The first console game Atlus ever published in the west turned out to be a surprisingly charismatic, charming platformer. It feels like a good license-based game, just without the license.
I so love this game and I remember seeing this on Nick Arcade and I even remember the whole description from Phil Moore also, and this game is awesome.😃❤👍
Rockin’ Kats and Wacky Races are two of my favourite oddball games on the NES. The huge boss sprites in this game are awesome. I always liked the song that starts at 37:34.
Yeah, the giant gorilla reminds me of the dragon in Mega Man 2. That song is cool too, even if it is a total ripoff of the Phantom of the Opera theme. Wacky Races was great. I really enjoyed that one. Have you ever played Widget?
One of my friends had this game for his NES back in the 1990's. Although, it was challenging and frustrating 😹, it is still a pawsome and purr-fect game 😺👍🕹️.
The punch glove control did take a little getting used to, but I fricking loved this game (and the music) as a kid! That Atlus charm already shining through before they'd make a name with Persona and Shin Megami Tensei.
First game I ever emulated. First game I ever bought when I started rebuilding my collection in the early 2000s too. Like you... I was fascinated by the Nintendo Power coverage, but could never find the damn game anywhere, not even for rent. Certainly didn't disappoint when I finally got the chance to play it. Such a charming little game.
Awesome rock ‘em, Sock ‘‘em game, as Phil Moore used to say on Nick Arcade, when this game was being played, from what I remember. I always picked the Pipe Toss Bonus Round.
@@NintendoComplete Oh a lot of the usual suspects. Battletoads, Ducktales, Link's Awakening. A few of the more obscure ones like Maniac Mansion, Powerblade. It was kind of like Let's play's before Let's Plays were a thing. Living vicariously through magazine walkthroughs since you were unlikely to get a shot at every 70$ game that came out.
@deatheven13 I remember those days well. I used to read my Nintendo Powers and Gamepros cover to cover, over and over, usually until they were falling apart.
@@NintendoComplete I had the special Final Fantasy and Ninja Gaiden 2 ones too. That one taught you how to be a ninja by telling time by looking at your cat's eyes ... and getting beat up by your cat.

it's an example of the "anime doing an impression of warner bros etc." style, it seems!
@@VJFranzKThat's a good way to put it. It's just like that.

I was looking for this for awhile and glad I found strangely enough through UA-cam recommendations.
Loved this as a kid
I played that game back in 2004 🥺 i looked for that game since then, and i found it today 🥲
Gotta love random skateboarding subway urchins. 2:36
They're very polite.
I love games like this. You just jump around hit stuff just because.
Gotta love old games for their simplicity.
One of the most beautiful games I've seen on the NES, and a tremendous OST

Played this game as a kid. Good game but Challenging sometimes but after renting it a few times, it was a good game.

No twin towers? I guess not even Willy could stop Feline/11.
I love these classics 💪🏻
I didn't know it, this game is super cool.
Before SEGA even acquired Atlus.
90s. Home. Childhood coded here. Adorable life!
WHO GAVE A GUN TO THE CHEETOS CHEETA?!
CLOWN-DOG SHOW TIME CLAP! CLAP!

This is an interesting game 🤔

this deserves a remake.
Man I was just thinking looking at your Astanyax vid. "If this guy does Rockin' Cats, my Nintendo Power favorite games to look at will be complete."
😊 What were the others?

40:40 As Aqualung said, "Who kisses with their eyes open?" 😂
Good game though! 👍
Given that dogs are the bad guys in this game, I imagine that dog lovers won't like how dogs are portrayed here.
Muito legal esse jogo
I see why this got a Rayman hack. Very creative platformer
Eu tinha me esquecido dele
Meu deus
Que bom que você me lembrou mano!
Прекрасное прохождение! Всегда терпеть не мог последний, скрытый уровень после титров. Какой в нём вообще был смысл, я так и не смог понять(
Thanks! It felt pretty unnecessary.
gotta be heathcliffs cousin beatn on dogs like that lol
Круто. Сам недавно проходил. Только Японскую версию.
Nyankies? Or is it the wrong name? A hack? Which one is right?
This is just rayman except your a cat.
Haha right 😂
:( I hated Rayman lol
Porque cuando te pasas el juego empiezas a jugar algunas partes?por alguna razón?
2:23 galinha pintadinha!?
