clearly nobody with a clear enough claim to the throne to claim it other than emily. there's also a significant difference between emily & delilah which could explain why emily is accepted as the heir but delilah wouldn't be accepted as heir over jessamine. emily's mother is the empress, whereas in delilah's case her father was the emperor. the fact that jessamine is delilah's mother is provably true, as she gave birth to her. delilah's father's identity, on the other hand, cannot be proven with the technology available in dishonored. in fact, one of the newspaper you can find in-game (called Empress Delilah's Secret) makes this point exactly, pointing out there is no proof that delilah is the emperor's daughter. the same point can't really be made against emily, which probably helps her in being accepted as heir; she's indisputably the empress's child. even if delilah's father tried to have her inherit, the argument that her paternity could not be proven could always be used to dispute her claim. also, emily's role as heir might not be questioned simply because nobody would benefit from it. while jessamine is alive, she's very popular, so people are unlikely to question her heir. after her death, there's much more benefit to be had in being able to influence emily as child empress than in denying her being a rightful heir. even if a concept of legitimacy exists, there's no reason for anyone to question whether emily should be heir, as there's no better candidate.
My headcanon is that a lot of people challenged Emily's succession after the conspiracy collapsed, but after a few dozen mysteriously died whenever Corvo was out of town, they started to get the message
Jindosh was actually expelled because he experimented on his fellow students, but when the Duke found him, he saw a genius in him and promised as many test subjects as Jindosh wanted Also, Dreadful Wale is an anagram for Farewell Daud :)
@@henry7001 It’s heavily implied by quotes from the heart, such as “Almost arrested before the Duke found him. Carted off to some dank hole behind iron bars for revolting crimes against his fellows. I'm really glad you point out how the outsider feels truly threatened and now has something to lose in this story. In the first game, he was aloof and dispassionate, giving tools to those he deemed worthy of them to see what they would do, never excited to see their success or failure. In the second, a lot of people complain that he's become more invested, and betrays his character, however I think this just shows how much of a threat Delilah really is. Her success has not only made a god take notice, but alsofear that success.
Re watching this great video, and just wanted to point out that Granny Rags does in fact have the Outsiders mark on her hand. This is seen in Dishonored 2 upon killing and looting Paolo; Granny Rags severed hand attacks the player, and the mark is clearly seen on it. Non the less I thoroughly enjoy your recap of Dishonored's lore :)
I just have to say I love having multiple protagonists in this game. I love playing as Corvo, a man who once had to become something else to save his daughter now is thrust back into it-but will he take the mark that made him unrecognizable to himself or this time will he refuse it? And Emily, the daughter of the Royal Protector, trained and prepared for the throne from a young age now has to fight to get it back, but is she capable of doing it alone? Or will she succumb to the power of revenge like her father did all those years ago? I just love the rp possibilities!!!

I felt bad for Delilah but for her to blame a then child Jessamine for everything that happened to her and then orchestrate a coup on her own niece is just so wrong. Emily was willing to let her stay in the Imperial Palace. I do like the non-lethal ending for her tho
I'm a bit confused as to why there's so much doubt about Delilah being Jessamine's sister. It's perfectly plausible and entirely likely. The heart - while it's still a vessel for Jessamine, not Delilah - speaks of her and even confirms some of the events. Her being (or not) the Empress' older sister doesn't make Delilah's actions in anyway excusable or more serious. Both were children and Jessamine certainly had no idea that her lie would condemn two other people to such a sad fate. Fans saying Delilah was lying just sounds like them wanting to diminish her birthright and her position as a true contender for the throne, when in reality we should all be against her for taking vengeance against an entire nation and everyone living in it, just because she wants to be worshiped. She's a nutjob, and her parentage is pretty much irrelevant. I don't see anyone concerned with replacing the Duke with a commoner, even if he has no claim to it, so why is Delilah being the daughter of the former emperor such a problem? She simply shouldn't rule because she's insane and destructive, not because she has no claim to the throne.

Thanks for this excellent lore video. I started it a few days ago, and was inspired to finally play through the Dishonored DLC so I could watch the rest without being spoiled. It was worth the wait.
One of my favorite game series of all time. My best friend and I platinum’d both games (dlc included) on ps4. D2 is probably my favorite, but JUST barely. I love these games because replaying them never gets old. Plat’ing bother took a few weeks and we played each game at least 3-4 to get certain achievements. We even solved Jindosh’s riddle without looking up the solution (took a while). So many great memories. Also the lore and world building is second to none. It’s so fun reading every note and gathering every little tid-bit of information. I really hope there’s another game in the series, or one which bridges Deathloop and Dishonored.
I know this comment is 7 months old but it was actually said by Arkane that the dishonered series hasant been discontinued and that it’s far from it so it’s 99% likely that there will be another game in the series don’t know when though ( and I don’t know if it was on a video or anything just heard that they said it
Thanks for checking it out! There's still 1 particular storyline that I've not done yet; maybe a shorter lore video dedicated to Daud/Billie. But not a series of them.
I was really wondering why Delilah was still alive in Dishonored 2. Never found the lore to why and that has been the reason for a couple playthroughs. Thank you for the enlightenment
Pretty sure Delilah made everything up. Her Mother worked in the Kitchen of the tower, yes, but her father was not the emperor. Maybe her Mother made it up. Maybe she herself. Not only is there little to no information that is not from her, she also makes a lot of mistakes. Jasmin, 3 years into death, is wondering it is her fault that Delilah is this way. Meanwhile, Delilah taunts you during the fight that she played hide-and-seek as a child in the room that wasn't even build 3 years ago.
im on board with delilah made some things up but she seems genuinely so angry and distraught that the emperor kept promising her that she'd see the court. and why would the emporer keep visiting her if he weren't her father
@@jolp9799 Did the emperor visit her even once? Did the two even meet? Did Delilah even know what he looked like? According to any source that is not Delilah herself?
What if the Emperor casted Delilah and her mother out of the tower so that no one can know about the affair maybe that's why the emperor didn't want her to be on court and Jessamine and Delilah were just close as sisters but Jessamine didn't know that they were half sisters neither does the Empreror's wife.🤔
Woah...a nearly hour-long video about one of my favorite game franchises? SUBSCRIBED! I fucking love lore videos...I literally replayed both Dishonored 1 and 2 several times non-lethal stealth and exploring everything just to dive deep into the lore.
i was tired of searching the story of knives of dunwall and brigmore witches and detailing of dishonored 2 events but thank god i found your channel now feeling satisfied after finishing the franchise and watching your videos
I know my comment might get lost. But if by some mysterious chance you se this. I just wanna say. U are doing an incredible job. And you really have one of my favorite narrative voices. Keep up the good job 👏🏻
holy shit, I had no idea you could save aramis. always felt terrible leaving him in his mansion without providing him any company or even saying goodbye, especially after delilah got her happy(?) ending. stilton manor is def my favorite area/sequence in the game, might go back n replay again just to save him
Thanks for another fantastic video! I always found it interesting that it's insinuated that Aramis and Theodanis were more than just fast friends. The way they correspond with one another goes a bit beyond friendship, I felt, and the way Luca hesitates before calling Aramis his father's "friend", really makes me read it that way. A lovely little detail that I like. :)
I may have issues but I just loved the dead sharks just laying in the bloody streets of Karnaca and how it contrasts with the natural beauty of the place.
19:39 Damn, that is one hell of an inventory wheel... I don't even remember all these powers and weapons. Perheps it's time that I return to my favourite game.
I haven't watched too much into this video, but I did notice something about the outsider's involvement at least to an extent he tends to come to people mistreated or abused by society but managed to make something of themselves. in Corvo's case he was a small boy who lived well enough and happy until his dad was killed, and he had to live by the streets fighting and doing who knows what else to get by. But after entering and winning the blade verbena and making a name for himself thus his life changed for the better, only to then be betrayed, watch the love of his life die in his arms no less and to add insult to literal injury his daughter is taken, and he is blamed for it all while he can do nothing but watch and stew. Then when a crossroad in his life appears again the outsider gifts him something not anything that garners him immediate growth but something that needs to be nourished to properly bloom and that gift is power. then from that point on all the outsider need do is watch, watch and see if like before in his life Corvo uses his pain to grow, build and move on or he can choose to wallow in it really become one with his darkness his trauma, and then lash out, lash out against everyone who turned a blind eye whether they meant to or not whether they had knowledge of it or not because after all, it doesn't matter what the lesser man thinks, in the end, the last man standing is the one with all the power the one who laughs last. (also I should have mentioned this earlier in my little tirade but the choice earlier in Corvo's life I kept bringing up was his choice to stay a street brawler and probably even use his skills to become a leader in the underworld or to participate in the blade verbena and possibly like his sister make a better life for himself) and this is just me gushing because I love Corvo's character so much, but wouldn't he look kinda good as the leader of some crime syndicate just imagine dressed all dapper to make deals with officers and high up official but in the same breath slit the throat of a rat threatening his business
I really miss these games, i have them but played the hell out of them especially the first one. These videos are the best for when i want to remember it the way i always have.
I actually like playing Emily in D2. Her powers require more set up, but when you pull the trigger you can do stuff Corvo wishes he could. The far reach power is actually better than blink because you can slingshot yourself when you get the right angle. I like corvo because he’s straight forward and efficient, but I like Emily a little more because her powers have huge payoff when used well. Domino in particular is just so much fun.
Abt Aramis Stilton: "He didn't fit in with the elites, and he knew it so he didn't even try" meanwhile him trying SUPER hard constantly to fit in with what he thinks nobles do lol
Of you don't like the second at least try the first which I personally prefer despite both being fantastic. The first has a better art style and overall pacing to me.
oh yea one last thing i just remembered during my playthrough of dishonored 2 which was pretty funny after i saved dr.hypatia and talked with her on the ship i was roaming around looking for stuff to pick up and throw when i found a bottle of chlorphorm or some other liquid and as was my want at the time i throw the bottle to watch it shatter on the ground but instead dr.hypatia had a "very important line" to repeat to me and got in the bottle path which struck her in the head and killed her immediately. at that point laughed thinking it was some kind of joke she went down that easy but when she didn't get back up i had to reload my save which at that point was 2 hours ago before i even went into the building hypatia was to cure her. fun times. last last note i also accidently killed anton after i picked him up by dropping him on the floor and hitting the attack button to pick up again
Lol during my play through, around (40:20) on my way in, I took out the guards that drag the real duke away, leading to a hilarious scene. I think the cutscene still plays out but with invisible guards.
Lmao i didnt know i could prevent aramis stilton from attending the seance thingy, all i did was sneak up behind him and grab the stuff we needed from him😅
Thank you for your amazing videos. Everyone praises the Dishonored series' amazing gameplay (rightfully so) but it also has created an atmospheric, fascinating, mysterious and yet strangely believable world that just sucks you in. I would love to see more content about Dishonored on your channel which is criminally underrated I might add. I’ll do my best to spread the word. :)
Thank you for checking it out and for such kind words! There may be 1 more return to the Dishonored universe to get some of the stories out that I haven't finished yet.
I love how, without even ever realizing it both Daud and Corvo were helping each other. Or rather, we’re solving two parts of the same problem. Corvo on his side was aiding in freeing Emily from the clutches of the now traitorous loyalists. Pendleton, Martin and Admiral Havelock who planned to use Emily as a puppet when she came of age likely manipulating her in her youth. Simultaneously, Daud was stopping Delilah, for now. Keeping her from taking over Emily’s young body. Two parties, who both wished to use Emily for their own gain. If either one had failed in their ventures Emily would’ve likely been pupated by others while also having her body not be her own (in the case with Delilah). A manipulated Emily who was Delilah in disguise would’ve likely spelled the end for the empire however, both Daud and Corvo ensured this wouldn’t happen. Again… likely without ever even realizing it.
I feel like Corvo was the better choice to fight someone like Delilah. Emily was trained, but most likely doesn’t have the years of combat experience or void mastery of Corvo.
@@1957DLT I agree, it’s thematically relevant. However, I felt Emily would feel more pressured into a corner in situations Corvo would stealth around or knock out enemies. Emily only learned her fighting skills for self-defense, I feel it makes sense if she’d be more liberal and unrestrained with her use of force.
Shit, the things I would do to have the mark of the Outsider! And I'd be sure to keep the Outsider entertained so that he'd keep hooking me up with more powers!
When I finished the game without killing foster and found out she goes back to working for daud i reloaded my save killed her and threw her overboard lol
I’m firmly in the camp that Delilah is not the sister of Jessamine which I believe most people are. However, I don’t think it’s her own delusions that she’s convinced herself of. I think it’s an elaborate lie and she knows it to get some sort of legitimacy to her coup. There was no mention of her blood relation to the Kaldwin family in the Daud DLC’s (I know this is because this story line had not yet been written) which only makes sense if it’s a lie she concocted after her initial possession plan failed. I don’t think she’s delusional, she knows she isn’t the daughter of Euhorn Kaldwin she just need everyone else to believe so
shes literally an affair baby or she would have 0 reason to pursue the crown lmao there doesnt have to be a mention in the dlc she explains her own story in the main game

I know this comment is 7 months old but it was actually said by Arkane that the dishonered series hasant been discontinued and that it’s far from it so it’s 99% likely that there will be another game in the series don’t know when though ( and I don’t know if it was on a video or anything just heard that they said it
one of the best Dishnored lore videos I´ve seen, thanks! Do you think you`ll make more Dishonored videos in the future?
@@Rhaeynar Na, my bet is that the Emperor never heard of Delilah before and is not related what-so-ever.
That witches story is fake start to finish
i’m seriously floored every time i watch one of these videos. how do you not have more subscribers????? these are so impressive
Woah...a nearly hour-long video about one of my favorite game franchises? SUBSCRIBED! I fucking love lore videos...I literally replayed both Dishonored 1 and 2 several times non-lethal stealth and exploring everything just to dive deep into the lore.
i was tired of searching the story of knives of dunwall and brigmore witches and detailing of dishonored 2 events
but thank god i found your channel now feeling satisfied after finishing the franchise and watching your videos
I know my comment might get lost. But if by some mysterious chance you se this. I just wanna say. U are doing an incredible job. And you really have one of my favorite narrative voices. Keep up the good job 👏🏻
holy shit, I had no idea you could save aramis. always felt terrible leaving him in his mansion without providing him any company or even saying goodbye, especially after delilah got her happy(?) ending. stilton manor is def my favorite area/sequence in the game, might go back n replay again just to save him
Do it
Thanks for another fantastic video!
Oh my, I didn't pick up on this. I'll have to go back and investigate! Nice catch.
Oh my gosh Luca knew.. XD
I NEVER knew you could save Aramis AND Billie's arm and eye holy shit that's amazing
This is the Dishonored content I've been craving!
3:32 lol I love how you talk about him here sounds like you really don't like him
In love with this channel and the outstanding quality content 👌
Never stop
idk what but the sight of the outsider's hand gestures and seeing his mouth moving but not being able to hear him speak gives me rap vibes
I did not know you could save Aramis Stilton! Now I want to play again so I can save his looney toons ass! 😂
I like your videos a lot. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
I may have issues but I just loved the dead sharks just laying in the bloody streets of Karnaca and how it contrasts with the natural beauty of the place.
19:39
Damn, that is one hell of an inventory wheel... I don't even remember all these powers and weapons.
Perheps it's time that I return to my favourite game.
Such a fine writer you are.
Thank you so much
Never seen such in depth video ... Wow I am amazed.. What a work
Thank you so much for the videos youve made on Dishonored. Brought a whole new view to them
25:15 Billie is actually looking for Corvo regardless of who you pick. Either she meets with Corvo as she wanted, or has to work with Emily.
I'm subbed, awesome channel and fantastic video!
She kind of sounds like emily, it's fitting for a dishonored lore video.
I know it is an echo of other sentiments but you truly have created an amazing summary.
Fantastic as always. I just finished my first playthrough today and I can't believe I couldn't save Artemis
Amazing!! Definitely the kind of chanel I need in UA-cam
I’m absolutely in love with this channel 💕
Great video and excellent delivery I'm definitely sharing this channel
Thank you!
I don’t trust Delilah but I think she was honest about being the older sister to Jessica Kaldwin. Hence the extreme entitlement to the throne
I love the lore, despite some odd bits. What I love almost more than that is the art and atmosphere of the games.
Ah yes here it is I was waiting and the wait paid off
Great video. Yeah, I normally play female characters, but Emily's powers are a really tough sell compared to Plague Sorcerer Corvo.
Blink is just so much better than far reach too, which sucks cause i like the look of far reach much more
I actually like playing Emily in D2.
Just look up master assassin playing dishonored 2 to be sold on emily's powers
@@buffruddy297in domino we trust
Abt Aramis Stilton: "He didn't fit in with the elites, and he knew it so he didn't even try" meanwhile him trying SUPER hard constantly to fit in with what he thinks nobles do lol
Would love to learn way more about the world of dishonored we've only scratched the surface
Didnt know this game had lore I dropped it first 10 mins and randomly came across this and check the date keep it pushin
The lore is thicc. I played dishonored one pacifist run, was really rewarding
One of the greatest games ever made big mistake dropping it I’d highly suggest giving it a real chance
Of you don't like the second at least try the first which I personally prefer despite both being fantastic. The first has a better art style and overall pacing to me.
I barely ever comment, but what a brilliant 40 minutes of media this was. Thanks for keeping me entertained
oh yea one last thing i just remembered during my playthrough of dishonored 2 which was pretty funny after i saved dr.hypatia and talked with her on the ship i was roaming around looking for stuff to pick up and throw when i found a bottle of chlorphorm or some other liquid and as was my want at the time i throw the bottle to watch it shatter on the ground but instead dr.hypatia had a "very important line" to repeat to me and got in the bottle path which struck her in the head and killed her immediately. at that point laughed thinking it was some kind of joke she went down that easy but when she didn't get back up i had to reload my save which at that point was 2 hours ago before i even went into the building hypatia was to cure her. fun times. last last note i also accidently killed anton after i picked him up by dropping him on the floor and hitting the attack button to pick up again
I found this channel earlier, and now I'm subbed, amazing job on this vid.
bravissimo!
Lol during my play through, around (40:20) on my way in, I took out the guards that drag the real duke away, leading to a hilarious scene. I think the cutscene still plays out but with invisible guards.
Lmao i didnt know i could prevent aramis stilton from attending the seance thingy, all i did was sneak up behind him and grab the stuff we needed from him😅
I want a painting for myself. That sounds awesome
This was awsome thanks so much for this gem that is DISHONORED 2
Thank you for your amazing videos. Everyone praises the Dishonored series' amazing gameplay (rightfully so) but it also has created an atmospheric, fascinating, mysterious and yet strangely believable world that just sucks you in. I would love to see more content about Dishonored on your channel which is criminally underrated I might add. I’ll do my best to spread the word. :)
Thank you for checking it out and for such kind words! There may be 1 more return to the Dishonored universe to get some of the stories out that I haven't finished yet.
Thank god youtube recommended me this channel
Corvo is basically the only option if you want a low chaos run.
You do great work! This was super entertaining and I can’t wait for you to
Make more
I think i found. My favourite UA-cam channel .
Great content 👍 keep up the good work!!!🔥🔥🔥😍
Absolutely. Thank you so much!
You are my favorite lore channel
I love your content, keep it up.
I feel like Corvo was the better choice to fight someone like Delilah. Emily was trained, but most likely doesn’t have the years of combat experience or void mastery of Corvo.
That's funny because I've always felt it's Emily's throne and therefore her fight to win back. Plus, I adore her funky void powers the most.
@@1957DLT I agree, it’s thematically relevant. However, I felt Emily would feel more pressured into a corner in situations Corvo would stealth around or knock out enemies. Emily only learned her fighting skills for self-defense, I feel it makes sense if she’d be more liberal and unrestrained with her use of force.
slackjaw might be a sibling too from the hearts comments in the 1st game
Shit, the things I would do to have the mark of the Outsider!
And I'd be sure to keep the Outsider entertained so that he'd keep hooking me up with more powers!
I hope you do more Dishonored stuff in the future. I already just subscribed
Your channel is gonna blow up one day, try doing a video on a trending topic
Really enjoying your videos
Your channel is amazing
So good! ❤️
Most underrated game of all time
Nicely done, here goes a new sub :)
Theodonis and Aramis are good friends indeed😏
Really nice Videos everyone
Damn Meg Foster I can only think of her every time you say Megan Foster
great video,so nice voice!
In the dlc to first game there are proofs of delilah being jesamine's sister
When I finished the game without killing foster and found out she goes back to working for daud i reloaded my save killed her and threw her overboard lol
i fully missed billie and diedre cut scenes and talking to delilah? i tried to but nothing happened! howd i miss this.
this channel is so dope
Good content man. Cheers...
Thank you for this
I’m firmly in the camp that Delilah is not the sister of Jessamine which I believe most people are.
Another banger dude.
Yeah godamn this channel is great
Amazing content!!!
wow this is great
I almost thought you missed the Daud dlcs
